A court in Indonesia has convicted and sentenced to death a 41-year-old mechanic for his part in the bombing of two nightclubs in the island resort of Bali last year. A suspected al-Qaeda-linked suicide bomber killed nine people including several Spanish tourists Monday when he drove his car into the site of the ancient Queen of Sheba temple in central Yemen, police officials said.
Seven of those killed were believed to be Spanish tourists, the officials at Yemen's Interior Ministry said. Two Yeminis were also killed, as was the attacker, said the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

AN Indonesian court today sentenced an academic to six years' imprisonment for sending a laptop to jailed Bali bomber Imam Samudra. Prosecutors at Semarang Central Court had asked for a 12-year term for Agung Setyadi, who was found guilty of sending the computer by courier to Samudra in May 2005 while he was in Kerobokan jail on the resort island.Prosecutors told the court during the trial that the laptop was sent in his daughter's name to a jail warden who handed it to Samudra in his cell, allowing him to remain in contact with other Muslim militants.Prosecutors at a separate trial have sought an 11-year sentence for prison warden Benny Irawan.
