HSBC is complaining that their loss in income is due in part to US holdings that are underperforming. It's been a while because school has been really hectic. I guess I should take this time to make some blog posts in advance, but since I base my posts on what is happening at the time, that doesn't really make sense, which is too bad. Then maybe I wouldn't leave you hanging for a month thinking I'm dead or something. The last month, I've had three papers due. One in history, which was to act as a part of my midterm grade. That was due toward the beginning of October. My next paper, due a week later, was an in-depth reading and response to a story or poem we'd read before the paper was assigned (for my literature class, of course). That wasn't too hard. My last paper was due two weeks after the second paper. That was to be a research paper on some piece we'd read for class (also for literature, of course). That paper was a challenge, especially since I changed my topic about three days into the paper. We were supposed to be working on it pretty much the whole semester,

I've been getting obsessed with minutiae and detailing how characters walk from one room to another! How totally unnecessary. I'm going to scrap all those descriptions of long corridors and just get straight to the point... although i will set the scene a little bit, i do like a bit of description now and again!I've found reading other books so useful to see how they deal with situations and improve my technique. I think that would be my best tip, read many books and read often.
For whatever reason, the blog is loading incredibly slowly...or not at all. Not quite sure why, but I apologize and am looking into it.

It's amazing how fast the days at the end of school vacation sped by. I keep sitting down to write a longer post, hoping to compose something worthy of reading. Instead, I find myself getting bogged down in old photos as I try to pull together a post about Pepper's birthday and the fact that my fabulous child is now 7.I don't seem to have all my stamina back after this recent illness, and so instead of posting about the end of the week and the books I've been reading and the birthday party, I'll post these few baby pictures and call it a night. Hopefully my act will pull itself together tomorrow. Can you believe this face?
