      ModernGear Women: Peasant blouses
I grew up in the age of the Supermodel, and we knew them by first name then...Elle, Linda, Christy, Claudia, Naomi...and Cindy. Now, they've all done very well for themselves in terms of aging (perhaps with assistance, maybe not), but the Supermodel who looks the most comfortable having strutted right off the runway and into normal civilian life, to me, is Cindy Crawford. Her style, whether dressed

Islamists Blame Girl Blouses For Sexual Attraction
Malaysia’s education minister rejected complaints from religious groups that schoolgirl uniforms were too sexy and invited rape by men. From what I have seen, clothing is not the main consderation [...]

not all white blouses are the same
Who say cufflinks are only for men? These days, I have seen many smartly tailored women’s blouses that go well with silver cufflinks. One of my favourite brand names for women’s blouses are the ones at Alain Figaret, who also opened the first boutique in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Gardens. Though Alain Figaret is more known for his luxury men’s shirts, I adore his cuts for the women’s collection - smart, simple, unpretentious, elegant and very fine in style. Who say all white blouses are the same?

Online Retail Therapy : Under $20 Blouses
After a very volatile and shocking day from watching The View, I had to do something to clear my aura, heh. I felt I needed to do some retail therapy. The one true tested cure for what ails every fashionista in the world. LOL. Hey, it’s better than eating a whole bundt of pound cake, right? Not that I do that anyway, i’m just saying. But since this Momma is broke, I had to do it in a way I wouldn’t regret at the end of the day. Online Window Shopping. Yes, the credit card is a few steps behind me but a Bargain Styler would always think first before buying something. Even if it’s actually on SALE. I love printed blouses. I’ve been trying to slowly keep adding them in my wardrobe staples. The inception of different prints like florals, geometrics, dots, nature tones, and stripes these days are making me a happy styling Momma. So what did I find for under $20? (more…)

      Spring Trend : Ruffled Blouses
One of the major trends for Spring 2007 is ruffles and bows on absolutely everything. These cute and feminine touches are accenting everything from purses to shoes lately. The newest trend for spring when it comes to girly embellishments is the ruffled blouse. Blouses like the purple top above (Nannette Lepore - $242) and the white top on the right (Joie - $105) are splurges, but there are affordable options as well. This yellow top (below) by dELiA*s is an adorable version of the same style, for a fraction of the price ($32.50!!) Plus, we all know yellow is a hot color for spring. These blouses look great with everything from jeans to a denim skirt to nice pants. They are fun and romantic and great for spring, but they also don’t make you look like you’re trying too hard. Another great example of an affordable ruffled blouse is this blue one from Guess? (on the right.) It’s $59 which is a little more expensive, but it’s so adorable and versatile that I def

Hint for an easy bust adjustment on certain blouses posted by Babs42
I just finished making my first piece that I can wear! In the past they have always been for my girls, costumes, or home decorating. I made Simplicity 3842 View A in a gorgeous chocolate brown Rayon with an aqua pattern which worked nicely. The shirt had an inner false shirt underneath to give it the look of a layered top. I followed the directions to the "T", but when i tried it on it was tight in the bust. I finally figured that if i removed the fake layer underneath, It fit great. I simply sewed a piece behind the low v-neck to make it look like there was another layer, but i do not have the bulk or the tightness. I am now off to sew my daughter's halloween costume followed by the flannel night gowns I promised all three, the cord. jumper for my youngest, the wool blend pants for me..... Hope this may help someone! BarbLast post by Irene Q at Wed 03 Oct 2007 09:02:13 AM Total posts: 2 Visit PatternReview.com to read this entire topic.Research White Sewing Machines at Patte

back-ties on blouses posted by sewfrequent
i've seen a dozen or so really cute springy tops in RTW and have to put them back on the rack once i see they tie in the back. Now for a 50-something...do you think twice or just wear these? I have the feeling they're a little bit joovie but some of the tops are otherwise really nice and flattering also. I did buy TWO yesterday and one of them i can remove the ties. Thought i'd come here to take a pulse on this before I start ripp'in! :confused:Last post by sewfrequent at Sun 20 Apr 2008 06:23:11 PM Total posts: 11 Visit PatternReview.com to read this entire topic.Research your Sewing Machine at PatternReview.com.
