I recently saw Blood Red Shoes in Cardiff at Clwb Ifor Bach. So here's a little review...First band up were She Set Sail, a local South Wales alternative rock band from Cardiff. The band comprises of Lee Smith (Bass), Jonny Payne (Guitar/Vocals), and Sam Vanttinen Newton (Drums). I was pretty impressed with these guys display, as it looked as if this was the first time they have played on such a stage, and they did well. With each song the band clearly grew in confidence, particuarly frontman Jonny Payne who seems a real talent. I think She Set Sail definatley have some potential, and the more gigs they play will only help to further this. She Set SailNext up from Nottingham were noisy punk rockers, Lovvers. The band features Shaun Hencher (vocals) who was previously in The Murder Of Rosa
Have you heard Blood Red Shoes yet? If not then this is your lucky day, as they are really beginning to make some noise overseas and I am betting it spreads here to the states in due time as well. The band is currently finishing up their debut album, but there have been a few songs that I have been really enjoying beforehand as well, including the excellent song, “You Bring Me Down.”
The news on the band right now is that they have just announced a load of tour dates, and a bunch of those dates are out in support of Maximo Park. The band will be releasing a new, as yet to be titled single, in October and release their debut album, co-produced with Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys), in early 2008.
Check out this new remixed version of their tune, “It’s Getting Boring By The Sea”, mixed by Blamma Blamma.

Juni 2007 die Single "It's Getting Boring By The Sea" und am 29. Oktober die Single "I Wish I Was Someone Better" heraus. Im April 2008 wird das Album "Bos of Secrets" veröffentlicht werden. Schon im November des Vorjahres hatte die Platte auf mysteriösen Wegen das Licht der .torrent-Öffentlichkeit erblickt.
