I got a reminder, a request for nomination actually, from another blogger recently that nominations for the Bloggies 2008 have opened.I duly nominated them, however you have to submit at least three blogs in total. There is a category for Best Asian Blog, so I had a difficult choice picking my top 3 blogs from Asia.Should I chose the Marmots Hole probably the best known Korea blog? What about Matt at Gusts of Popular Feeling and James at The Grand Narrative? Mike the MetroPolitician writes strong and impassioned posts trying to get Korea to like foreigners more. He also runs FeetMan Seoul which could certainly be nominated in Best Fashion blog. While RokDrop , DPRK Studies, One Free Korea and Korea Law Blog provide the serious Korean news stories of the day.Daeguowl at Kimchi for Breakfas
Bloggies Weblog Awards has succeeded in choosing insignificant Asian blogs as the best Asian weblog for 7 years straight. I honestly don’t know how, but it’s time that this simple blog contest gets the right blogs. So, here are my nominations :
Michael and ESWN are not only blogs, they’re institutions, leaders of their niche. They’re [...]

flangracneig pgoramian Yes, I know I wasn’t going to blog on my weekend, especially with such a large hangover as I have now (seriously, it’s death), but I feel I must comment on something.
The bloggies are out, and I must say I’m kinda disappointed with the line up. Not because I’m not there, just because it just seems all rather the same old blogs.
Sure, the UK bloggers have proven once again that we produce the best damn bloggers on the face of the earth, but I just can’t help that some of the other categories you can list the nominations before they’re announced. Best American blog, for example. It’s like Annie Lennox, who always gets nominated in the Brits. However, the Best American blog category is like five Annie Lennoxes (Lennoxi?). Nobody wants that.
Vote for whoever, as long as Problogger, Lifehacker and Arseblog are there.
Oh, and if Blogger wins “Best Blogging Application” again, I’ll riot.

Wowsers! What a delightful surprise to see myself listed as a finalist for Best-Designed Weblog! (Color me quite thrilled! And tickled pink!)
I'm happy to be the splash of color and hand-drawn lines that you see here. The site underwent a massive overhaul this summer, and it finally looks the way I always wanted it to; loose and free and full of paint. And it's amazing that I'm not the only one who noticed!
Hugs and thank yous to everyone who nominated me! If you like what you've been seeing... please vote for French Toast Girl. Voting's open 'till 10PM EST on February 2, the anniversary of the day Paul got down on one knee and proposed (maaaany years ago). Good omen? I'd like to think so!

Somehow, dear readers, we got nominated in one of the toughest categories for the 2007 Bloggies. 'Best Entertainment Weblog' is typically a fierce competition amongst blogs with huge readerships; we don't even pretend that we can win. We're flattered that we were even considered.
Our good friends at Project: Rungay were nominated in the 'Best New Weblog' category which carries enormous prestige. We offer our congratulations and urge all of our readers to please vote for them. This is well-deserved.
To those that nominated us - thank you. You are very sweet. Sure, we'd love to win mostly because we consider you, the readers, the main reason that Blogging Project Runway has its success. This nomination is all yours.
We are honored.
It's been a learning experience since Lyke2Drink was launched back in July.
Turning out copy on nearly a daily basis is not new to me, nor is marketing a product. Still there is much about blogging that I am still learning. I want to create a blog that goes beyond the "I had this to drink today" nature of some and has more news value than the cut and paste content of some others. There would be elements of each of these formats to Lyke2Drink for sure, but my goal is to create something people will want read and visit often. Perhaps not on a daily basis, but at least once or twice a week. I purposely decided to go in the direction of a general alcoholic beverage blog, instead of something more specialized solely about beer, wine or spirits. While focusing on one segment would give me the ability to turn out more in-depth copy and appeal to some, I don't drink only one type of beverage and I don't think that is the way most people approach adult beverages.
I've learned that most
For the first few days of the new year just take a long look over the blogs we have listed so far.
Another Blog award is on it’s way with voting already begun.
The seventh annual weblog awards, the 2007 Bloggies.
Go nominate your favorite candidates.
It's time for the 2006 Bloggies ! If you feel so inclined, I'd love it if you wanted to nominate this one. (hee!) So far I think my best bet is "Best Undiscovered Blog" and "Best Tagline" but hey, who knows? :) And don't forget to vote for your other favorites as well!
ps ~ Thanks for all the butt-kicking, please keep it coming! I hope to have a fresh illustration up this weekend. In the meantime, I finally compiled all my Illustration Friday paintings into one gallery... check 'em out!
