Blog Comment Censorship - What does it mean to you?
How many times do the valuable readers of blogs get moderated into oblivion by authors? How many times has a reader disagreed with an author, actually been correct, and been silenced? Why is this done? Does the author have too large of an ego to recognize that they may not know it all? Does they [...]

      Blog Comment Rules
I've opened up this blog to allow for easier debate and welcome good and expressive comments. The little balloon at the side is the link for making such comments.I look forward to hearing more from my growing band of readers. I also post on the British Democracy Forum, which has inspired me to attempt a move-up in the blogging world. Please be assured of my desire for a healthy debate based on the political interests of the centre right in British and American politics. That does not exclude areas of political thought from elsewhere in the world and from a different perspective from mine.Blogging is one of the joys of the internet. I do not mind comments made in a strong way, but will not allow the use of what the BBC calls "strong language", to you and me swearing and blaspheming. Also, i

It Was too Good to Be True. Blog Comment Links Don’t Count After All.
When RainToday published my article "How to Blog Without Having a Blog” earlier this month, they requested a few edits and called it “Using Blogs to Attract Attention”. Prior to publication, the editor asked me to address the question of whether or not links in blog comments help your website’s rankings. I posted the question to a trusted SEO forum and while I didn’t get a definitive answer, no one said “No. They don’t count.” So in the article I made the claim “You can improve your website’s rankings with links from blogs.” My reasoning was that when you either put a link in your comment or put your domain name in your signature, the links will be counted by the search engines. It seems reasonable, right? A link to your website counts as a link to the search

Blog Comment Spam to Search Spam to Email Spam
A friend of mine found out about a product that was first seen by them from a spam comment someone left on my site. The product helped automate content generation and syndication, aiming to help new webmasters distribute slightly unique spam across the web. My friend gave that person his email address and they email spam him non-stop. Marketing offers are no better than the marketing method they use to find you.
