Over the past few days I've been seeing a lot of things that just made me focus on how blessed I am. Every now and again I get this feeling like I need a bunch of things. For example the other day I was mad because my parents never let me go anywhere, then I was mad because if I wanted to go somewhere with a guy friend they had to meet him and all these things just for us to hang out, and I'm like wtf! I then realized how many kids would kill for what I have. My parents irritate me at least 5 times a day (well my mom 5, my dad maybe 1), but I'm so glad to have them. If I were to list all the blessings we have received this season, this post would be longer than anyone would be willing to read. We have received another blessing just today, in fact first thing this morning...Once again, not going into details...but by this time next week we may have a vehicle to replace our terminal one. Nothing is set in stone, but we may be blessed with a free vehicle large enough for our family. Erik and I are speechless with the generosity we've received and are forever grateful. Again, we are attempting to share some of our blessings so as not to seem selfish. I will not go into in depth details, but in the past week DH and I have been very blessed by those surrounding us. Today at work, after a particularly bad day, hubby found an envelope on his desk. In Minnesota, the media's getting it all wrong in their coverage of a Right-to-Carry case. WCCO-TV reports that a couple of churches are trying to exempt themselves from Minnesota's Right-to-Carry law. But that's not really what's going on here. A dear friend gave me a CD "Blessed Be Your Name - The Songs of Matt Redman Volume 1". It now lives in my CD player in the car. I kid you not, I have listened to this CD over and over again - on my way to work, and on my way back home, everyday since I received it. EVERYDAY.Why do I like this worship CD? I think it's because Matt Redman knows what it means to really worship. The lyrics of the songs are simply what one should express when confronted by the awesome presence of God. It's full of adoration and praise.When I am at church singing worship, sometimes I get bothered by some songs in which is it more of "give me, bless me, take away my pain" kind of songs. Not that they are bad. And I believe there's a place for it. But to worship... to worship means to take the focus away from our selves and to look upon God. From both of them, I inherited a deep piety and a strong devotion to the Church and to the Immaculate Mother of God. Today, our new son turns one month old. Besides being truly blessed with my beautiful wife, this little boy, and his big sister, we have been blessed in many ways this month. Little Euphrony has had no problems so far with having a new baby in the house. She loves him so much; we have more problems trying to get her to give him some space and not smother him than anything else. She wants to hold her little bro, leans over to give him hugs and kisses on the forehead constantly, and wants to help with everything - including changing his diapers. (Hearing her help to sooth Lil'er E during a diaper change by singing "Grace Flows Down" (Christy Nockels) to him absolutely melts my heart.) We worried that she might act out and become jealous of the attention he gets that we once solely lavished on her; this has yet to happen. She may act like a three-year old girl, but that is normal; she loves her brother and seems to understand the needs he has and how mom and dad must respond to him.Our f

Yesterday I at least vacuumed and cleaned up a little bit. Vacuuming isn’t a hard job, it just makes me really have to set my mind to doing it before I will. Every time I’m finished I think, “Now why in hell didn’t I just do that earlier?” I should vacuum at least once each weekend but, nope, I go two to three weeks before I do it. When I first got my apartment I was so worried about cleaning it. I was afraid of turning into my mother if I left it messy or cluttered. I’ve always worried about being like my mother, ending up sitting alone, waiting for my husband to care about me, wishing things were different. The only things that seem different from her anymore are that I live on my own without kids or a man to be tied down too, the fact that I received an education and the want to do something for myself rather than constantly believing that nothing will ever change.
