Cherie Blair has revealed that her fourth son Leo, was conceived during a trip to Balmoral in 1999 because she was too embarrassed to pack her contraception.
In the latest extracts from her memoirs, Mrs Blair said that when she had previously visited Balmoral in 1998, her bags had been unpacked for her including “the entire [...]
John Prescott apparently urged Tony Blair to sack Gordon Brown but he claims the prime minister was "scared" of his chancellor. This is what Prescott says in his memoirs. Amazing these New Labour people. All making money, or trying to, faster than a one-armed bandit. The former deputy prime minister said Mr Blair reneged on several promises to resign in favour of Mr Brown. So it was true. No wonder
AP - Tony Blair considered not running for a third term as British prime minister but his wife and others persuaded him it would be seen as an admission that he had been wrong about the Iraq war, she says in her newly published autobiography.
Here’s a great clip with Leighton Meester sharing thoughts about the last few episodes of Gossip Girl, including who Blair wakes up with in the season finale…

In the days after US and British troops destroyed the regime of Saddam Hussein, thousands of Iraqis celebrated the new dream of a nation free from oppression and dictatorial rule. Thousands of Iraqis volunteered their talents to assist the invaders because they thought it would lead to creation of a democratic Iraq. Little did they [...]
Hi, In the gossip girl episode 5 dare deivl i absolutely fell in love with blair's dress where can i get it?I fell in love with that dress too and I have been looking for it ever since. Unfortunately I haven't found it (yet) but I did find this one on Asos.com and it is pretty darn similar.Chelsea Flower Large Flower Contrast Trim Dress, $385.18 at Asos.com
In the "Well he would say that" department of political life, Gordon Brown brushes aside assertions made by Lord Levy. When something like this is revealed, it is either true, partly true or a fabrication. I've said that I feel it is true, or at least as true as Lord Levy remembers it. These kinds of remarks are not normally forgotten.Either Lord Levy is a liar or Tony Blair is a liar. Lord Levy writes in his memoirs that "He (Blair) kept saying that he had never realised how duplicitous Gordon was, and what 'a liar' ". So Tony Blair thought Gordon Brown was a liar. There's a lot of them about in New Labour, that's for sure.Gordon Brown told the BBC in an interview that Blair's office "has made it clear that this in not an accurate reflection of what Mr Blair has said". Not an accurate ref
Tony Blair must be some kind of rotten chum to his friends. When the going gets tough, let them hang out to dry. When they fight back, call them liars. It's all a bit pot calling the kettle black. Blair's been dissembling since his schooldays. It seems to be an inherent character trait. Those at Fettes with him felt a sensible distance was required at times, otherwise they too could be hauled up in front of the Headmaster. Gordon Brown came to believe that he couldn't trust Blair's integrity. No doubt, Blair felt likewise. It had long gone past the point where the dog was chasing its tail. The tail had a life of its own!Blair first got to be friends with Michael Levy at a Jewish fundraising dinner party in 1994 and they eventually ended up as tennis partners. Levy is better known now as Lo
This Mahathir fellow is really something. He could never keep his mouth shut, could he?After banging fellow Muslims and Malays in the likes of Anwar Ibrahim, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib in the last few weeks, he is now going into overdrive all poised to attack George W. Bush, Tony Blair and John Howard!Oh dear!I told you folks one time ago that there is something very wrong with Mahathir. Do you believe me now?Abu Qatadah bin Rib'i, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Whenever a bier passed before him, he said: He is the one to rest in peace and the one with (the departure of him) whom others will become relieved. They asked: Messenger of Allah, who is the one to rest in peace and the one from whom others will be relieved? Upon this h
On Wednesday our Cake-loving member received Cloverfield from Netflix, which we came home and watched after a League business meeting/pizza outing. It was a lot better than I'd thought it would be going in, as I hadn't heard anyone say a nice thing about it besides fellow Leaguer Onyx. In the end, there were too many points where the characters grated on me or their actions didn't follow any sort of logic to keep me from really loving it, but I can't say I wasn't entertained for 80 minutes. The movie really made me think of a Blair Witch Project with a much bigger budget. I'll come clean: I'm a big Blair Witch Project fan, and still feel the movie doesn't receive the credit it deserves. Even taking the low-budget blockbuster and insane grassroots marketing phenomena away, it succeeds as a c

I have been trying to find out where to get the black floral headband that Blair Waldorf wore in the pilot episode. I have been unable to find a decent photo of it, but the best one I could find is attached. I also saw your post on ThisNext about dress forms. I have been trying to find one for ages without spending $400-$500. But I am petite 5'2" and approx size 16. Any suggestions?Let me address your dress form question first. I bought my first dress form in college and paid about $35o for a professional brand new one. Later that year my school sold some from the 70's for about $25 each! So the point is, you can get them for less. However those forms are about a size 4. You can go to fabric stores like Jo-Anns and get some for pretty cheap (use a coupon) and they are fully adju
He had a lame excuse. He doesn't carry money, or at least not this time. However, the guard on the Heathrow Express allowed him to carry on, as someone paid up for him. OK for some. The press have had a field day, pointing out the ironies of it all. But I like the overseas press the best, especially The Hindu. This is what they think of "the 54-year-old mega-rich Middle East envoy"!Tony Blair may have earned millions since leaving office last year but when it came to paying his own train fare, the former British Prime Minister was found short of cash. The 54-year-old mega-rich Middle East envoy recently jumped on the Heathrow Express which allows passengers to buy a ticket on board. But when the ticket collector came round to first class, a red-faced Blair could not cough up the 24.50 pound
A week today it is polling day in London for the mayor. Ken Livingstone looks like he is just a bit behind. Who else to get to help him out? Why Tony Blair, of course! All in the aid of securing victory for Labour, so Gordon Brown doesn't cut such a pathetic figure.Three glorious sides of a dodgy triangle. All three corners pointing to trouble.Come next Thursday, I say - DON'T VOTE LABOUR! If the 10p tax band fiasco is anything to go by, New Labour (and Ken's Maverick Labour) don't deserve any further time in the corridors of power. Now we know. Labour don't give a fig about the poor. The last straw was seeing Yvette Cooper wingeing on TV about it all. She's got a nerve. She and her husband Ed Balls have seen to it that they feathered their own nests before even thinking of the weak and vul
My Gossip Girl episode 14 recap was posted earlier today and I forgot to mention one thing. There is still no news about who the gay character is, not even a clue about it. It has to be Eric. It just has to.

I am absolutely in love with all of Blair's clothes on the show! Me and my friend re actually dressing up as Blair and Serena for an event this week. I have to go get an outfit but I've had no luck finding anything like either of the outfits I like. Help me please! here are the two outfits that Blair wears that i love to death! The other picture wont let me copy it, since its copyrighted but the link is here>
You certainly came to the right person. Check out my list on ThisNext which has pretty much everything Blair has ever worn on her back!
Gossip Girl Fashion: Blair Waldorf
Since this is for a costume party, I wouldn't advise spending as much as these outfits really cost. Head over to a school uniform supply store for the basics (skirt, tie), go to Target for the ti

So the text of the treaty will be pushed through parliaments with no time for discussion and debate. Nicolas Sarkozy himself told right-wing Euro MPs that if there were referendums on the Lisbon Treaty, they would be lost; if the French voted, they would again vote 'No'. Under no circumstances should citizens be allowed referendums (and Ireland made a huge mistake in making them compulsory).Don't make the mistake of letting people actually read a clear text. The Lisbon Treaty is what you get, like it or not, although we can't actually give you a copy of it – just five or six separate documents, protocols and declarations that you can spend the next few years collating and cross-referencing to your heart's content. Oh yes – and we've got just the man to lead the new Euro
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has called for faith to be given a central role in tackling the world's problems.Mr Blair said faith should be rescued from extremism and be a force for progress, in his first speech on faith since becoming a Catholic. He said politicians found it difficult to talk about faith because they "may be considered weird".His speech was accompanied by a noisy anti-war protest and silent vigil by Catholic peace group Pax Christi.Mr. Blair, who converted to Catholicism months after stepping down as prime minister last summer and is now a Middle East envoy, told an audience of 1,600 at Westminster Cathedral he was often asked if faith was important to his politics."If you are someone 'of faith' it is the focal point of belief in your life. The song is one of my favorites (the Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony which some folks associate with Cruel Intentions but I always think of Devil Wears Prada). The theme of the video is the friendship between Serena and Blair.

Heather Mills, estranged wife of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney, lied about former British Prime Minister Tony Blair offering her peerage, says a media report. In 2001 Mills claimed she was promised to be made a "people’s peer" and bragged that it was Blair’s initiative with support from Lord Macdonald, thesun.co.uk reports. She went on to reveal that she wasn’t sure about becoming Baroness Mills because it was "a bit odd". An ITV documentary exposes the claim as a lie. The programme titled "McCartney vs McCartney: The Ex Files" interviewed the three Lords with names like Macdonald and none could say that they even met her. Mills made the clam to Sunday Times writer Jasper Gerard and he told the programme it was "incredible".He s
This is not just irony; this is savage on a Jonathon Swift baby-eater scale. The tragedy is that - to borrow a phrase likely to be in Mr Blair's seminar - they know not what they do.
I think that Mr Blair is the greatest liar and sender of our armed forces into action under false pretences that this country has seen for perhaps 50 years.
And Yale University invite him to teach about "channelling religious values towards reconciliation not polarisation".
Ye gods.
It says all we need to know that the photo on the right (courtesy Yale Press Office) is labelled "Tony Blair PR". Yep, right in the filename; that about sums him up.
Anyway - for what it's worth (if anything) Yale is now permanently on my "institutions not to touch with a bargepole" list.

The former prime minister has been joining international experts on climate change in a bid to drive forward efforts to reduce global carbon emissions.Mr Blair said: "We have reached the critical moment of decision on climate change. There are few if any, genuine doubters left."Even on the mildest application of the precautionary principles, failure to act on climate change now would be deeply and unforgivably irresponsible."
The thinking was: You get a deal and all falls into place. But, Blair notes, no deal was ever cut. Unlike the Good Friday Agreement over Northern Ireland, the only agreement has been to agree to reach an agreement. So the former British prime minister is seeking to replay the original music. The way forward, he argues, is not to try to cut a deal on an agreement first: "For the Palestinian state to succeed, you need to start getting the reality of that state on the ground before political negotiations can be meaningful. The state is not about an agreement, but about Palestinian capabilities in handling security and their economy."Every Palestinian-Israeli peace effort has been killed off by the sound of war. It's been as if violence is irremediably built in to peace-making. Instead of the e
Former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair urged the U.S., Japan and European nations to make ``revolutionary'' cuts to greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.``Since poorer nations will see their emissions rise as they industrialize, and since the world population may well grow from 6 to 9 billion, emissions in the richer nations will have to fall close to zero,'' Blair said at energy and environmental talks in Chiba City near Tokyo.Ministers of the Group of Eight industrialized nations and representatives from 12 other countries discussed how to finance technological efforts to tackle climate change, and the basis for a successor to the Kyoto Protocol that expires in 2012.U.S. emissions of greenhouse gases total 20 tons a year per person, twice as much as in Europe and Japan, Blair s

This clip shows part 1 of ex-MI5 Officer, Annie Machon speaking at a "Trial of Tony Blair". The trial was a fringe event at the Labour Party Spring Conference held in Manchester, UK on 12 March 2004--organised by the Stop the War Coalition.Tony Blair was staying at the plush Midland Hotel in central Manchester less than a hundred yards from the hall where the trial took place. In between was a veritable army of police, armed officers from the Tactical Aid UNit (TAU), and the Special Branch (the UK's political police). Blair had of course been invited to the meeting to defend himself, but, curiously, declined to attend. The case for the prosecution was presented by Chris Coverdale of Legal Action Against War (LAAW), former MI5 whistleblower David Shayler and his partner Annie Machon--also a

From the Wiki/Google files....Lisa Whelchel, best known for portraying Blair on "The Facts of Life", is now an advocate of Chrisitanity and home-schooling. She has penned a rather controversial book on child-rearing called Creative Correction, in which she details her....unique methods of deciplinging her kids. Some highlights: -“Here’s a solution for a perpetually messy bedroom: Explain to your child, ‘I cannot bear to look at this room anymore—it’s too messy! I’m going to turn off the circuit breaker so I can’t see it. When it’s clean enough for me to tolerate, let me know and I’ll turn your power back on.’” -"Having a struggle at bedtime? My latest guilty pleasure is watching Gossip Girl on the CW. It's a silly little show based in New York's upper East side with a bunch of spoiled rich prep school kids having a drama filled time. They drink, they party, they sleep with their best friend boyfriends -- it's pretty much a trashy good time. All of those good times aside, the best part of the show is the fashion -- hands down.Blair Waldorf is my favorite character, not only is she a super-bitch but she has the best style on the show (in my opinion). Her preppy pulled together look is one to be envied. Her hair is always perfect and pulled back with a headband and her prep school clothes are just funky enough. This look here includes a navy blue patent trench from Tory Burch (which is on sale now), a great little tote by Be&D, red tights that you can pick up at Target for less than $6.00, boots by Sam Edelman (I just bought them online last night), and a red headband that you get practically anywhere ... but
