A meeting organised by Blackpool BNP for Monday evening, at which Nick Griffin was to be the star attraction, has been cancelled following numerous phone calls by anti-fascists to the Marton Men's Social Club in Dagger's Hall Lane, Blackpool. So much for the grand launch of Griffin's Euro campaign in the North West.
With the view to some new signing soon I’ve added a player profiles section to the site. At the moment only Paul Rachubka is on, I’ll be going through the squad which today stands at 19 adding them on one by one. It might be the case that it won’t be 19 with speculation today [...]
Another strange picture from the web about Blackpool FC. It’s a picture of Danny Harrison, in a Blackpool shirt and hat. I think he’s not a real Pool fan as the caption advised ‘becomes a Blackpool FC fan for the day’ The photo is by Josh Vosper who’s an awesome collection of photo’s.
For the full [...]
After losing in the play-off final Bristol City have released their top scorer Darren Byfield, the former Gills striker hasn’t impressed at the club and now must be a target for us. Byfield spend some time on loan at Blackpool when he was at Villa, making just three appearances. At 31 now he is getting [...]

Over the past two weeks there has been loads of post about the Blackpool FC ticket rises on AVFTT, Vital and the Seasiders mailing list. The main point is that the 30% rise in a season ticket for some is a bit too much for the pocket to take. With the Bank of England today [...]
The released and retained list was announced today with captain Micheal Jackson and left back John Hills being the main headliners to leave. As expected Kiegan Parker was released and will be looking for another club with 10 players including Micheal Flynn who had a good run in the team this year.
One surprise in the [...]

With the blog hitting 100 posts recently I thought the site could do with a little revamp and a new kit, well a new design. The photo at the top has been kept, the width expanding so there is another side bar on the right and now at the bottom of the page has the [...]

I’ve come across a brilliant website today that lists with pictures all the Blackpool FC kits down the years. The site includes kits of pretty much all 92 league teams and more. For Blackpool the kits range from 1887 all the way to this season kit from Carlotti.
From the eighties
What is truly amazing is that [...]

Should The Rolling Stones want to play at Blackpool ever again, they will be free to do so, after a ban on the group was lifted after forty four years.
The Stones last played at the British seaside town in 1964, and were promptly banned from ever appearing there again, after the show led to fifty [...]
Well what a day! It was a bit of a task to get to the Britannia Stadium today due to a terrible crash on the M6. The motorway was closed both ways so a diversion on the A34 via Congleton and then some directions using the iPhone I arrived at the Britannia at 2:30. The [...]
Well today was the big one, Preston V Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, the aim for both sides had to be to avoid defeat, the match ended Blackpool 0 - 0 Preston a result which will have pleased both managers. We were the better side in the game and created the most chances, the best a [...]
Well Keigan Parker did come on but we lost 3-2, it sounds like a close game but we went three down and then grabbed two goals to make it a close end to the match. Buzsaky scored with a lob, looked like a fluke to me, Vine then ran past three from the wing to [...]
Its the big one that we’ve been waiting for Blackpool v Preston. Eight seasons have passed since the last meeting of the sides, back in December we took all three points beating the knobbers 1-0 in their own backyard. Next Saturday they come to Bloomfield Road looking for their first win since 1992, thats not [...]
The Saints came matching in but they only took a point away, to be truthful it was an awful game of football, the first half was dire with it picking up in the second half goals from Keith Southern and Kaspars Gorkss. Once again the referee David Foster was rubbish giving Southampton a penalty and [...]
An article appeared in FourFourTwo about the west Lancashire derby Blackpool V Preston, the majority of the article is about the reason for the rivalry and the build up to the derby game back in December when we beat the Nobbers 1-0.
The article can be see here. Its not long till the next game 11 [...]
One of the great things about having a good mobile is you can blog from anywhere, at the moment I’m at Bloomfeild Road sat in my seat 30 mins from kick off.
The team news from tonight is we are keeping the same side that beat Norwich, so Dickov is still out .
At the [...]
Another great win with Steve McPhee grabbing his third and fourth goal of the season. Cureton scored from a pen whiched looked out of the box but we managed to hold on to take all three points.
Tomorrow we take on Barnsley and a win will mean out best run so far. Dickov is back from [...]
As well as being a avid Blackpool FC fan I’m also a SEO account manager at Just Search who are an SEO company. Basically we get website ranking on Google. After a little update from Google yesturday BFCBlog.co.uk can now be found on the first page for ‘blackpool fc‘.
So with that lets hope for a [...]
It’s the thrid picture in the installment, it’s former Pool boss Steve McMahon, Macca who will be remember for three visits to the Millenium Stadium, returning with three wins and when he resigned then decided to stay as manager. Back in June 2000 Steve had to go to court for an accused assault on a [...]
Highlights from the Blackpool 5 - 3 Charlton game with interviews with goalscorers Paul Dickov and Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
Edit: Balls the video is no longer - a great shame !

It was five of the best this weekend as the scored ended Blackpool 5 - 3 Charlton. It was a great match and vanished any memories of January when we went down 4-1 at the Valley. An eventful match which saw Blackpool go 2-0 up with Steve McPhee grabbing his first goal since his move [...]

By: George Edmunds Blackpool is a holiday resort on the Lancashire coast in the North West of England. Attracting some ten million visitors a year, the town is the most popular coastal resort in Europe. Historically, Blackpool owes much of its success to its proximity to the industrial towns of Lancashire with their large urban populations. Lancashire, and in particular Manchester, was the centre of the industrial revolution which took place in Britain during the nineteenth century. At this time Manchester was an extremely important manufacturing city; it was the focal point of the cotton trade being surrounded by mill towns such as Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, and Oldham with their spinning and weaving industries. Hundreds of thousands of people flocked from the countryside and from further afield such as Ireland to work in these factories and mills, and the population of Manchester and the nearby mill towns expanded rapidly. These developments took place around fifty or so miles from Blac

Making a plan for an exciting holiday outing for our family would sometimes be a very difficult situation for mom and pop. Why? It’s because taking the necessary vacation to an exotic island, cozy hotel and posh casino hotel entails a thorough consideration and since most of the times it all eats up a substantial chunk of our financial resources which dries up our stock of green in the long run. Thus, money matter in this particular circumstance is honestly hindering us to take the much needed breather once in a while to a tropical and romantic getaway for our loved ones. But it is not sensible also to make a journey to far-flung destination on account of, the widely known Blackpool Theme Park in the UK is just a drive away and besides they were crowing their breathtaking and stirring rides to us such as Big Dipper, Pepsi Max Big One, Infusion and Ice blast . Surely, it would be a great and unforgettable get-together for the whole family.
Pick From League 1 Play-off1. Blackpool - YeovilSunday, 27 May, at WembleyKick off: 15:00 ukPrediction: Blackpool to winThe odds: in Decimal 2.20Bwin in Decimal 2.25The verdict:Bookies points Blackpool as a favourite to win this final and promote but it will be a tough one having in mind the Yeovil form. The Somerset club is famous as "giants killer" in the domestic tournaments and will try to win today in a style that have demonstrated at City Ground. But I will go for Blackpool anyway because the team is performing very well when it comes to such clashes due to a wide experience in the play-off battles. Blackpool will break a 70-year old club record if they win at Wembley, the team are in spectacular form indeed and in a impressive winning series. On line midfielder Chris Brandon is again available for Blackpool. The biggest concern for Yeovil is the condition of their captain Terry Skiverton but he will probably lead the team out at Wembley.Live on:Internet - Livescore.comOr WIN 1

Well finally we're getting a bit of cooler weather and this coming weekend the signs are good for our first proper Cod hunt up at either Fleetwood or Blackpool, Lancashire.Three different weather websites are giving almost the same forecast of strong westerly winds dropping slightly on Saturday night with no rain. The tides are going to be high and the peak of high water is at about 9.30pm. Westerly winds, lo-pressure and a night time high tide - a Cod hunters dream on the North West coast. We'll make the final choice tomorrow after checking the weather so hopefully on Sunday I'll post a few pictures of some Cod!Tags: beach fishing, blackpool, cod, fleetwood, lancashire, sea fishing

Despite the generosity of The Killers as they roamed around Blackpool during the day and Radio 1's liberal giving away of tickets throughout last week, there were still hundreds of fans desperate for a slice of the action waiting on the streets surrounding Blackpool's Winter Gardens in the hope that they would get their hands on a ticket for this one off gig.Even those lucky enough to have tickets began queueing many hours before the show, desperate to secure a spot as close as possible to the stage. Anticipation was high and the atmosphere was electric as the crowds waited for the doors to the Empress Ballroom to open.Inside, the venue was perfect for The Killers. Incredibly grand, slightly camp yet incredibly classy and cool. The crowd poured in, racing towards the modestly sized stage emblazoned with hundreds if not thousands of fairy lights. There was no waiting around. Zane Lowe took to the decks for an incredible DJ set, warming the crowd into a frenzy.Shortly after 9pm The Kill
As you may have heard, The Killers played an amazing gig at Blackpool's Empress Ballroom on Friday night. The Razor Wire headed to Blackpool for all of the action.Arriving late Thursday night after a delayed Ryanair flight, Blackpool didn't strike us as the 'Las Vegas of the north' which is how Radio 1 had described it in their publicity. Instead we struggled to find a bar which we were confident we wouldn't leave in an ambulance and I got shot in the leg with a BB gun by some filthy chavs. In stark contrast on Friday morning we awoke to bright sunshine and Blackpool had come to life. First stop was the Pleasure Beach where Jo Whiley was broadcasting live from.Jo was having whale of a time playing on the rides and incredibly managing to keep her breakfast down and continue with her show like the professional she is.The Killers arrived to an less than overwhelming response from the theme park's patrons. This was mainly because they were a hoard of about 4,000 chav kids who have bee

I was listening this morning to a news items about Blackpool and the likely effect of them not getting the awarded the bid for the Super-Casino. It reminded me of an article I'd seen in a Children's Encyclopedia about the proposed 'Sun Ray Hotel' for Blackpool. The book was published in 1933. I wonder what ever happened to those plans - maybe WWII? The proposals are quite amazing. Here is the description: If you look at the picture [...] you will will see that the building is set back in tiers from bottom to top. This allows flood lighting to play an important role. The 'sun ball' at the top will be lighted with bright organg rays, and reflected light willappear through the slots in the square section below the ball. Directly behind these slots are water tanks for the water supply. The total height of the building will be 511 feet above the general level of adjoinging land. This is roughly the height of Blackpool Tower. The 'sun ball' is 27 feet 6 inches in diameter and wil
