Newcastle 0-1 BlackburnA late Matt Derbyshire strike denied Newcastle a deserved draw and piled more misery on manager Kevin Keegan.HighlightsMichael Owen almost put Newcastle ahead in the first half but pushed his shot wide after rounding Brad Friedel. The keeper denied Owen twice more after the break tipping the striker's header over and then pushing away his drive.Rovers were dangerous on the break but Andre Ooijers's volley was saved and Roque Santa Cruz was off target before Derbyshire ran clear to fire home.Derbyshire's late strike was a killer blow and harsh on Newcastle, who had shown positive, attacking flair throughout the match.Newcastle drove at the Blackburn defence right from the whistle with wide men James Milner and Damien Duff at the heart of it all.Within the first five mi

Two games, Two mistakes, Two goals conceded. This time around Jens Lehmann won't be the happiest man in the dressing room after the game. In a very physical affair at Ewood Park, Jens Lehmann's mistake meant that we have dropped points for the first time this season after Robin Van Persie put us ahead.Arsene Wenger reverted to a 4-4-2 after injuries to Rosicky and Eboue. Hleb moved to the left and Walcott on the right. New signing Eduardo teamed up with Robin Van Persie upfront. Blackburn put out a very attacking lineup, but it was soon clear what their intentions were. Right from the kick-off, the Blackburn players tried to rough up our players. And no prizes for guessing who was at his bloody best doing that. Robbie Savage. Mark Hughes may speak on and on about how his team is misunderstood and harshly treated by the referees, but these sort of showing by his team proves nothing but the fact the he loves kicking teams around. And thats exactly why Robbie Savage is in the team. That
So as we are off to Ewood park for a crucial fixture, especially considering that Man U is playing its derby and the other two are playing each other, three points from this fixture could really put us in a decent position.
Blackburn is our general nemesis though we did play against them quite well last season. Going by the Middlesbrough game, Hughes can be expected to start with a flat 4-4-2 with Santa Cruz and Roberts upfront. Their main threat would be as always from the wings, David Bentley on the right and Pedersen on the left. It would be great to see how Sagna deals with Pedersen. I expect Pedersen to be nullified by Sagna completely. Clichy was slightly below his game against Sparta in the defensive department. But Bentley is never really going to trouble him. Robbie Savage will be at his irritating best in the middle and Dunn would look to add the creative spark. The partnership between Samba and Nelsen has come in for rave reviews so far. They are tall strong defenders, so
English Premiership club Blackburn Rovers reported by Mirror to sign striker Craig Bellamy from their premiership rival club Liverpool. Rovers manager Mark Hughes planning to bring back his striker with same cost when Rovers sold Bellamy for £7m a year ago to Liverpool.

Spurs took a point at Blackburn yesterday but could that point end up costing Mark Hughes a lot more? Apparently European football, or the lack of it, could lead three of Rovers top stars to consider their future and by taking points off their Lancashire opponents they could have also laid the way for a [...]
