Blackberry users may now download a "sync" function for their devices that syncs the calendar on their Blackberries with their online Google calendar.

Research In Motion today announced plans to offer a new software application suite that will turn Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform into virtual BlackBerries. RIM plans to begin offering the new software application suite later this year for select devices based on Windows Mobile 6. Once installed, the software will provide users with a virtual BlackBerry application experience, including support for BlackBerry email, phone, calendar, address book, tasks, memos, browser, instant messaging and other applications developed for the BlackBerry platform. Devices running the BlackBerry application suite will be able to connect to BlackBerry services via BlackBerry® Enterprise Server as well as BlackBerry® Internet Service.The new BlackBerry application suite will complement existing Windows Mobile 6 functionality and will appear as an icon on the screen in the same manner as other third-party applications. Warning: May be Habbit Forming.If you work in an open source software shop, have people who carry Blackberries activated on your company Blackberry Enterprise Server you want to push data to you should have a look at Jan-Piet Mens' Real-World Blackberry MDS Push Applications: an Extensible Framework. This is one of the best organized and presented piece of open development I've seen for some time. His entire blog, or at least as much as I've read, is all like that. Standing on Jan-Piet's shoulders I was able to go from a standing start to pushing Browser-Message data in the morning, and had extended the frame work to include Browser-Channel data in the afternoon.If you don't currently have a Blackberry Enterprise Server but would like to use MDS Push applications there are ways without going totally over to the dark side. But I'll save those for latter.
