I found an ultra neat YouTube video of a female Surinam Toad on Zooillogix today. Surinam Toads (Pipa pipa) are native to northern South America. This amphibian is very odd for several reasons. Its appearance seems unworldly and is reminiscent of something from the Star Wars universe perhaps. A more anthropomorphized version of Pipa pipa could perhaps be found in Jabba the Hut’s lair or any Star Wars bar scene. A new Thai ad for Sylvania light bulbs showcases a bizarre line up of some of the country's most prominent, if little seen or heard inhabitants. Ghosts are more than just an integral part of Thai folklore. Their presence is expected, not just in myths and fables, but in everyday Thai life.
So when monsters, ghouls and other assorted creatures begin traipsing across the screen in this ad for Sylvania bulbs, Westerners might be startled, but Thais, you suspect, are barely ruffled.
Even more telling of the country's tolerance to otherworldly beings, none of the ghouls in the spot are of the Night of the Living Dead variety. Sure, some of them are dismembered and over 20 feet tall, but there is a sense of the lost and lonely rather than the fearful.
The highlight? When the little boy points at a strange looking apparition, and asks if it’s a ghost, and his father whispers, "No, son, that is just a transvestite" Enjoy.

According to Robbie Williams’ ex girlfriend Suzanne Coplin, the star has been demonstrating some very bizarre behaviour of late. She says his addictions are far from behind him, and he needs serious help. I don’t know about you guys, but I hate when a star’s ex-partner or friend spills personal info to the media, but come one, it’s interesting to read. So here are a few of the things she had to say about Robbie:
* He fled to LA five years ago believing everyone in Britain hated him;
* He trawls websites reading hate messages about himself, further fuelling his paranoia;
* He has given up on ever having children, claiming he has not had a proper girlfriend for nine years;
* He is obsessed with dieting after being dubbed “Blobby Williams”, and is addicted to calorie-free ice-cream, and;
* He offered to show her a doctor’s note proving he did not have a sexually transmitted disease.

The award for the worst excuse ever goes to dentist Dr. Mark Anderson who claimed that the breast fondling of 27 female patients was purely “professional”. He claims that the massaging of his patients’ chests was to treat temporo-mandibular joint disorder (TMJ), which is the cause of neck and head pain.
Not only that but attorney Rober Zao told administrative law judge Jonathan Lew that his client should be able to keep his licence so that he can feed his seven children and pay for his defence.
Having looked more at TMJ I cannot find anything about massaging the breasts and there is certainly nothing to suggest that having a sleazy dentist shove his hands into your bra is going to help.
It seems the judge has made no final decision. I say send him to the slammer!

Japan's cyber-suicide trend takes bizarre twistJustin McCurry in TokyoThursday October 11, 2007Guardian Unlimited Police in Japan have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a woman who had paid him to kill her after contacting him through the internet.Kazunari Saito allegedly fed a large quantity of sleeping pills to his victim, Sayaka Nishizawa, before suffocating her at her apartment in April, local media said.Nishizawa, 21, had contacted her killer days earlier via his mobile phone website, which he had set up to sell sleeping pills to people who were contemplating suicide.But in a bizarre variation on Japan's cyber-suicide trend, Nishizawa reportedly paid Mr Saito 200,000 yen to kill her, imploring him to stay with her until he was certain she was dead.Police initially attributed her death to suicide, but launched a criminal investigation after noticing that her keys and mobile phone were missing. It’s the third time I’ve sat in this bar, and it’s such an intriguing bar that I have to explain the concept behind it.
It’s a karaoke bar, of sorts.
Most of us know what a karaoke bar is, however what you may not be aware of is that in South East Asia (and even some other parts of Asia), there are generally two types of karaoke bar: one where you sing into a microphone, and one where she sings into your microphone (provided you are male & equipped with the appropriate hardware).
This particular Karaoke Bar is a third type, and brings fact to a previous rumour that I had heard and assumed was fiction - a practice called hanging flowers.
