      The Dundee Bistro
Traveling around the metro area (I wonder if folks count their currency differently here) WhopperChomper and ToastedBun are suspected of using burgers as a sponge in the wine country:1/2 pound Painted Hills beef, grilled red onion & white cheddar – ordered medium rare. Came with fries & some lettuce. I had high hopes for the $14 price tag. It was cooked just fine, but I found the grilled onion an uninspiring addition, and the white cheddar was overwhelming. ToastedBun says “it was pretty f-ing good, but I don’t know if it was worth $14”Dundee Bistro100 SW 7th St. #ADundee, OR 97115(503)554-1650

      Timbre Bistro/Bar @ Substation
I love to entertain people with the way I blog. I love to share my personal diet with ya'll on how to get skinny without the need of pills or even weird exercises like sit-ups and all that okay. That is all bullshits. So anyway, that's not the whole point I want to talk about.---------------There is no doubt that people hate me because I try so hard to stay thin as possible that some even thought I came out with stupid tips that might be a torture to people who thinspired to be skinny like Paris Hilton. A few thought that I did a whole sort of stupid things to get skinny like salading or biscuit-ing myself. I understood the emotions running through your mind alright. I really take that into consideration. So right now, I'm going to make ya'll happy and feel proud of myself. Since yesterday's

      Free Booze at Bistro Lepic
No this is not an April Fools joke. Grab a couple of your girls or guys and head on over to Bistro Lepic in Georgetown for their weekly Tuesday wine tasting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Learn about French wine through a guided sipping session with a sommelier ( a person who is trained and knowledgeable wine). Oh and sommelier is pronounced suh-mal- yAy. Class it up a bit so that you can impress your date or your friends the next time you order wine at dinner. C'est bon! Oh yea don't be a cheap ass and skip out after the tasting. Grab a glass or two and mingle. Who knows, you might meet Mr. Right or Right Now. wink! wink!Don't forget to dress to impress. A simple black dress and a vibrant colored pump or black slacks and a jeweled tone blouse will do the trick.

Dining at Bistro Renaissance in Dexter, Michigan this weekend
We enjoyed Dinner at one of our quaint restaurants in Dexter VillageThe Bistro Renaissance opened July 2007 for dinner.  It is located at8093 Main Street Dexter, Michigan  48130 (734) 426-4200.  They feature casual elegant dining, with classic French and Italian influences.  The fresh bread was good. And the pear salad was divine.  I chose the veal, mushrooms, and asparagus with a glass of champagne. I was very happy with that selection.  My husband said the beef was excellent. He finished his meal with a perfect crème brulee and a Spanish coffee.  Our server, Lisa was very professional and quick. When we have a chance to return, we will.  My only regret is that it is not open for lunch.  We did thank one of the owners on the way out and wished them much success.Click here to search all listings in Michigan with pictures and tours - FREE!Kathy Toth and Teamwww.KathyToth.comReal Estate One

      Date at the Bistro
Saturday night. There’s a cool little bistro in town. Reservations not needed. Menu consists of seasonal game and vegetables, plus freshly made desserts like vanilla ice cream laced with lavender buds. It’s casual with an haute edge. Apropos of this occasion would be a day dress re-wired with shiny metal. That would be gold in this case. Forget the filigreed Victorian stuff.  Instead, go for solid bold pieces and celebrate the hardware. Play up the simple lines of the shift dress with an unfussy coat. Bonus: all the accessories are seasonless, at ease with formal black as well as summer ivories. Bon appétit. Starting from left– IRO, Wrap Jacket in Gris/Beige, 87% wool/13% cotton tweed coat with off-center, single-button closure at front and slant pockets at hip. 11″ vent at back. Long sleeves, lined, 36″ long, made in France, $477, @ shopbop. Diane Von Furstenberg, Aretha Dress, 95% silk/5% lycra stretch-silk dress with ruffle trim at collar

Hamersley’s Bistro and Atelier 505 Two of a Kind
It’s no surprise that a stone’s throw from one of the South End’s most upscale condo developments, Atelier 505, sits one of the South End’s most coveted French restaurants, Hamersley’s Bistro. The two are similar on many counts, along with several distinctions. Condos at Atelier 505 mimic the availability of tables at Hamersley’s. There are currently two units for sale at Atelier 505 (see PDF for more details), priced from $940,000 to $1,495,000. A table at Hamersley’s Bistro seems just as rare with coveted weekend time slots filling up weeks in advance, and larger parties without reservations being turned away at the door. Price per square foot at Atelier, and menu prices at Hamersley’s, are high for the overall area, but commensurate with your expectations. Ambiance, quality, and experience are stellar at both establishments. You’ll be greeted at the doors with a warm welcome, however, the wait staff at Hamersley’s is p

      Bob's Southern Bistro Closing
If you haven't tried their Sunday Jazz Brunch, you better make your reservations soon because Bob's Southern Bistro won't be around much longer. An article in yesterday's Globe (here) talks a bit about what will be happening to the space after Bob's closes on November 25th. Settles, whose name has been associated with Boston's jazz scene over the past decade, told the Globe yesterday that he is selling the South End institution to Malcolm Aalders, a 28-year-old Cleveland native who recently moved to Boston from the Netherlands.Aalders will take over the space in December and plans to rename it Night Town. The menu will feature American cuisine, and live musical performances will range from rock to funk to jazz to "whatever people want," Aalders said yesterday. "We'll have the best burger in the Greater Boston area," he added. The "best burger in the Greater Boston area." Bold claim. We'll see in December if Mr. Aalders pulls through. I will miss Bob's fried chicken, but a g

Paul Martin's American Bistro Grand Opening
As we had a good friend in town last night we decided to take him to Paul Martin's American Bistro where we went for the soft opening last Friday (read my review here). This was their first night open to the public and we thought it would be a great opportunity to try out the dinner menu.We originally had reservations for 7:15 pm, and because we were awaiting a third party we had to change the time. Though they were booked up, the staff was very accommodating to our needs and demonstrated first rate service. At arrival we sat down in the bar while waiting for our friend to arrive. I was very pleased to see that they had quite a few wines by the glass and not afraid to put some more pricey wines in that category as well. We ordered the Sonoma Coast Vineyards, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ($19), as we had this a while back and really enjoyed it (read my review here). A new bottle was opened for us, and we were not disappointed by our choice. A nice touch is that wines by the glass are served

      Paul Martin's American Bistro, Roseville
Paul Martin’s American Bistro is having its grand opening tomorrow, Monday, at Eureka Rd in Roseville. I got a preview and tasted their food at the soft opening Friday at lunch with my husband and a friend. The restaurant is a joint venture by Brian Bennett and Paul Flemming. Executive chef is Peter Serantoni and the Day-to-Day Head Chef is Scott Rose that has previously been at Spataro Restaurant and Bar, and Paragary's Bar and Oven, among others. The goal for the restaurant is to concentrate on seasonal, sustainable, and organic ingredients, sourced from local farmers/producers.The restaurant has a modern, sleek, warm, decor with brick wall accent, brown leather, and a lot of wood. The large bar covers a full wall of the restaurant and serves up a long list of specialty drinks made with their own fruit infused vodkas, and more.We were seated promptly and ordered a bottle of ZD 2006 Chardonnay (a wine we have enjoyed many times), and were served bread and butter. The butter is hand

For Food, Drink and ambiance.  We’ve not had or heard of anything but great experiences here at Black Creek Bistro, at the corner of Oak and Parsons Avenue.  Since I moved to the neighborhood, this location has housed several different eateries, most notably Elemental.  I hope Black Creek Bistro has a long, long stay. See the Restaurant Widow’s excellent review here. We need more eating and drinking options in the neighborhood though.  Lots of spots within the community are available so call me, we’ll buy you a building and you can get to work on that fast-casual Mexican place we need. Also, don’t forget to frequent the Cara Bar.  An excellent establishment for drinking and eating and listening to bands. add to:

      Citronee Bistro and Wine Bar
June, me and Robyn in Nevada CityMyself and two friends spent the whole day, Monday, up in Nevada City, celebrating a birthday. We started of with a pedicure, went on to lunch, and after that, spent the afternoon shopping and wine tasting. For dinner we went to Citronee Bistro and Wine Bar. Never having been to Nevada City before I had done some previous research online to check out some good places, and this one was on the top of my list. We started of with a wine tasting paired with cheese by the Chef Robert Perez, in the Wine Bar. After taking a look at the menu we decided to stay for dinner for sure.We started of by sharing the Scottish Salmon (cured lox style) on Belgian Endive and Baby Greens with a delicious Citrusy Vinaigrette. Very fresh and a great start to the meal. The acidity in the citrusy vinaigrette cut perfectly through the fatty salmon. For entre I had the "Today's Special", Braised Short Ribs with Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes and a Red Wine Reduction.
