Some of the obstacles have been taken out due to they want the trails to be more hiker friendly because of the condos that are being built next to the park. The company also has other product lines, which includes racing bicycles, frames, parts and accessories The company has been dubbed as the "fun" bike company for its unconventional yet crazy bike names. Snow on the ground, I'd rather be biking...
It is winter in New England and the snow has covered the ground, then rain fell upon the snow and the beautiful looking snow is a thick hard mass of evil. The snow is so hard and the weather has been so cold that we have gotten thick ice all over the driveway and walkways. The dogs cannot even walk anywhere because it is so cold and hard and sharp and dangerous. So I've started to think about the summer and long for the beach. A time when I can get back out on the water in my kayak or cruising the bike path on my bike. What I'd really like to be able to do is cruise along the bike path on a beach cruiser bike. The one s that I would love to have are either the 26" Man Deluxe Thick Frame Beach Cruiser - Blue or the 26" Man Deluxe All Black Beach Cruiser to use to cruise along the beaches of Cape Cod.I would also like to be able to use some cruiser bikes at my in-laws in Florida. That way I could ride around down there in beautiful weather each time I went for a visit. Staying active is

We went to Pocahontas Park and we did the Red Trail. IT was fun as we had not ridden it in a long time. The redid a section of the trial and made a Half-Pipe out of it. I saw it and rode it several weeks ago with Mark. I will have some video clips of a few parts of the trial. Jeff brought his camera and we used the video function. After we rode the Red, We went to the Green trial and it was a good fun ride on that trial we had 6.69 miles when we made it back to the Quala Lot. I hope to get some more ridding in this weekend!! Women Mountain Biking: Looking Beyond The Risks
By: David FaulknerThe old saw about women being the weaker sex has, in recent decade, come up for debate as increasing numbers of women have begun to excel at many of the sports which were once considered the exclusive provinces of men. Women have even begun to compete in extreme sports, including mountain biking. There is no anatomical reason why women mountain biking cannot manage the strong pedaling required, and enough of them have now taken up the sport that they are no longer a rarity on the mountain biking trails. But mountain biking, like any sport, can cause long-term health consequences in its participants. There us a question of whether or not women mountain biking are endangering their reproductive systems. Research has indicated that male mountain bikers significantly increase their risk of scrotal damage overtime; there is good reason to think the women might also be at reproductive risk. The Risks Of Women Mountain BikingThe studies done on men show that they may experience

      Clothing For Mountain Biking
By: James GunaseelanMountain biking is great fun but it is also physically demanding, and if you take a tumble youll want to know you are protected from injury as much as possible. Thats why mountain bike clothing is designed specifically to meet the demands of this sport. If youre a beginner or just an occasional mountain biker then a pair of comfortable tracksuit bottoms, a long sleeved t-shirt and the obligatory helmet will suffice. You might also want to put some gloves on to protect your hands. If youre a regular mountain biker however, it might be worth investing in some proper cycling gear. Comfort, protection and strong breathable fabrics are the watch words to look out for. These are perhaps the most familiar pieces of mountain bike clothing for most people. When you are buying this kind of mountain bike clothing youll find that theyre mostly made from microfleece or quick dry fabrics. Cycle shorts are usually double layered around the seat area for comfort. Youll be glad of th

Girls Mountain Biking Catching Up With The Boys
By: David FaulknerOne of the greatest appeals of mountain biking is that it is a unisex sport. Mountain biking does not discriminate on the basis of gender. Nor does it eliminate participants due to their ages or ethnicities; in its early years it was largely the domain of men and boys, but now women and girl mountain bikers are joining the fun in record numbers. Girls mountain biking has begun to achieve prominence in the sport, thanks to the teams of girls mountain bikers fielded by many US high schools. High school mountain biking programs allow female students to master the techniques necessary to succeed in girls mountain biking competitions, and many of them are the equal of the male bikers in their schools. NorCalThe NorCal High School Mountain Bike League, founded in 2001, opened up the world of girls mountain biking to Elena Spittler, who was the leagues girls mountain biking champion in 2005. Mountain Biking History
By: James GunaseelanPeople use bicycles for many different reasons. They are a great means of transport for getting to and from work, you can fit your shopping into the baskets available to attach to the front, and they provide a wonderful way to travel when on holiday and exploring different areas. People have always ridden off road as well as on it, but the history of mountain biking really begins more than thirty years ago, in the 1970s. Modern bike designs have made the sport more accessible to more people, and the history of mountain biking certainly shows it is now even more popular than ever. But although mountain biking is now enjoyed all over the world, it began life in California, America. A group of cycle enthusiasts decided to try out some downhill runs on bikes that would now seem antiquated to many of us. The dirt tracks were much the same as many mountain bike race courses today, but the bikes have changed considerably over the intervening years. Those races became famous

But the category on mountain biking most likely to appeal to the daredevils among us is extreme mountain biking, which offers the best bikers challenges sure to get their adrenaline levels soaring! The risks, stunts, and technically challenging courses from which extreme mountain biking gets its name make extreme mountain bikers a breed apart from the athletes in other cycling sports. Those riders who excel at extreme mountain biking have worked for years to hone their skills, and can still be surprised by the obstacles and unpredictable terrains thrown at them by the organizers of extreme mountain biking competitions. Biking, hiking and camping on the dry side of the Cascades
Wenatchee Confluence State Park is one of many dry-side parks that offer opportunities for one (or maybe even two) more camping trips before the rains come and the tent, tarps and RV are put away for the year. State parks such as Pearrygin Lake, Yakima Sportsman and Lake Wenatchee still offer sun if not the 90-degree temps of summer. Plus, in fall, it's a heck of a lot easier to get a campsite at such parks. No need to reserve a site months in advance; just show up and you should have the pick of the sites, perhaps even that primo spot that in summer you could only dream about landing.

      Know Mountain Biking
By: James GunaseelanMountain biking is a very enjoyable sport. You get to exercise and see the countryside at the same time. If you enjoy going outdoors and wish to get a form of exercise, too, you should get a bike and go mountain biking. A mountain bike is technically different from a road bike and a BMX. Mountain biking tires are usually fat tires with knobbies which makes it easier for them to go up mountains and traverse rough roads. The knobbies virtually grip the loose rock and rough roads to go faster compared to a road bikes smooth tires. A road bikes tires are specifically designed to run faster on a smooth road. The frame or body of the mountain bike is also larger and sometimes heavier than a road bike. This is due mainly to all the pressure it gets from the rider who exerts effort to go faster on a rough road. Mountain biking parts are not as light weight as the road bike parts although some frames and components have gotten lighter over the years. There are many varieties

      Preventing Mountain Biking Injuries

As with any sport, mountain biking can cause injuries, these can range from minor to severe. Learning what causes mountain biking injuries and how to prevent them can help participants safely maneuver through this highly energetic sport.Like other sports, it is important to have the correct equipment when mountain biking. If you are a novice, learning about what equipment can be used is an important first step in getting involved in the sport of mountain biking. Mountain Biking Facts
As the popularity of mountain biking soars, so do the number of injuries. An estimated 8.6 million cyclists hit the trails in 1998, nearly double the number in 1993. A 12-month study conducted by Dr. Lee Jeys of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital found that nearly half of the injuries were fractures, particularly to the collarbone and shoulder. Head and neck injuries were also common. Cyclists are urged to wear protective gear, including a helmet and wrist and knee pads, to reduce the risk of serious injuries. Mountain Biking - Not Just Going Down Mountains
By Alastair Hamilton If you're a bicycle enthusiast, but have only tried cycling on the road, it's time you gave mountain biking a try. By mountain biking, I mean more than heading down an actual mountain - although that what most people think about when they hear the phrase "Mountain biking."However, mountain bikes - light bikes with fat tires and front suspension - make it easy to go cross country riding as well.So even if you live in an area that has no mountains - get yourself a mountain bike anyway! Those fat tires make for a nice ride - and as long as they're properly inflated they can go almost as fast as the thinner tires of road bikes, but you don't need to worry about going up curbs or down curbs. There are three styles of mountain biking - the one everyone thinks of which is downhill riding, free riding, and cross country. If you're a professional cyclist or a dedicated amateur you'll want to buy a bike specifically designed for each style, but if you're a casual cycli

They think it is meant for extreme sport enthusiasts and is filled with total insanity. Those who are really enthusiastic about mountain bike come from the cross-country mountains. It is most surprising to know that. They use their mountain bike as a fitness tool and just like to get out and about in the countryside. Besides being softer and less strenuous to your joints other than running for instance cycling is certainly great for stamina building. Further cycling is a great activity to choose for exploring a new place when on holiday and it further accentuates you to venture into more miles as compared to that covered on foot.Huge numbers of companies are now offering cycling and mountain bike holidays and this shows the growing popularity of mountain biking.
