In 2006 the voters refused to write discrimination into the Arizona State Constitution. But the God fearing Republicans are trying again. In the waning days of the legislative session, after violating at least two laws, and possibly the Arizona Constitution itself, in order to artificially balance the grotesque state debt, the Senate finally managed to get a proposed constitutional amendmen
This week, Adam Sessler discusses the racist homophobes we run across too often while playing games online. He’s right about the fact that it’s usually the young 10-year old gamers taking part in this and they are honestly ruining the fun of playing online. It’s gotten so bad in Halo 3 that I [...]
I was considering leaving this mostly unfounded jab fall by the wayside, but I see Dr. Dawg has responded eloquently to it already. I just would like to point out though, that one week we’re “self-centered bigots” for not knowing something took place, and the next week we’re supporters of “fringe anarchists” and “paranoid fabulists” [...]
Pennsylvania State Senator Mike Brubaker might be sponsoring legislation that alter his state's most precious governing document so that it explicitly bans its gay tax-paying citizens from the freedom to marry. But don't you DARE call him a "bigot." This...

Bigots with guns: “[W]e need the National Guard to clean out all our cities and round them up. They are hard-core criminals. They have no problem slitting your throat and taking your money or selling drugs to your kids or raping your daughters, and they are evil people.” — Chris Simcox, co-founder [...]

Dean Howard wants Democratic politicians to woo the Christian right with their “values” because ‘we’ Democrats have a lot in common with them. Funny, I don’t count doing one’s best to ensure one group of Americans remain second-class citizens and trying to strip another group of Americans of our rights a “value”. I call it it a well spun lie that covers up the actual belief that white straight male Christians are our rightful masters that occasionally gets aired for all the people to see:
Bill O’Reilly: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I, and they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically break down the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you’ve got to cap with a number.
And what are some things that “break down the w
Sir Elton John is asking on people to stand up to bigots, he has asked people to “shout back.” He also said “We should all stand up and speak out for… basic human rights.”
Elton has always been a man that is proud of being gay, and has never hid the fact either. He has also stated “Men and women are persecuted and attacked every day all over the world, just because of who they love and who they make love to.”
Elton John has always been one to stand up for what he believes, and feels that there are just too many homophobes in the world, and that they need to learn to live with who people fall in love with no matter what sex that may be.

The students' association at Carleton University voted overwhelmingly (25-5) to ban all pro-life groups on campus from receiving funding for their oh so treacherous views. I guess no one gave them the memo that some one-third of Canadians are pro-life and two-thirds want some degree of restriction on abortion that does not exist at the moment. That means the majority of Canadians have a view that is not sanctioned by the Carleton University students' association. I mean, where do they draw the line? What if someone started a club that promoted restrictions on abortion? Would they be denied funding as well? Would the view that the majority of Canadians hold be regarded as "wrong" and "unsupported" by the CUSA as well? There is no grey area in this issue, CUSA vice-president Shelley Melanson. The university campus in a place for a free exchange of ideas, some of whom are less widely accepted than the pro-life position, which is not extremist in any sense. Anything less would be bigoted v
Welcome to Rhea County, Tennessee! Home of...well, I have no idea actually. At least it's not home to any illegal homosexual activity. Fortunately they rescinded that one. That's right, the county commission of Rhea County, Tennessee unanimously supported a proposal that criminalized homosexuality as a crime against nature in Tennessee. That's not just a ban on gay marriage, it's a ban on gays, period. Nothing says progress like throwing people in jail for being gay. I imagine slavery and debtors prison were probably also on the list as well.As frightening as this is to even consider, there are several pieces of good news associated with it.First, the legislation was rescinded two days after it was proposed - supposedly because the county commissioners didn't understand that they were voting to ban homosexuality. Talk about lesser of two evils - either you're Nazis or idiots - neither option would inspire any confidence in an elected official. The second bit of good news is
It's a sad sad day when you can't even put a light hearted equality education program out there without some hate group slamming it down. The folks over at www.borndifferent.com have a great showcase to help people understand the idea of other people being born gay - in reference to the myriad of research affirming biological differences between homosexuals and heterosexuals. It's a neat site and they bring up some great points. It's all done in a fun and non-confrontational way and is centered around a dog named Norman who says "moo" instead of "woof". The campaign aired in the Colorado Springs area.Of course without missing a beat, one of the pre-eminent hate groups, Focus on the Family trotted out a rebuttal with their own dog Sherman, who barks as "biology intended." The counter-site goes on allegedly refute the scientific claims. We all know James Dobson and FOF are notorious for fabricating and misrepresenting research, so I don't think there is anything really big there.
The tide of public opinion in Scotland is turning slowly but remorselessly against the redneck tribalism of the Old Firm:
REGULARS at a venue once described as "the best rangers supporters' pub in the world" have been banned from singing hate-filled sectarian songs, it emerged yesterday.
Anyone breaking the rule on bigoted songs will be barred from the Louden Tavern in Glasgow's East End.
