Many/most libertarians, of course, would probably point out that their major beef with liberals/Progressives is over the liberal/Progressive assertion that the last 25

Later he wrote a book called Microtrends along with Kinney Zalesne. He defines a microtrend as affecting a small percentage of the population that can have a large impact on society as a whole: "a microtrend can be as small as 3 million people, or about 1 percent of the American population, and even if that group never grows, it can still have enormous impact on society." Those people in a microtrend "share an intense choice or preference, that is often counterintuitive and has sometimes been missed or undercounted by the companies, marketers, policymakers, and others." Big Business: Wildlife Trafficking | Newsweek Animals and Pets | Newsweek.com
This makes me SO MAD! What's wrong with these people?! Not only is this cruel and unnecessary but it's short sighted and so far short of strategic it's tragic. These people are stealing the future right out of the hands of their children! I can't even WRITE about this, I get so mad. The saddest part of this is that international governments are so much less likely to care about the decimation of priceless animal species than they are about a couple of dollars a barrel for crude. If governments can sit by and watch civil wars and genocide, what hope is there for the animals?! Big Business: Wildlife Trafficking | Newsweek Animals and Pets | Newsweek.com

Big business is serious about most of its Bali Communique - but possibly not all of it
There have been two significant statements on climate change from big business over the past week: the Confederation of British Industry’s climate change task force published its report, and the Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change sent a communiqué to the delegates in Bali. Civil society gave a guarded welcome to both. Greenpeace applauded the content of the communiqué but called it “deeply ironic that among [the CLGCC’s] numbers are companies such as BAA and Eon which are lobbying the UK government for more runways and new coal fired power stations”. Plane Stupid paid the CLGCC a compliment, calling them a “radical fringe of corporate citizens”, but quoted their CLGCC ‘source’ saying “let’s face it; this is just another attempt by us to look green. It’ll be business as usual in the morning - I guarantee it!” The communiqué is big business telling politicians to stop dithering and put a clear single international framework in place. This is

Miracles: Big Business for the Pope & Sathya Sai Baba
“I Believe in Miracles” from the BBC shows how miracles and saints are vital to the emotional and financial power of the Catholic Church. (see here) Six million pilgrims per year visit Lourdes, most of them reportedly hoping for a miracle cure from the Lady of Lourdes, who is said to have cured in 87 cases since her visions of the ‘Immaculate Conception’. Despite that, no cure has been confirmed there by the Committee which decides on this since 1987. This does not stop people believing that they have been cured or that others have. That is the name of the game – involving hope, faith, confession, conviction, desperation and witnessing to the Lord’s power etc.  The funds for eight churches in Lourdes have been gathered and business is booming – all kinds of bric-a-brac from icons to rosaries – and bizarrely not even excluding Lourdes ‘pill boxes’ (to supply the very big market of uncured pill-takers, no doubt). This souvenir business is also very flourishing a

If you are a small business or developing an internet web site that will sell products and services, the chances are you will go head to head with many larger businesses. With so many large businesses and corporations trying to sell their products and services over the internet, it can seem very difficult to make inroads. You can set up a business on Ebay very easily and sell unique T-shirts to phone accessories to antiques. .Competing with big business via web sites is s

妹妹 has this funny habit of doing her big business whilst standing. Maybe it’s because her poo is usually hard, so it’s easier. I started toilet training 哥哥 when he was around 妹妹’s age now. I let him sit on the potty seat (on top of the adult W.C.) everyday at around the same time to let him try to poo.For 妹妹, it’s a different case. She is reluctant to poo at specific timing. Maybe of her hard poo again. So I have to catch her while she is trying to ‘force it out’. So far I have been successful twice but I have to sit with her!!Sigh! 妈妈 now has a new role – Poo Catcher!!!

Breast Boosting Beer from Bulgaria is Big Business
News reports out of Europe suggest that one of the biggest benefits of allowing Bulgaria to join the European Union just might be women with larger breasts. That's if you believe the hype around Boza beer.Either European men said to be flocking to buy Boza beer for their wives and girlfriends are gullible, or the company behind the brew will soon become one of the largest brewers in the world. Boza beer, made from fermented millet or wheat flour and yeast, is said to cause female consumers to grow larger breasts. Boza has become the rage among shopkeepers and bar owners in several parts of Europe now that high duties have been eliminated with Bulgaria in the EU. None of the news reports on Boza's reputed miracle qualities cite any scientific data. Boza is commonly consumed with breakfast in Bulgaria and nearby countries, which tends to make me think that what we may be dealing with here is a confirmed mass case of beer goggles.
