WAS dethroned Philadelphia newsgal Alycia Lane the target of a diabolical plot by her former co-anchor to destroy her career?
That bizarre scenario seems possible, say pals of the dark-haired beauty. It’s popped up now that Emmy-winner Larry Mendte of CBS affiliate KYW-TV has been booted off the air because of an FBI probe. Last month, [...]
They needed the work and spoke English, so the two Iraqi men, Adnan and Laith, grabbed the chance to work as translators for the U.S. military in Baghdad, as did thousands of their compatriots. Yes, the job offered a steady paycheck in a war-torn nation with a shattered economy. But it may not have been worth the cost. The nagging fear of being branded a traitor and marked for death, by one I
Let me be explicit about something bubbling beneath the surface in my various posts on HRC's decision to endorse Sen. Collins.Namely: Other progressive interest groups have absolutely no business going there. And it'll be a scandal if they do.I cut HRC some slack on the Collins endorsement because the junior senator has a genuinely respectable record on their agenda. She's been willing to buck her party and her president, and she's done it repeatedly.Clearly, Rep. Allen has a substantially better record. But I can almost forgive HRC's decision, flawed as it was, because Collins has at least stuck her neck out on gay and lesbian issues. But when it comes to just about every other area in the progressive interest group universe, it's a totally different story.Whether you're talking about abor

''Among the Betrayed'' is the first book that is not told from the point of view of Luke Garner, but instead is told from the point of view of Nina Idi, the girl who was arrested along with Jason Barstow at the end of ''Among the Imposters''. It is revealed that unlike Jason, who was a member of the [[Population Police]], Nina was actually another third child who ended up becoming Jason's pawn.

Mumbai, April 7 (IANS) After a stellar performance in 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' and 'Kal - Yesterday And Tomorrow', actress Chitrangada Singh bowed out of the industry because she felt 'betrayed' and cheated.
March 21, 2008Lauren Conrad is speaking out on claims that she was feeling “betrayed” by her friends Audrina Patridge and Brody Jenner — and insists, “I love them both.” In a posting Thursday on her MySpace Celebrity blog, Conrad, 22, wrote: Hey! I just wanted to take a moment to clear something up. I recently did an interview to talk about the show coming back on and what everyone had to look forward to. Unfortunately it was turned into yet another “poor me” story. The article itself is a nice one but it follows headlines that, in no way, represent my words or feelings. I do not feel betrayed by Audrina or Brody. I love them both and said nothing to contradict this. I understand that headlines sell magazines, but I value my friendships above magazine sales any day. MTV The Hills‘ Lauren Conrad is unhappy with the current issue of US Weekly, that says on its cover she was “Betrayed” by her friends.
Now LC is speaking out, in her new blog posting.

I love Friends. In college, I lived and breathed Friends. I wrote my thesis on Friends. I worshiped the ground that Marta Kauffman and David Crane walk on. I watch the reruns every night, just so I can pretend it's still on. But last night, when I sat down for my nightly dose of a syndicated pick-me-up, I was severely disappointed. It was like being betrayed by my usually loyal best friend. It was unexpected and a little bit traumatic. In the late-in-the-series 9th season episode that aired in syndication the other day, titled "The One with Phoebe's Rats," my beloved Friends resorted to a joke that not only have they used before, but that they are most definitely above.Amidst all of the other chaos in the episode, which includes Phoebe keeping rats as pets and Rachel having a birthda
Ever since I headed off to college, and started hiking out west, I have been drinking from my Nalgene bottle. All through college, schlepping a bottle to class and on countless backpacking and camping trips, my trusted Nalgene was there. I even remember one very cold, long backpacking trip where I filled a Nalgene with hot water, and slept holding it in an attempt to stay warm. Then they came out with the lovely skinny necked bottles. I used those all through grad school and in my first years of teaching. I used them until a few years ago when I first heard about Bisphenol-A in polycarbonate (#7) plastics. When I searched for a new water bottle, I was surprised to learn that our local sports store still only carried the colorful new (although toxic) bottles. And I was seeing toddlers

While Madonna was raising millions of dollars across town, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick and Pippin Parker were busy at the opening night of “Betrayed.” The Sex and the City actress and her Ferris Bueller actor husband were spotted outside the Culture Project Theater in New York City looking happy and excited to see the show. SJP wore a tweed jacket overtop an unusual printed/pinstripe ensemble that defies description, while her more conservative husband opted for a dark suit. Pretty soon, Parker will be helping aspiring artists make their name in the art world. Reportedly her production firm Pretty Matches has teamed up with the producers of “Project Runway” and “Top Chef” to create a series wherein 12 artists compete for the chance to win a gallery show, along with
We've been fans of the show Dog the Bounty Hunter for years now. It's one of our favorite programs on television. It's cool to watch the Chapman family bust criminal ass in Hawaii. Unfortunately, the recent news about the Dog's inappropriate and tape recorded racist rant about his son's girlfriend has tarnished the show. In fact, the whole thing is quite disturbing to say the least. And that's regardless of whether it was taken out of context or not. While I definitely don't condone such remarks and racist mentality, the fact that Dog was sold out by his ex-con son for a large sum of money is just wrong on so many levels. His son, Tucker, is not featured on the show. Maybe he's jealous of the rest of his family's success and his revenge is to ruin their reputations and careers for cash. Given his past criminal record, he'll probably use the money to buy drugs or get into some other trouble. He'll probably be in jail in no time at all. (the son, Tucker)I do give props to Dog f
I hate going so long between posts, but I'm still fighting with the switch in meds. I know that I am so blessed in my life, I count my blessings every day. I love my husband, children, family, friends, and job. I have so many things I am grateful for, but when the pain from my rheumatoid arthritis is as bad as its been lately, it's hard for me to think about anything else. I don't blog, because I don't feel that I have much to say that wouldn't come across as whining, and I hate whining, especially from me! This post is torture to even write, but I think it's important to explain why sometimes I post every day and other times it's a week between entries. Last night I got enough sleep and woke up without crying in pain for the first time in a week. As of tonight, I'm setting myself an earlier bedtime so that I don't let myself or anyone else down by being unable to do all I need to.The Betrayed by Lisa Bergren is a thrill-ride in the vein of The DaVinci Code and The Rule of Fou

LESS than four years after guiding Penrith to the 2003 premiership, veteran hooker Luke Priddis says he feels betrayed after being told yesterday that he is no longer part of the club’s plans.
Priddis and Panthers back rower Tony Puletua were officially told by Penrith football manager Mick Leary yesterday that, after consultation with coach Matthew Elliott, they were free to negotiate their futures with other clubs.
When asked if he felt betrayed Priddis said: "Yeah. I’m not more…
Last week the Democrats sold out the American public and gave what can only be called a ‘blank check’ to the boy king for his war in Iraq. Keith Olbermann took them to task for their betrayal in a special comment that I can only say “hell yeah!” to:

For, ultimately, at this hour, the entire government has failed us.
Mr. Reid, Mr. Hoyer, and the other Democrats… have failed us.
They negotiated away that which they did not own, but had only been entrusted by us to protect: our collective will as the citizens of this country, that this brazen War of Lies be ended as rapidly and safely as possible.
Mr. Bush and his government… have failed us.
They have behaved venomously and without dignity - of course.
Amir Taheri - While elements of the Left in the United States and Europe are calling on Western democracies to abandon Afghanistan and Iraq to the Taliban and al Qaeda and surrender to the Khomeinists in Iran, new alliances are emerging against the jihadists in the region. In much of the Middle East, most notably Afghanistan and Iraq, the Left is part of these new alliances. * In Iraq, two rival Communist parties, along with Social Democrats and other center-left groups, supported the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and continue to play a significant role in the new pluralist system. They are resolutely opposed to a premature withdrawal of American and allied forces, as demanded by the U.S. Congress. * In Lebanon, Walid Jumblatt's Progressive Socialist Party is at the heart of the democratic movement to against the Islamic Republic's attempt to dominate the country through its Hezbollah surrogates. The Lebanese democratic movement includes other parties of the Left, notably the Socialist
Last November we voted the Democrats in position because they promised us the reward of working in our interests. Slaps head...we could have had a V-8! I think the reality is that we really in the end knew this would happen. Oh...we didn't want it to...hoped it wouldn't...despite our honest efforts to prevent it. Our situation with the leadership that we have is just a pus filled sore waiting to split open and dump its contents onto an unsuspecting multitude of good honest folk. We actually believed our leaders and trusted them to do right by us...for one, they said that they would. I'm cynical just about all the time...and even I bought into it...because I desperately wanted someone to genuinely care. We've needed someone to care about 'we the people' for 6 years now and counting. I feel I've pathetically had unrealistic hopes of a better world, better America...better everything because I want it desperately for all of us. I'm not a selfish person...I'm willing to share the g
Terror group says it cannot 'keep silent' over Hamas path 'which will lead to hell'.Hamas has been accused of "betraying its own martyrs and God" during a recent statement issued by al-Qaeda.A video made by al-Qaeda leader Yahya al-Libi, who is in Afghanistan, was released at the end of April. Ynetnews has obtained the full recording, one of a number of growing scathing verbal attacks on Hamas by al-Qaeda."I am sending this message to the people of Palestine, whose blood is being shed by the Jewish occupiers," al-Libi said. "Hamas has abandoned jihad for politics. It has betrayed its youths. Its main activity is politics. Since its decision to go down the path of politics, Hamas has begun to descend on a downhill slope. They betrayed the dreams of their young fighters and they stabbed them in the back," al-Libi added.More

A shocking turn in the case of the two former Border Patrol agents after an official from the Department of Homeland Security says the department lied to Congress about the agents admitting guilt in the case. We’ll have a special report.

Congressman calls for ouster of DHS deputies after IG admits agency gave false information
As WND reported, at a congressional hearing yesterday, Rep. John Culberson of Texas confronted DHS Inspector General Richard Skinner about his agency’s claim it had documentary proof of the guilt of former agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
“Richard Skinner admitted yesterday under oath that his top deputies gave members of Congress false information painting Border Patrol agents as rogue cops who were not in fear for their lives and who were ‘out to shoot Mexicans,’” Culberson said in a statement. Read more
As you can imagine, GM's decision to close their Oshawa truck assembly plant in Ontario, Canada doesn't set well with the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW). "It's nothing short of betrayal," CAW Oshawa branch president Chris Buckley told Reuters. "General Motors is going to produce our truck in Mexico and the United States. That's absolutely disgusting."
