The sordid saga continues. Betrayal, a form of deception or dismissal of prior presumptions, is the breaking or violation of a presumptive social contract (trust, or confidence) that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals, between organizations or between individuals and organizations. Often betrayal is the act of supporting a rival group, or it is a complete break from previousl

With GoW: Chains of Olympus hitting PSP it's a good time to remember the one and sadly only God of war mobile game so far. Namely the God of war: Betrayal - an action platformer game (somewhat similar to The witcher- Crimson trail) that saw the light of the day some time in the second half of the last year. The game had great graphics and sound and was visually as god of war-ly as possible - you had digital intestines and gushing blood all over the screen of your mobile. In fact the game mechanics worked so well that Gameloft obviously borrowed some of them (namely the finishing moves) in their so called hit Beowulf :) Cutting through a number of opponents and bosses can get a little tedious at times, but the action is intensive enough so that you don't feel real boredom. Besides,

An erosion of democracy:-
By The Nassau Institute -
Nassau, Bahamas:
The new European Union treaty approved at a summit of member states in Lisbon in October, 2007, has attracted fierce opposition in Britain. It has been labeled "the great EU betrayal".
The controversy is as much about the accountability of an elected government to its voters, and the implications for democracy, as the nature of the new powers ceded to unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.
In an article published in The Tribune last October, the Nassau Institute examined the debate leading up to the EU summit meeting. The treaty was designed, ostensibly, to improve the working of the EU's existing institutions, though many claimed that it was identical to the new EU constitution which had been rejected by French and Du

When Jonathan Danter picks up the phone on a gray November day, he has no idea what dangerous adventures await him. The caller is a detective from Scotland Yard and he informs him that his uncle Frank was found murdered by London police. Jonathan always believed that his uncle had died 10 years ago… Upon his return from his uncle’s funeral he is attacked by an unknown assailant in his apartment. He manages to send the intruder running, but soon he realizes that he will have to investigate these incidences himself if he wants to stay alive. Ancient cathedrals with secret catacombs, gloomy libraries that stock books that should have been destroyed in the inquisition, mysterious monasteries in deep and dark woods – these are the elements used to construct this first-class adventure game

Even though our country has pioneered many major medical developments, millions of Americans do not have access to needed medical care. The growth of the nation’s uninsured population is about to reach it’s breaking point. With his long awaited promise to veto, President Bush vetoed legislation, State Children Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), that would have doubled the number - from 4 million to 8 million - of low-income children covered.
In a 67-29 vote - enough to override a veto that Bush had promised - the Senate voted to increase spending on SCHIP from about $5 billion to $12 billion each year for the next five. In the House, however, despite the support of 45 Republicans, it still fell short of the two-thirds needed to override Bush’s veto.
Criticism of health care in the United States usually focuses primarily on the millions of Americans who lack health insurance of any kind. There are many reasons why so many Americans are finding themselves uninsured. The

Salvador was the only person dressed in formal funeral attire. He looked like a Salvador right from his black, intensely polished black shoes to the shiny surface of his slicked-back hair. His high, narrow forehead was creased into a frown against the heat of the sun which beat down mercilessly upon the graveyard. The smell of freshly-dug mud wafted through the air and mingled with the smell of incense and long dead flowers. The altar boys perspired heavily under their habits and the priest was trying his best to prevent the rivulets that were originating at the top of his balding head from running into his eyes. The heat stung Father enough to blur his vision with unintentional tears as he murmured the words from memory. The platitudes came easily and he was already thinking about what a pleasure it would be to get out of the

Back stabbing another word for betrayal, well i gathered a lot about this subject and been through it many times, the disrespect of trust, like a knife going through your back slowly and painfully.Betrayal is not only done by a lover but also by friends the two differs from one another but still the same in concept, it includes lying, and dishonesty, for some reason its the human nature to lie, but betrayal is not just lying but also causing pain to another person. To be betrayed by love means to be cheated upon or lied to in many ways, like going out with another guy behind your back or having two BFs/GFs at the same time, and a lot more, the funny thing these days is that people are finding reasons to legit the act of betraying, many reasons I've heard such as "ohh got bored wanted to play around a bit no harm is done" or "I was under so much stress and i needed a change" these are only examples, and people are finding it normal to betray because of such reasons, well its still betra
Alec Rawls, who blogged about the attempt to foist a memorial design in the shape of an Islamic crescent on the victims of Flight 93, something that may still be in attempt by the corrupt buearocrats in charge, has now written a book about the case, Crescent of Betrayal, some of which is available at this website.
In tough times the tendency is to rely on our closest friends for support and camaraderie. Life provides few people with whom we may reveal our true selves in unguarded confidence. For me, difficulties typically reaffirm how fortunate I am to have such people in my life. The stalwart presence of good friends provides a buttress against the onslaughts of life. The awareness that others have our back and best interests in mind grants solace and security in the midst of personal upheaval. Sometimes, however, those we have allowed closest to us contribute to those upheavals. There are few experiences like having a good friend stand behind you during hardship, and there are also few experiences like being sold out by one you considered an authentic friend.During the greater portion of my high s

According to IMDB.com, Vernon Winfrey is writing a tell-all book about his daughter Oprah Winfrey. Apparently, Oprah was stunned when her assistant informed her that the New York Daily News reported that her father was planning to write a tell-all book about her; “she refused to believe it at first”. Turns out, Oprah’s sister told her that “I think you should call your father”. When Oprah called him, Vernon reportedly told Oprah that “I meant to tell you I've been working on it”; Oprah allegedly was upset and stunned when her dad confirmed the news about the book. What made matters worse, Oprah allegedly disclosed that he was the last person in the world to be doing a book about me is Vernon Winfrey. Reportedly, “Oprah admits she hasn't seen her father since their trip to Africa a few months ago, but says, We talk, we talk, we talk. I would have preferred to have known my father was working on this. It would have been a nice gesture, a courtesy”.
With that title, it sounds like I will be covering something sad and dramatic, doesn't it? No, no, it's just a day with one of the girls, author Tricia Goyer. Major pro to living where we do: Tuesday after the episode with the van from Monday my dad came over to look at it. We borrowed a battery charger from the neighbor Herbie, and he came over and chatted a bit. Later that afternoon, Herbie, Uncle John, Johnny, Jesse's dad Roger, and Jess were all standing in the driveway looking at the van and chit-chatting. I felt so blessed that we have all these people who care about us and want to help. The verdict: we have an appointment at Monday at a repair shop for new spark plugs and wires. Hopefully that fixes it.Major con to living where we do: See picture above. Jess came to pick Mia, Doogie and me up from Mom's, and we got horribly stuck in the driveway. It took five of us (Mom, Jake, Doogie, Jess and me) to get us out. Ugh! A Valley of Betrayal by Tricia Goyer is a compelling story about people living through the Spanish Civil War, which was a precursor to World War II. Goyer includes a lot of great historic detail about the war and the ci
This week, the CFBA is touring A Valley of Betrayal, a novel by Tricia Goyer, the first book in a new series of historical fiction centered around a little known civil war that tore apart Spain in the middle of the great depression, which I learned from the book was a major prelude to WWII.
A Valley of Betrayal is the story of a young woman, who filled with romantic notions and dreams of walking down the aisle in a blue wedding dress and happily ever after, follows her heart into Spain just as it is on the brink of civil war, after the communists win the recent election and the nazis demand a do-over with bombers. As the title suggests, the brutal realities of war provide a rude awakening and she has to choose between turning back towards home or taking sides in the conflict and assisting in a war not her own.
Now, for most of us, this is definitely going to be a lesson in history, but have you ever read a history book cover to cover, had difficulty putting it down, and enjoyed it? No
Hotline On Call has a partial transcript of former Senator John Edwards’ (D-North Carolina) speech given in Harlem at the same church Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did in 1967 when he came out against the Vietnam War. In the speech, Edwards, a Democratic candidate for president in 2008, calls on Congress to stop President Bush from escalating the war in Iraq.
Forty years ago, almost to the month, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood at this pulpit, in this house of God, and with the full force of his conscience, his principles and his love of peace, denounced the war in Vietnam, calling it a tragedy that threatened to drag our nation down to dust.
As he put it then, there comes a time when silence is a betrayal — not only of one’s personal convictions, or even of one’s country alone, but also of our deeper obligations to one another and to the brotherhood of man.
That’s the thing I find the most important about the sermon Dr. King delivered here that d

What has them on edge, so unnerved, and so scared to face that
