Berkshire Hathaway reported a 64 percent decline in net income stating large losses related to its derivatives contracts and lower profits from its insurance businesses. It reported a $1.6 billion in losses on its derivate contracts, and lower revenues on its insurance businesses siting an increased number of accidents. Buffet had previously warned that the company\'s earnings would be less then favorable; however, he also stated that their derivatives business would ultimately be profitable.
Since the release of Berkshire Hathaway's (BRK.A) annual letter, posts have been flying out there as to Berkshire's actual value vs. today's current $133,000 a share price.

Berkshire also has approximately 20 million shares of Wal-Mart.Buffet has also significantly increased its stake in Johnson & Johnson, from 2 million to 24.6 million shares.Berkshire filed requests with the SEC on Aug. 14 to withhold disclosure of the two investments. The Target request was approved but the J&J request was denied.
