      Rafael Benítez Maudes (born April 16, 1960, Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish football manager and former player, also referred to as Rafa Benítez or sometimes Rafa. He has been manager of Liverpool F.C. since June 2004. On June 2, 2006, Benítez signed a new four-year deal with Liverpool. He has previously managed Valencia CF and five other La Liga teams.
