I have to agree the words from BBC Sports: Liverpool have the advantage after holding Arsenal to a draw in the Champions League quarter-final first leg at The Emirates.
I have to admit it was a great game, but I feel very sad about the performance of both Nicklas Bendtner and the referee. Arsenal will face [...]
Nicklas Bendtner scored in the last minute against Aston Villa at Emirates stadium to make the result 1-1 and praised Arsenal's character with this so important point. At the weekend, it looked like Arsene Wenger's side were going to slip to only their second defeat in 50 competitive games at Emirates Stadium. Now Arsenal is on top of the Premier League only with one point more than second Man utd. Now everyone expected the away match against AC Milan, the first game between the two teams finished draw 0-0, we hope that we can win them now at San Siro.
Good morning all, and as I predicted yesterday we are now going to be waiting anxiously the outcome of the draw on December 21. Spanish, Italian or Portugese opposition awaits us. By February many things will have become clear and after the January transfer window, some player issues resolved. Whilst we finished as group runners up after Seville's comprehensive 3-nil thrashing of Slavia Prague, the Czech outfit now gain a UEFA cup berth for their efforts.
I sat in my seat at the Emirates, cold and somewhat peturbed by the lineup. Jens Lehmann in goal ok, but Song in midfield? The return of Diaby and Van Persie gave my freezing spine a warm shiver of anticipation. I was not to be disappointed.Willie Gallas was being partnered by Ponderos as he is affectionately known by our group. The addition of Traore was good so that he could exorcise the memories of his last poor performance, and Denilson was clearly ready and keen to go.
The first half saw a return of the
Birmingham boss Steve Bruce wants Arsenal's 19 year-old striker Nicklas Bendtner, but realizes that the promising striker is out of Birmingham's reach.Bendtner has featured only four times for the North London giants this season, and has made it clear that he would like to receive more playing time, resulting in rumors linking him to many clubs. However, Arsene Wenger has stated that he will not allow the promising young Dane to leave the club. Bruce has taken this to heart and openly admitted that he has little chance of taking Bendtner back to Birmingham."If you look at us compared to last season then, for me, in a crucial area of the pitch up front, we are not as good as we were last year in the Championship because we are without Nicklas Bendtner," said Bruce."Strengthening in that area remains a priority and I've got to try and identify some people, that's for sure. But I really don't think there is any chance of us getting Bendtner back on loan. I really don't think there i
Arsenal's young Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner could be on his way out of the club. The 6 ft. 4 in. front man performed admirably in Arsenal's preseason fixtures after returning from a season long loan to Birmingham. The few games that he played during the Summer prompted me to write an article comparing the talents of Bendtner and the prodigal Englishman Theo Walcott. In that article, I stated that Bendtner could be an even more prolific striker than Walcott has been slated to become. Bendtner is good in the air, towering over most defenders; but he also has strength and skill on the ball. With his great size comes a great amount of strength, and his dribbling in the preseason fixture against PSG was what really caught my eye. As he is one of our greatest talents, I would be heartbroken to see him playing for any other team. However, the incredible form of Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie has kept him out of any first team action so far this season. Due to this lack of first tea
Arsene Wenger has assured Arsenal fans that young gunners Justin Hoyte and Nicklas Bendtner will both be at Arsenal after the January transfer window.
Hoyte had already proclaimed his allegiance to the club, claiming that he would rather fight for a spot in the heavily contested right-back position than go for guaranteed first team football at a lesser club.
Bendtner, however, was more of a
Blackburn v Arsenal Match Preview
Arsenal go to Ewood Park on Sunday night to play their second game of the Premier League season against Blackburn Rovers. After their last-gasp win over Fulham last weekend and a controlled 2-0 Champions League qualification victory away to Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic, Arsenal will want to keep their positive start to the season going against an underrated Blackburn side. Manager Arsene Wenger was asked earlier this week whether he thought his side could win the Premiership and whilst he agreed it was possible Wenger was keen to keep things in perspective.

Ryan Babel offered out about as clear as dammit ‘Come And Get Me‘ as Arsene has received in years. Speaking at the Under-21 tournament, Babel said,
If I get the chance one day to train with Arsene Wenger it would be a dream. From when I was young I supported Arsenal. I liked the style, the ambience, how they show themselves on the field - everything.
Well, good for you, Young Man. It is refreshing to hear how a player recognises that there is more to life than saying that they would like to come to the Club. No doubt some will say that he is showing that Arsene is too powerful at the Club but there is nothing AW has done to deserve that criticism. All he has done is his job and Babel’s comment confirm that. Others would like to see his U-21 colleague Royston Drenthe who can play in any of the left sided positions. Only having seen him in the Under 21’s tournament, he seems to have done well so far. I am sure that AW and his scouts are aware of the lad but whomev
Inzaghi scores twice to defeat Liverpool
Italian striker Filippo Inzaghi scored two goals in the Champions League final to ensure that AC Milan, not Liverpool, was crowned European Champions. Whilst I thought Liverpool performed quite well - especially in the first half - it was Milan’s defensive resilience that saw them through a tough encounter with the side that had overcome them in the final two years earlier. Many Liverpool supporters will no doubt feel hard done by with the manner in which their team conceded the first goal but Milan deserved the win based on their tactically astute - if not technically brilliant - performance.
To put the first goal that Inzaghi scored down as a fluke would be harsh on a player who thrives on situations like the one presented by Pirlo’s free-kick. The Milan striker’s run across the goalkeeper saw the ball deflect in off his chest but to be fair to Inzaghi - he was in the right place at the right time, just as he was late in
With PSV looming large on the horizon I think we can take a few positives from the game at the weekend, even if Cesc’s own goal did put the frighteners up us for the last minutes of the match. If we can get at PSV the way did Reading for the first twenty minutes or so of the second half then we’ll have every chance to get the two goals we need to progress to the quarter finals.
It was brilliant to see Freddy rolling back the years and roaming the flanks with intent and although he perhaps should have scored at the weekend he looks like a more likely source of goals from midfield than his colleagues at moment. The real dilemma for Le Boss is who to play up front. Theo looked lively in a more central role especially when the game opened up in the second half and the Beast continues to find himself in good areas but is still found a bit lacking in his touch and decision making. If Henry isn’t past fit it’ll be a straight choice between these two and I would fancy
Okay so he was slightly unfortunate for being directly in the way of a goal bound effort last night but this is just the latest bout of crapness from Arsenal’s ‘not so’ Great Dane.
Everything about him screams awkwardness, not too hot on the ground and surprisingly not too good in the air either. By no [...]
