However, the pronounced rainy season is likely to put off some people.Ben Mason, partner of Some-place Else, a property company in the country, said: “Currently, the majority of retirees to Belize are from the US, but with its slower pace of life, lower cost of living, and retired person’s incentive programme, it is a Commonwealth country that is rapidly attracting interest from British expats looking to make it their home.“We have sold properties to clients who have brought property in Belize with the aim of retiring there whe

The new projects include the Smuggler’s Run Plantation north of Belize City and Ara Macao, a remote development on a Caribbean peninsula

      Belize Dolphin Encounter
Before you go into the water with the dolphins, the trainers teach you a thing or two about the animals. About their physiology, their behavior and about ways that we can all protect their habitat. You are then taught how to behave in the water with the animals. The 4 dolphins at Spanish Lookout Caye are bottlenose dolphins, bred in captivity & they are all relatively young, about 4 to 6 years old, so they are still learning a lot and don’t always behave perfectly. For more information email us at info@greendragonbelize.com

Belize Trip Review - Wilkerson Family from Texas, USA
We booked the "Reef and Ruins" package and had no idea what we were getting into. Turns out that this was the best vacation ever. From the moment we arrived in Belize we felt so welcome. David greeted us at the airport with a big smile and took us on our first adventure, the Belize Zoo.Our seven year old was already having the time of his life. After the zoo David drove us to the Jungle Dome. As we arrived at the Jungle Dome we were greeted by the sounds of howler monkeys and parrots. At that moment we knew that this was going to be some adventure. Karen ,the manager, greeted us at the front gate like we were old friends returning home. Her warmth and friendliness was so comforting. She showed us around the property and brought us to our room. The room was spacious and very clean and it looked out to the pool. There were warm chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. We were ready to see what was next for us.During our stay we visited CheChem Ha and Xunantunich with our English speaking g

Belize Trip Review - Erika Granger, Chicago, Il, USA - July 2007
Thank you so much for the most wonderful adventure we had in Belize at the end of July. The Jungle Dome is a little slice of paradise – it was so warm and cozy; a real home away from home. The amazing adventures of the day contrasted nicely with the relaxed atmosphere at the Dome and you and your colleagues did an fantastic job making us feel comfortable and welcome.I never thought I’d be rappelling 300 feet or hiking out of sink holes or being *this* close to skeletal remains of Mayan sacrifices or zip lining or any of the stuff we did when we stayed there. Friends ask me what was my favorite part and I always answer – surviving!! But really, it was the nights at Jungle Dome, swaying in the hammock after a full supper or lounging in the pool after a strenuous day in the Jungle. Truly, you and your colleagues at the Jungle Dome do a terrific job and we all had a great time!Special thanks to Luis for his excellent guidesmanship (is that a word?) and for putting up with three very

      Belize
Formerly known as British Honduras, Belize lies in the American mainland, its eastern shores welcoming the waves of the Caribbean sea. Though part of Central America, Belize’s laid back lifestyle reflects more on its Caribbean neighbors. It was the Amerindians who first inhabited Belize, but it was the Mayans who propelled its civilization. The Mayan skills [...]

      Trip Advisor Reviews from Belize
We just came back from a week-long stay at the Jungle Dome and have nothing but great things to say about it. We did the 8-day adventure, which pretty much covered all the most popular land activities (e.g., Tikal, Caracol, ATM, cave tubing, zip line, etc.). Overall, our stay was simply amazing. When thinking about the jungle dome, you really have to separate it into two parts (i) the lodging and accommodations and (ii) the tour arrangements. It excels on both parts..........Read More from our Recent Guests on Trip Advisor. Click Here.

Belize Trip Review from Nicole Hill and Treva Jarvis - Utah and Nebraska, USA
"My best friend from college and I decided to do a "kid-free" vacation andchoose to come to the Jungle Dome in Belize. It turned out even betterthan we had dreamed! It was SO fun!!! My favorite thing about the JungleDome is the location. You are way away from the hustle and bustle of allthe tourist stuff. It's a beautiful little paradise. Not even a pavedroad where you're going. We loved our room, super clean and pretty. Oneof the other really unique things about the Jungle Dome is that you eatbreakfast and dinner with the other travelers and it's really fun to getto know everyone and hear about their trips. We did the "Reefs and Ruins" tour. Our first day was so neat as weclimbed into the jungle to go to the Che Chem Ha cave. William was anexcellent guide and his wife cooks a fabulous lunch! We then went withLuis (another guide) to the Xunantunich Ruins. Luis was knowledgeable andvery helpful and loves to take pictures for you. We loved the ruins, justbeautiful! The next day we went

Trip Advisor Review - Great Travel Tips for your Belize Vacation
Okay, if you're reading Tripadvisor you're probably a cautious traveller reading all the glowing Jungle Dome reviews thinking, "Come on, nobody's that good." Well folks, they are!Other reviews already do an excellent job of providing details, so I will only provide a few tips.- EVERY DAY TRIP WAS FANTASTIC. Be clear, some are 12 hour excursions that present physical challenges. We're 40-something day-hikers (2-3 hours max) and we went with our 10 and 13 year-old for 8 days. All of us did just fine with the physical demands of the trip.- If you get Luis as a guide, you are in for a treat. The man is an encyclopedia.- Sunscreen's a must (we burned in the water in 20 mins without it)- Keen sandals were perfect for almost every excursion, wet or dry, just be sure to spray your feet with DEET if you're walking in the jungle.- You eat your meals with other guests on the patio. The place seems to attract really decent folk. Enjoy them.- If you get a chance to do a night walk in the jung

      Hurricane Dean passes Belize
Hurricane Dean passed through the Yucatan Region and Belize earlier this week and we are all so relieved that so far no lives were claimed by this monstrous Category 5 Hurricane. As you can see from the picture it covered a large area of Central America as it passed through.Fortunately the center of Belize, Belmopan, and the Cayo District received no damage and in fact if it was not for the news we would never have known there was a hurricane in the region. Many Thanks to all who sent their best wishes and kind words to the Belize Jungle Dome on the day before it hit our area. We appreciate that some of our previous guests were concerned for our welfare. Needless to say we wish all in the North of Belize and Mexico a speedy recovery and hope that life can return to normal as soon as possible.

Belize was amazing...unreal...THE BEST vacation I have ever been on Carrie Dallhoff - Baltimore, USA - May 2007
Belize Trip Review - Carrie Dallhoff - Baltimore, USAWe always like to get guest feedback. This review from a recent Jungle Dome guest is interesting and gives a great feel for the type of Belize Vacations we offer."Our trip to Belize was amazing...unreal...with out a doubt THE BEST vacation I have ever been on.............We drive on one of the 3 paved roads in Belize for a good 40 min and then turn onto a very bumpy dirt road where we drove for another 20 min or so, until we ended at the Dome which was right next to and across the street from a Equestrian Farm (I was in heaven).............The Dome (Belize Jungle Dome) is more of a bed/dinner/breakfast place, where everyone sits with everyone else and enjoys home cooked Belizean breakfast in the morning, then goes off to do some excursion or another and then we all come back and have dinner together. It was awesome............Here is the part where I am sure you will say..."like that really happened" well it did.......Henry is stayin
