"Iran is responsible for what is happening in Lebanon. The subject now is the Iranian attack on Lebanon. They want us to surrender totally without any compensation," Lebanese Sports Minister Ahmed Fatfat said Friday during an interview with the Al-Arabiya television network Friday amid reports that Hizbullah gunmen seized control of large parts of Beirut."Hizbullah has turned from an opposition party into a militia attempting to impose its control. I think Hizbullah believes that the way to Tel Aviv passes through Beirut," he said. Fatfat said Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah had "taken advantage of the government's decision to outlaw the (Shiite) group's communications network in order to declare war." More...

      Beirut has fallen…
Beirut has fallen under the yoke of Nassrallah militiamen. A victory some are calling it. Hordes of militiamen running in the streets shooting at civilians and residential areas. TVs, newspapers and magazines are being closed down. Checkpoints are being built. Welcome to the new age, the age of Hezbollah iron grip! Dream on! Hundreds or even thousands of militiamen cannot occupy a city. Pitiful street thugs will never close down free press and Tvs. Dream on, for today is the start of the end of what was once called a resistance, but now is only a milita, specialized in terror and blackmail, holding a whole city, and economy of the whole country hostages for some political gains. To Clarify Something about Beirut riots
I am noticing something that the media in the west and east are ignoring the economic factor in the Lebanese issue.people do not understand that the majority of Shiites in Lebanon are from the Blue collar working classes whether from the farmers or from the labours. The last economic decisions to raise the price of fuel and diesel in Lebanon just like another Egypt made this class extremely angry especially their wages were the same ,even after the very fast small raise the cabinet had decided from two days before the protests. The Cabinet decided to raise the minimum wages to become $US 500 , useless raise in front of continuous rising prices. Again this protests were not planned by Hezbollah and allies but it was planned by the Lebanese Labour Unions on objection of the very low minimum

From Mahalla to Beirut ; more than a strike , more than a protest
I think no one imagined things would be go this route in Beirut ,in today's labour strike and protest except of course who planned to make this way . I mean it is a decision taken in the moment to bring your weapons and start attacking the others in the protests or strike just like this , especially when it involves guns, rifles,Molotov and RBG !!No to mention the army presence !! It is more than usual riots of angry blue collars for sure and because it is Lebanon you should know that this is another round between the on going the opposition and the cabinet. Like DeVotchKa, Condon is heavily influenced by Eastern European folk music and, to a lesser extent, the mariachi trumpets and Latin rhythms of the desert Southwest: the songs on Gulag Orkestar are lousy with mandolins and similarly plinky members of the string instrument family, accordions

Clashes reported in Palestinian refugee camp near Beirut
The incident involved a shootout with automatic rifles Friday morning in the Bourj el-Barajneh camp, south of Beirut. The officials said three people were wounded - two from the Palestinian mainstream Fatah group and one from the rival Syria-backed radical Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command. An official of the PFLP-GC in the camp, Ramez Mustafa, described the incident as a squabble between two families, the al-Bashirs and the al-Habets. He said the squabble erupted into a gunfight near the Palestinian group's offices after Friday noon prayers.Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon are generally known for lawlessness and armed groups vying for control. The Nahr el-Bared refugee camp in northern Lebanon was the scene of heavy fighting between Lebanese troops and al-Qaida-inspired Islamic militants from May to September. That battle left around 400 people dead, including Lebanese soldiers, Islamic militants and civilians. More...

The sleeper hit of 2006, Beirut's Gulag Orkestar came out of nowhere to sell tens of thousands of copies in a matter of months and wound up on countless critics' year-end lists. As a stopgap before recording a new full-length in Fall 2007 -- and as a way to capture some current songs being performed at shows -- the eight-member band checked into Sea Side Studios in Brooklyn to record Lon Gisland. These are the first studio recordings made by the entire group, and a sampling of the most recent songs by orkestar leader Zach Condon. Lon Gisland features four new tunes and a full band reworking of Gulag's "Scenic World." The five-song EP was initially released with the European edition of Gulag Orkestar.

I will start from the beginning , from the murder which is seemed to be forgotten, all the media is concentrating on the Israeli and is forgetting the main mysterious crime where a person was found killed by his roommate the security officer's gun in the Southern Suburb , the heart of Hezbollah area in Beirut , not to mention a photocopy for an Israeli passport and an official stamp were found in the crime scene too ,then it turned out that this roommate was with his friend or boyfriend who turned to be Israeli

An Israeli is accidentally arrested in Beirut
Seriously despite its importance as a news it did not catch the eyes of the Arabic media , despite all the interesting details in it that makes a hot dish for Ramadan, it did not make the headlines as the last assassination in Lebanon , I do not know why , may be because it will open another big door of taboos whether in Lebanon or in the Arab world in general. As I wrote in the headline An Israeli is accidentally arrested in Beirut in Lebanon in a strange bizarre case. It already started with a Murder the Lebanese internal Security aka Police following the Merje police station was investigating on the 20th of September the Murder of Citizen Moussa Hussein El-Shalaan . El-Shalaan who was born in 1969 was found as a dead body in his flat in the 6th floor block no.2  at the "Malk" Project in El-Salam neighbor which is in the Merje area in the Southern Suburb en Beirut ,why I mentioned the whole address is the last part the Southern Suburb ,It is the populated Shiite Hezbollah area

Other 4 people were killed and as reported 20 people injured in the blast , of course I believe the number of the injured may be more than this because most of the cars in the scene were on fire when the TV channels aired the blast on air Already the street is considered a vita
