The Business Day (17/03/08) reports that Durban has lost four out of six of its "blue flag" swimming beaches. One of the two remaining flags is likely to be pulled soon due to high levels of faecal pollution.
It is not clear what has caused the sudden deterioration of the sea water. It is suspected that the city's sewers are discharging directly into the sea.

Having rested for a few days chilling out not doing much on the Goa beaches I headed out to try and see as much of Goa as possible.

The most crystal clear water we’ve ever seen and shallow water. The water had glittering stripes in it too and at some spots the sand was colored from corals, which also has given it the name “the pink beach”. (This photo really don’t do it justice!)
