Fun, fun, fun. After years of litigation, members of the greatest American band of all time have settled their disputes, reportedly departing the courthouse as friends. Could this pave the way for a long-awaited Beach Boys reunion? Please, Jeezus, please
Three of the surviving original members of the Beach Boys have reached an out-of-court settlement over how the band name can be used.
The agreement ends years of litigation between Al Jardine and his ex-bandmates over the group’s name.
Previously Jardine had been touring under names like “Beach Boys Family & Friends”. But in 2000 he was [...]

The Beatles competed to be the best ever since their days as the Quarrymen in Liverpool in the late 1950’s, and during their stints as a bar band in Hamburg, Germany from 1960-62. This desire to be the best did [...]

But when I first heard Andy's ideas for the piece he wanted, I did not have to think long. The scene he described was so like something I would come up with on my own: a hunky couple, frolicking at the beach in Speedos. I loved it! With the warm weather on the way my thoughts were already turning toward seaside getaways. He even added that he would like the guys to basically look like the men in my "Buds" picture, so that made it even more appealing to do. There's a cool thing about this post, i don't know exactly the reason, though. For a while, i was listening Pet Sounds in my dreams, like it's saying that you should post something about the record. After seeing this weird dream more than three times, i thought that i should post something magical...

Number 560Beach Boys"California Girls"(1965)..Genre:Surf RockNeil, Bob, John, Jimmi, Garcia, Moon, Jones & Joplin. Thats where im at. We from that time period all had one thing in common ............ No not just drugs, we had music man. Real music. Drums and guitars and voice, not like todays jive man, its all fake and produced by the box man, the computer. We had love and peace even during war, sure 'nam was hell but we grooved with passion you know? We had a voice, all you have is this, this web. In our day we got together and protested against injustice and all types of shit man, We smoked and fell to sleep with *Pet Sounds* & *Sgt Peppers* playing. You guys, all you do is shoot guns at a drive by after a session of Vice City and rap music. Hell dudes, you think American idol is state of the art sounds. My time was the real time, yours is just the sim city bro.Fade out and pass the spliff~ HippySummer Days (And Summer Nights!!) was a bit of a regression from the success of
It really irritates me when casual observers write off The Beach Boys as nothing more than a nostalgic pop act. Sure, there breezy odes to surfing and California girls will live on in the summers of tomorrow, but Brian Wilson is so much more than just a pop act. He is a musical genius on par with Hendrix, Lennon, and Otis Redding. His magnum opus Pet Sounds is better than any album The Beatles ever released
Number 576Beach Boys"I Get Around"(1964)..Genre:Surf RockPic by surfphoto I am one of those sadistic bastiches that loves storms, pelting rain & cyclonic weather. To be honest if i could chose my career i would be, with no doubt, a storm chaser. What would i give to see a hurricane or a tornado, not to mention severe thunder & lightning storm ....... nothing would make me happier. Most people would say once you had seen one of the above, you wish you never did. With me, i highly doubt it.I have heard there are holiday packages to US of A to follow severe tornado's & ilk and to me, if i ever come into lottery finger pointing ... I'm off to do such that. What led me to all of that is the fact the best time to surf is during a storm in summer. One, its electric 2ndly, the swells are more of a challenge & 3rdly, your not given a sex change like, in the winter time storms.Oh and while i remember, my brother owes me a surfboard, he broke mine in a head on collision where he had borr
Number 641Beach Boys"Help Me Rhonda"(1965)..Genre:Surf Rock Ugh! I was born in this year (Surely theres a mistake officer?) Anyhoo, The Beach Boys were one of the biggest musical influences of my life. Nothing sounded like them and as i say on Number 714 "Wouldn't It Be Nice" no-one (that i had heard of) could harmonise the way they did. Totally singable with a hair brush and a mirror and it didn't matter if you slipped a note because the other 5 Beach Boys were backing you up anyway. My surfing mates were horrid to know i was into Beach Boys, and i, armed with cassette tapes listening on the way to Piha in a Holden station wagon (The Holden didnt have a front window, fraggin chilly drive) when they were abhorrently into their Black Sabbath & Sex Pistols. But nothing beat the sound of harmony and not even Sid Vicious could stand in the way of true music!Brian Wilson's retirement from performing to concentrate on studio recording and production reaped immediate dividends with Today!,
All those beach boy candids you see everywhere, epitomized by William and also favored on flickr, now have a video equivalent. Twinks and muscleboys abound, all shirtless, all in their speedos or board shorts, taped in High Definition without their permission, for the pleasure of voyeurs and people-watchers everywhere.
This is only the first part. BeachScenes has the rest.
