After picking up my iPhone 3G the day after Rogers’ craptacular launch, I was quite impressed with the blazing speed of 3G connectivity. It’s unfortunate the battery life on the iPhone 3G runs out faster than you can say Jesus Jobs.

Question:
I am currently considering the purchase of a brand new Nokia N95. I am a bit concerned about the fact that Nokia N95 smartphones are renowned for their relatively short battery life span. Can you suggest a few tips and tricks to extend the battery life of a Nokia N95?
Answer:
You have a point there. The Nokia N95 battery life is shorter than previous (and obviously less sophisticated)models. The WiFi connectivity (including the default active search for WiFi networks), GPS, Media (Mp3 and Video) player and those alike consume your Nokia N95 battery power and shorten its life span.
That said, let me point you to two different guides on how to extend the battery life of your Nokia N95. I believe both do help in maximizing the battery life for the N95 (realistically, even after implementing the tips and tricks provided by the two guides you’ll need to recharge your Nokia N95 every night), while still keeping it fully functional.

Laptops can be regarded as our babies. Every single time, we need to take good care of them, and always ensure that they have the key essentials to survive for a longer period of time. You would not wish to see your laptop die off on you while you are doing your work with it, would you? So it would be crucial for you to make sure that the battery life can last as long as possible and that it does not shut down on you too often. It could be quite a nuisance if that happens all the time. Therefore, we would like to share with you five key tips on how your laptops’ battery life can be preserved for a much longer period of time, which can save you from having to recharge your laptops every one or two hours.Bring down the light intensity of the laptop display. In a previous articles titled Conserving Your Laptop Battery Power I listed several tips you can use to help conserve your laptop battery. The tips in that post can be applied not only Vista, but also previous versions of the Windows operating system. In this post, however, I will discuss a new utility within Vista to help you get even more time out of your laptop battery.Vista Power OptionsSimilar to the previous versions of Windows, you can access the power options for Vista from the control panel. To access the options use the following:Click Start Menu->Control Panel->Mobile PC->Power Options.Within the dialog you will see several default power options. You can simply click one of the options to use the power settings associated with it. Each power option has different battery life and performance features. When you increase the battery life you usually take a performance hit. When you increase the performance of your laptop, you will usually reduce the battery life of your lapto
How To Unlock the Secret Extra Battery Life In Your Cell PhoneHave you ever ended up in a situation where your cell phone battery was dying on you at the wrong time and you did not have your charger on you?Relax; there is a quick fix to unlock the extra battery life to your cell phone. To activate this hidden battery life, press the keys *3370# on your cell phone.Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument panel or your battery diagnostic page will reflect a 50% increase in battery. On my Siemens SX66 PDA phone, it increased the back up battery 100%!This battery reserve will get charged as well the next time that you charge your cell phone and will continue to show on your battery diagnostic page or instrument panel. The code works by telling your cell phone how to reallocate battery power to only necessary functions. This is extremely handy if you have a PDA cell phone.Whilst this may be considered by some to be a urban legend, it actually did work for me.
The iZap, a product initially designed to work and function with Apple’s 5th Generation iPod, has reportedly been confirmed as usable on the Apple iPhone.
Hooking up the iZap to your iPhone will triple its battery life, giving off 24 hours of talk time on a single recharge in the dock. Perfect for people on the road and constantly away from recharge points and computers.
On offer in a matching black color similar to the iPhone, it should look rather slick and unobtrusive in use. It retails for $80 - not bad value for those who need it.

Two of the biggest battery hogs in Windows Vista are the flashy Aero user interface and the gadget sidebar. So it stands to reason that if you want to get the most out of your laptop's battery life you'll disable these features when running on battery power.

The battery life in my MD Player is about one hour without the spare battery pack on. We've replaced the gumstick battery multiple times, but it still holds little over an hour, while the spare packs AA can hold dozens of hours.
Dwight Silverman, the tech reviewer at the Houston Chronicle, has written about the impact that the Aero theme has on battery life and performance (under the provocative title "Vista, Aero, battery life . . . and Doom" -- he's referring to the game Doom3, BTW). It's a good post and I'd like to take a minute to expand on what Dwight has written.
First off, yes, as Dwight correctly points out, the Aero theme drives the GPU harder and therefore uses more power. But in the big picture, it's really not that much more. For example, the display on most laptops will consume somewhere between 15-25% of your "power budget" when you are running on battery. Nevertheless, in our testing we've seen that turning on Aero consumes only about 1-4% more of battery life. In terms of making your battery last longer, turning off Aero will not go very far while at the same time costing you some of the cool features that make Windows Vista fun to use, such as Flip 3D, taskba
