With an aging water infrastructure and breakdowns becoming more common, home water purifiers and filters are increasing in importance. You are the last line of defense against contaminated water. Reverse osmosis water filters are often used to purify bottled water, taking water right out of the tap and running it through a filtration system before selling it to you in those convenient and expensive bottles. A pair of KITT's from NBC’s Knight Rider Movie.(Credit: Both Photos from Barrett-Jackson.com Website.)This could have well been the final chapter in NBC’s Knight Rider Movie that premiered with high ratings and mix reviews. The movie left some Knight Rider fans including me asking why did you create this movie, the first time I heard that NBC was recreating one of my favorite television shows, I thought alright a Knight Rider rebirth television series, but the whole thing of just a two hours movie really didn’t interest me, if you are going to go recreate it, at least make it into a six one hours mini-series, that would have been better, however for what it was worth, the movie wasn’t bad at all, it was a nice touch to have the next driver be Michael Knight’s son.As for the rebir

Over the last couple of years, enthusiants have seen a surge at the Barrett-Jackson in terms of prices and popularity, however while 2008 saw even bigger popularity, the hammer prices really didn’t come close to the records that one thought each would bring. It seems that the 2008 Barrett-Jackson prices were more along the lines of what most auction around the US would bring as well as some including the announcers called bargin prices. So after all of that, what did $1 Million dollars get you at the 2008 Barrett-Jackson and more so, who were the showstoppers and the star? For the 2008 Barrett-Jackson, $1 Million dollars would have bought you a lot more then in past years, going into the auction I had thought that there were two vehicles that would bring in the big dollar amounts, first, i

The Texas Progressive Alliance, a confederation of political blogs, bloggers, and online activists from across Texas, today announced its endorsement of Dan Barrett (D-Fort Worth) in the special election runoff in House District 97.
“We believe that Dan Barrett will make an excellent addition to the growing numbers of Democrats in the Texas House of Representatives,” said Vince Leibowitz, Chair of the Texas Progressive Alliance. “We are pleased to offer him our support,” he continued.
In early November, Barrett led a field of seven candidates vying for the seat vacated by retiring State Rep. Anna Mowery, a longtime ally of Texas House Speaker Tom Craddick.
“I believe the voters in House District 97 are ready for a change and will realize that Dan Barrett will be no rubber-stamp for Tom Craddick’s regime and policies,” said Charles Kuffner of Houston, the vice chair of the Alliance.
This is the second year for the Alliance, which is made up of

Texas Parent PAC has endorsed Democrat Dan Barrett in the runoff for HD 97 in Tarrant County. From their press release:
“Unlike his opponent, Dan Barrett opposes taking money away from public schools to fund private school tuition vouchers,” said Ellen Jones of Euless, a Texas Parent PAC board member. “Barrett understands that Texas taxpayers cannot afford to subsidize private schooling through voucher schemes. Our limited state and local funds must be used to strengthen public schools in every neighborhood so children can succeed academically and their communities and families prosper.”
I’m glad to see Barrett get the Parent PAC endorsement. Clearly, we don’t need another voucher advocate in the House clinging to James Leininger’s leg like a shy three-year-old.
With 51.11 percent of precincts reporting (24 of 45), Democrat Dan Barrett holds a 10 point lead over his closest opponent. Capitol Annex predicts a runoff, but it’s too early to tell whether it will be against Shelton or former State Rep. Bob Leonard. Results after the jump:

Humber: 5.62
Hatch: 3.03
Leonard: 18.72

A pivotal figure in Motown's formative years, singer/composer Barrett Strong was a key associate and friend of Berry Gordy. It was his hit "Money (That's What I Want)" for Anna Records in 1960 that provided vital capital for Gordy to expand his operation. The song gave Strong his only major hit as a vocalist, reaching number two on the R&B charts and barely missing the pop Top 20. During the late '60s and early '70s, Strong collaborated with Norman Whitfield on some historic songs that included Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby," the Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" and "Ball of Confusion," Edwin Starr's "War," and "Take Me in Your Arms and Love Me" for Gladys Knight & the Pips, which he also co-wrote. Strong left Motown when the label moved to Los Angeles in 1972, and he signed with Epic. After one failed single, Strong moved to Capitol, where he had the LP Stronghold released in 1975 and later Live & Love in 1976. Thou
We've already informed you that identifying Lou Piniella's hysterics as the impetus for the Cubs' turnaround is stupid. Also stupid: crediting the loss of Michael Barrett, and the subsequent addition of his inferior replacements, instead. But Jacob Luft of CNNSI has gone and done it anyway. The Cubs are no strangers to curses, having dealt with the wrath of an exiled billygoat for the past six decades. But now it looks like they have found another ballclub to share in the misery, if not take the burden off their shoulders altogether. The transfer of the curse -- if you believe in such silly notions -- took place on June 20, when Chicago traded catcher Michael Barrett, who had spent the better part of the past two seasons auditioning for the All-Ruffian team, to the San Diego Padres for backup catcher Rob Bowen and outfield prospect Kyler Burke.I'll just go right ahead and say it: I don't believe in such silly notions. These were the records of both teams after games played on June 19

I know you’re all dying to know how I made out yesterday on my to do list.
I spent about 3 hours in the college computer lab and did my Computer Literacy homework and did about 1/2 of my Human Geography work. I will be so glad to never ever have to take this class again.
I dropped off both the court paperwork and my prescriptions. My Doctor very willingly put me back on Paxil in hopes that I can start sleeping through the night again. Its good …. better than I can say …. to have a doctor who does not treat me like a hypochondriac for getting sick often or like a freak for having a complicated medical history.
The knee is either a bad strain/pulled ligament or a miniscus tear. I am on anti-inflamatory meds and if I do not have any relief in a few days he wants me to go to an Orthopedist/Physiatrist. As I type this my legs are up in the recliner and I have a bag of frozen peas on my knee.
CB - David Barrett
The New York Jets signed free agent cornerback David Barrett in early March of 2004 to a six-year, $21 million contract. Barrett spent the first four seasons of his career with Arizona and collected 6 interceptions in 62 games before coming to the Jets via free agency. Barrett came to the Jets and had a nice season recording 77 tackles, bringing in 2 interceptions and deflecting 11 passes.
The following season, the Jets brought in Ty Law to become their #1 cornerback and to play opposite David Barrett. With the addition of Ty Law, Barrett saw better numbers, grabbing 5 interceptions on the season in just 13 games. Barrett was questionable heading into the 2006 season with the Jets under new management and feared at being a potential cap casualty with a particularly high salary. Jets 2005 2nd-round pick Justin Miller battled with Barrett throughout training camp and preseason and beat David out of the starting job opposite Andre Dyson. Barrett recorded three intercept
The Chicago Cubs Wednesday traded catcher Michael Barrett and cash to the San Diego Padres in exchange for San Diego's backup catcher Rob Bowen, and a low Single A outfielder Kyler Burke. Barrett who may be better known for his fights than his Major League ability was involved in two blowups with teammates in recent weeks. The catcher was slugged by pitcher Carlos Zambrano after a loss to the Atlanta Braves on June 1. He then got into shouting match with Chicago pitcher Rich Hill in the dugout during a game against the Seattle Mariners. Barrett hitting .256 with nine homers and 29 RBI has had some problems with his defense. Barrett was suspended for ten games last year after punching out White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski after he had been run over at home while trying to protect the plate.(C) Copyright thesackattack.com 2007
I’m not a Cubs fan, but Michael Barrett was traded from the Cubs to the Padres today. I think it’s a pretty interesting deal, so we’ll see what happens.
Barrett was expected in San Diego on Wednesday night when the Padres play host to the Orioles. Bowen, who was hitting .268 with eight doubles, two homers and 11 RBIs in 30 games with the Padres, was expected to join the Cubs in Arlington, where they were taking on the Rangers in Interleague Play.

Chicago Cubs catcher Michael Barrett was traded to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
It wasn't immediately known what the Cubs will receive in return from San Diego for Barrett, who has made headlines this season for arguing with Cubs pitchers in the dugout on two occasions this month and struggling on defense at times this season.
Tina Ann Barrett (born 16 September 1976 in London, England) was a member of the pop band S Club (7) (1998-2003). The band broke up in May 2003 due to undisclosed reasons. Tina was given the nickname the "Dancing Queen"In 2003, Barrett landed a $400,000 (around £250,000) worldwide advertising contract with Wrigley's chewing gum.In 2004, she was rumoured internationally to be romantically linked to David Schwimmer for a few months following media reports of her visiting him at his Spanish villa.Notably, on the S Club 7 Album Sunshine, Tina had led the uptempo club track, "Stronger" which was due to be released as the band's 10th single. However, due to the departure of band member Paul Cattermole, the single was pulled. If the plans for Stronger had gone ahead, it would have marked the first time Jo O'Meara or Rachel Stevens had not taken the position of lead vocalist.Wallpaper credits to Mark DangerfieldArticle credits to Wikipedia
The Cubs spent $300 million dollars in the acquisition of talent in the off-season and right now, it's looking like a train wreck. In light of Sweet Lou Piniella blowing up and Alfonso Soriano forgetting how to swat homers, it's become a powder keg in Cubbie-world.Friday, 'Big Z', Carlos Zambrano and Michael Barrett tussled in the Cubs dugout, and Big Z decided to channel "The Rock", Dwayne Johnson. He whooped up on Barrett and sent him to the hospital with six stitches to his lip, along with swelts and bruises. The two men put the incident behind them and were fined. When Lou Piniella left Tampa Bay, he thought his fortunes would be better; however, he's finding out in Chicago, there's a reason why the Cubs are the Cubs...Thanks to the magic of the Internet and Yotube, you can see the action as it is...
Here’s the video of the non-fight and partial fist of Carlos Zambrano hitting his catcher Michael Barrett. Next time Michael, you probably want to focus on the pissed off man in front of you instead of trying to point out something. And Carlos, my man, when punching, you are supposed to close your fist. The temper of Chicago Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano got the better of him Friday, as he and catcher Michael Barrett went at it in the dugout during the Cubs 8-5 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The Braves had just scored a few runs, one of which came across after Zambrano threw a pitch that bounced off of Barrett's glove. The catcher, trying to make a play to get the runner at third, threw the ball into left field, allowing the run to score. After that top of the 5th inning, Zambrano was seen in the dugout on TV pointing to his head, and then he and Barrett exchanged words before something was said and Zambrano pushed Barrett after the catcher pointed at the scoreboard. That started the mini-fight that saw a lot of pushing, but no punches were thrown. Cubs manager Lou Pinella was one of among the few who stepped in. The manager then told Zambrano to take a shower and go home, then returned to the dugout. Just a few seconds later a clubhouse attendant could be seen saying something to P
Those of you that saw the Braves-Cubs game today at Wrigley must've seen the tussle between Carlos Zambrano and his catcher Michael Barret. The defense played horrible behind Zambrano, leading to a 5-run outburst for Atlanta in the 5ht inning as the Braves went on to win 8-5.The Youtube video isn't that great, but the Espn recap does have a nicer vid with a better view, so try and see it there to get a better look.I can understand that Zambrano was upset because the Cubs defense was making the members of the Bad News Bears look like Ozzie Smith and Omar Vizquel. But Z's pitching has been as disappointing as my hair, so I don't think he can spread too much blame around. No punches were thrown in the dugout, but reports are that Barrett went after Zambrano in the clubhouse and that Zambrano busted his lip for him. I also heard that Lou Piniella was very upset at both guys and that said that he was going to discipline both, but I can't really confirm that right now.Either way, I'm g
Soaps In Depth compiled a list of possible actresses that could fill the empty chair that Vanessa Marcil left when she decided to leave her Brenda Barrett alter-ego and be Sam for that NBC primetime show called Las Vegas. I do want the Brenda character back. She is such an icon, pretty much, in Port Charles. The damn mob-infested town needs a feisty little thing called Brenda, hah.

First on the list is Rebecca Budig. I wholeheartedly agree. I loved her as Michelle in Guiding Light, and I absolutely loved her as Greenlee in All My Children. She is my one of my top picks to fill Vanessa’s shoes.

Gina Tognoni is my top pick also. I would’ve loved to see her spar with Laura Wright again since the latter used to play Cassie on Guding Light while Gina plays Dinah. But, sad to say, Gina is staying in Guiding Light :(.
Other actresses that made it on the SID list are :

Michael Barrett's rep Matt Kramer over at Barrett's website has agreed to let us LOHO bloggers compile our questions for Michael to answer. This diary is for those said questions that you've wanted to ask Michael but were afraid because you're one of the "little people." Well, have no fear!!! I will compile the list of questions and send them to Matt on Friday morning. He said that we should have answers within the next couple of weeks. The only thing I think that Julie (or any of us) would ask is that the questions not delve into private issues or any other obviously "off limits" topics (I'm sure this sounds odd coming from me) - the only exception being the question of the "nutty buddy." And with that, take it away:

(Image Credit: Barrett-Jackson.com Auction website)After the last vehicle rolled off the auction block sold yesterday evening, I reflect back on just what happened, the busied night by far was last Saturday night in prime-time. There was one real record breaking event, but the two concept cars that everyone thought would the huge money makers really didn’t. I would say that the 2007 Barrett-Jackson belonged to one man, Carroll Shelby. Shelby, need I say more.Do we hear 5 Million Dollars:This bid was the highest bid in history, the vehicle was Carroll Shelby’s personal car, a 1966 SHELBY COBRA 427 "SUPER SNAKE" with a 427 Supercharged engine attached to a 3-speed Automatic Transmission that puts down 800 horsepower. This was not the vehicle that was most talked about in making a huge number, but it is now. I don’t know about anyone else, but having the choose of owning one of Carroll Shelby’s personal rides with an autographyed viser or a concept car, I would choose the Shelby h
Somehow, I had missed this news about Syd Barrett, one of the original founders of the rock band, Pink Floyd, that he had died of Type 2 diabetes. Syd had suffered from substance abuse and mental illness early on, which led to his departure from Pink Floyd as singer, guitarist and songwriter. The news made me sad on several different levels. First, the fact that another life was lost to the Type 2 diabetes, the type of diabetes that can be managed and controlled in many cases. Secondly, it made me melancholy to think of a young and vibrant rock star who's band I thought was so cutting and and cool had now died as a senior. Paradigmn shift? I'll remember Syd for sure now. WikiPedia has a nice page history and pictures that give you an idea of Syd's life chronology with pics.
