If it is India, then it's definitely small car news. After Hyundai, GM, Tata blah blah..and a dozen other manufacturers are busy developing their own 'nano' versions, Mitsubishi don't want to be left behind and has recently announced that its forthcoming global car will be released in markets like China and India. Expect this subcompact car to share its territory with the Pajero's and Montero's anytime in 2010. Similar to the Tata Nano, this car will be rear engined too but will come with a 1.0 litre engine. Looks wise, it will be very similar to its brother, the 'i' car.
BlogHer has a new "Act" widget to support women and children internationally. The hope is to save lives, reunite families, provide desperately needed food and health care, among other things. I have some questions, so I tried to post the following in comments but then had that stupid 255 character limit rear its ugly head. Here's what I wanted to post:"This sounds great, extremely worthy of BlogHer! I'm grabbing the widget, but wonder two specific things. I'm wondering whether the women's health care available in any given country is able to provide birth control in any meaningful way, and I'm wondering what the general attitude and practice is among the providers in the various countries about abortion. Pamela Anderson is starring in a "docu-style series" on E! this summer cleverly titled Pamela. I'm pretty sure "docu-style" isn't a real word but when has reality gotten in the way of reality TV? NEVER! E! Online conveniently has the details:
"Pamela will be an artistically rich and visually stunning series," executive producer Randy Barbato said in a statement. "The series will offer an unprecedented look inside the life of one of today's most iconic superstars in the style of a uniquely shot documentary film."
While the series, as announced, promises to let viewers meet "the real woman behind the famous breasts," it will draw a big line, and will not feature her and ex-husband Tommy Lee's two children.
I'm sure the show will be interesting as hell like her life. One minute Pamela And

The Rockets have now become only the third team in NBA history to win 20 games in a row. This is the second longest NBA streak ever. Now, I've been the sole stage driver of the Rockets Bandwagon here in the metroplex for quite some time. To borrow a metaphor, if you're a rockets fan here, you won't be alone, but you'll be lonely. However, due to this recent history-making streak, there have been quite a few posers on the side of the road with their thumbs out trying to hitch a ride. Now, I'm happy to have even fair weather companions along with me on the bandwagon, but I just wanted to delineate the difference between those sitting on the tailgate and those holding the reins. Thus, I offer a few criterion: You might be a true Rockets fan,If you tried to hang up your lamenated copy of the H

Following impressive wins in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida, Senator John McCain’s bandwagon has started to fill up quickly. With new supporters come additional volunteers, financial support, and enthusiasm. However, this building momentum also has its price: wind resistance.“Several months ago when there were campaign staff cutbacks, the bandwagon could hit top speeds of 60 or 65 miles per hour,” explained one campaign staffer, “Now, after these wins, we’re lucky to get this thing up to 15 miles per hour.”Leading up to next week’s “Super Tuesday,” McCain’s bandwagon has started to fill rapidly including former Presidential Candidate Rudy Giuliani and Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former action star was asked to be seated because his larg
During these times when oil prices keeps on rising and the dollar is on a steady decline, you may find that your somehow high salary is no longer enough. Philippines is the latest country to join the world medical tourism destination. Considering that (practically) every other mega-corp on the planet is doing something related to environmental conservatism, Toshiba is making sure it's not left behind. Consequently, the outfit has crafted the Carbon Zero Scheme, which allows customers (or philanthropists) to donate £1.18 ($2.43) in exchange for Toshiba "offsetting the lifetime carbon footprint of one's laptop." Interestingly, you don't actually have to purchase a new machine in order to participate, so you can still squash the guilt you're currently feeling as you gaze at the LCD of your five-month old, non-offset lappie. For each donation, the company will plant trees in a dedicated area in Cumbria, and you can supposedly rest easy knowing that you've done a small part to look after Mother Earth.>Link exchange with Tech Gadget Blog ?

The war between Google and PayPerPost continues with bloggers continuing to be caught in the middle. I recently wrote about PPP’s new RealRank alternative to Google’s PageRank and also about Google’s latest hypocrisy. Today I came across what sure smells of hypocrisy from Izea’s Founder/CEO Ted Murphy-
RealRank was conceived and introduced before any of this PR upheaval. It wasn’t introduced because people lost their rank, it was introduced to solve an advertising problem. The problem is that PR and traffic have no direct correlation and for that reason it holds no value for advertisers other than SEOs. While we have some advertisers that utilize PPP for SEO that is not our core value proposition. We want advertisers who value the unique content that you create and the influence you represent, not just a link.
Required in-post disclosure and no-follow tags in SocialSpark underscore our commitment to this concept. We are not selling links. We are sellin
And Perishable Press is responsible. Removing ‘nofollows’ from a Wordpress blog is remarkably easy to do and you needn’t install a plugin to do it, as explained in “The One-Minute Dofollow WordPress Upgrade” and in the Industrial Strength WordPress Dofollow Upgrade for those wanting that little extra. I recommend the latter. It took me less that five minutes, but I’m not a half bad WordPress hacker, though this blog is not indication of that. I haven’t done anything with it in a long time.

Mobile entertainment has never seen such a terrific development as is the case with the N-Series phones from Nokia. N-Series, the name itself suggests its innumerable possibilities - possibilities in terms of imaging, in terms of music, in terms of connectivity, in terms of web activities and what not! After the successful promotion of the N-Series handsets with See New, Hear New, Feel New as its core strength, Nokia has seen such a terrific inflow of consumers, significantly, in a small period of time. In fact, the launch of the N-Series handsets has entirely changed the complete profile of the company. Earlier known as a manufacturer of user-friendly mobile phones, Nokia is now more popular as a multimedia mobile phone maker. After the huge success of N-Series mobile phones like N70, N72 and N73, Nokia has brought music editions for all these models. Equipped with larger memory modules, these phones are targeted towards the music enthusiasts who have long been looking for multimed
It seems as though the mainstream media is ready to anoint Houston Mayor Bill White as the Democratic Party’s 2010 gubernatorial nominee:
Houston voters overwhelmingly re-elected Mayor Bill White on Tuesday, sending him back to City Hall for two more years and setting the stage for what some see as a larger political future.
With about slightly more than half the vote counted, White was breezing to a third term, proving he still is widely popular despite the public’s concern about crime and recent criticism over property taxes.
White touted his last four years, saying the city had worked to reduce traffic congestion and violent crime, but also promised to fight air polluters and spend $200 million on drainage projects before he leaves office.
“I’m so proud that we’ve tackled the toughest problems that we have at the city,” he told supporters at the Rice Hotel on Tuesday night. “Even where we make modest strides, I’ll tell you what, it

Famously known as the city of beaches, Goa has its name on every tourist's itinerary. Be it an Indian or a foreign tourist, everyone goes to Goa at least once a year and given a chance many of us would jump with joy at the thought of owning a spectacular beachside home in this yesteryear Portugal colony. No wonder then, Goa has found its place on the real estate growth bandwagon and has shown impressive results in terms of demand on the buying side.
I was going to write something all serious about today being Blog Action Day, and how this year, it's supposed to focus on the environment -- but I just got distracted by the Colorado Rockies' 4th inning 6-run offensive barrage.Damn, this team is good! They were in fourth place in mid-September, and now they're in the process of winning their 21st of 22 games. Consider me officially on the bandwagon.I will go so far as to say that, absent a good reason (i.e. you grew up rooting for the Diamondbacks or you are allergic to purple and black), it is unAmerican to be rooting for anyone else right now.I want a t-shirt.Too bad it's so late here, because I don't want to turn off the tv.
I’d heard that Dove had a new video out (remember “Evolution“?) but it took me a while to get around to watching it. I’ve spent a lot of time over the last few days thinking criticially (and somewhat cynically) about PR pitches and viral marketing and buzz marketing and exactly this type of campaign. Even though this is very much a marketing move on the part of Unilever, I also think it’s a very well-done and important message, and I’m completely putting aside my cynicism to share it with you. It’s worth sharing, and even ties in loosely with the theme of the day about women and their bodies.

I have been reading blogs, party webpages, candidate webpages, etcetera for several months now trying to understand where everyone stands. I want to know for myself what a candidate believes and not just the media slop that is fed to us like pigs at a trough. I was impressed with a video I saw of Mike Huckabee talking about creation. It was at a debate and rather than side step the question he answered it fully and frankly. I like that in a president, and so I liked it in the candidate too. My husband is a Marine and so Iraq is a very important issue to me. My husband has been there, and though it is not our wish for my husband to die there, it is our wish that the Iraqi people have freedom. My husband will have to serve again. It is inevitable. We are ok with that. We would be selfish to be otherwise! If we pull out, then the terrorists have won, as well as those neighboring countries that would love to see Iraq shatter into a million tiny pieces just to prove how not dependable "

I’m jumping on the BlogRush bandwagon. If you don’t have the widget. Get it here. BlogRush is a “Cooperative Syndication Network”. By adding the blogrush widget to your blog you, BlogRush will distribute your posts to other blogs with the widget.
The number of times your blog is displayed in the blog rush widget is based on how many times the blogrush widget loads on your blog. So each time someone goes to your blog, you earn a syndication credit. So, as the video says, if you get 100 page views/day, you earn the right to have a blog post displayed on the BlogRush widget 100 times/day. You also earn syndication credits for other bloggers that add the widget to their site, meaning their page views count towards the number of your blog posts that get shown on the network.
It’s viral, it’s free, and it is catching on quickly. If you’re not signed up, click here to get it now! Like the best investments, the ones that are going to profit will be the

I am not a bandwagon reader. Last summer I read The Red Tent and the Secret Life of Bees. Everyone was talking about them. . . . ten years ago.
Well, The Kite Runner is still on the bestseller list at least. I'm not sure why I resisted reading this. I think that I thought it might be too political, or too sad, or just not my cup of tea. I would not be exaggerating to say that this is one of
There's been a lot of hoo-hah about blog marketing going on, and tadah, I've jumped onto the bandwagon as well.I've heard of PayPerPost a long time ago (I actually signed up my personal blog for it, but in the end I never did go for it, as I wanted to keep it ad-free), but never did get on with the program until now. I thought, hey, it's about time, eh?I actually submitted this site to PPP a month ago, but for some reason, it kept getting rejected. It was only a few weeks later that I realised, man, it totally slipped my mind that their mandatory 90 days weren't up yet *slap forehead*.Anyways, I do hope I get some good opportunities there (I've seen a few). Still, I shall have to remind myself to be really patient as my blog's still very new, and my PR's still very low. No worries, I have faith in my site, as I love writing about my passion, and if I don't get paid all that much, that's not even a problem; my readers will always come first.Hmm, what shall I do with my earning
The practice of demanding that publishers send cash to bookstores along with the books they wish to sell seems to be rapidly spreading. Word comes from Finland that the largest bookstore chain there is adopting the Waterstone's "pay or perish" scheme.

Starting with 65 items, Kroger expects to double its Private Selection brand organics by the end of the year.

Search engine optimization (or SEO) is a growing field, not a dying one as others would have you believe. In-fact, I would even say that search engine optimization is still in it's crawling phase, and we're going to see a lot of changes and growth in the field within the next 15 years. If you're not on the bandwagon yet, you should seriously consider hopping on right about now.Every business that has the power to be online is quickly discovering the power of optimizing for search engines like Google and Yahoo. Even major corporations are beginning to realize the power of search engines and - even though they hardly need it - they are optimizing themselves online to reap the benefits associated with the number one spot on a Google, Yahoo, or MSN search. We're talking giant fortune companies, the ones with millions of millions of dollars invested in their websites, getting interested in optimization. When giant companies, who gained billions of links over the past thirty years - witho
As the minutes counted down to the iPhone release, all that could be heard was the yelling and utter excitement of plopping down $600 plus monthly service fees for a phone on steroids. The cult has no concern for overbought conditions (for better and for worse). Message boards and rumor sites alike, battle back and forth over the stock price and latest announcements. Both sides, shorts and longs, both accusing each other of being pumpers and dumpers and paid pushers. All this over a company that barely survived the tech boom.
Apple (AAPL) was reinvented by the invention of the iPod and there is no consumer, company, or investor that can disagree with that. Hundreds of millions of iPods have been sold, not to mention some one million iPhones have been sold in under two weeks. As the days roll by, and the Apple investor crowd slowly transitions from iPhone rumors and thoughts to what catalysts are left for Apple, many investors may be in for an interesting surprise.

Want to build/design a new hybrid car? Well, if you're into that kind of stuff Google is throwing money ($1 million) at it, and has plans on throwing more ($10 million). You would probably imagine engineers to be high tech gadget freaks who LOVE to rig up fancy home devices to help them get dressed or make their breakfast in the morning.Don't look at this girl. I get into software and gadgets too, but sometimes, I'm so behind on the times. Example, I have a dishwasher. It isn't the best, but it gets the job done. I didn't use it until about a month ago. *GASP* The engineering gods are going to come after me with a big protractor!Seriously. I NEVER used them. Forget that it saves oodles of precious time. Nope. Wash by hand. In fact, my mother has one now and she uses it as a drying rack... extra storage space is good! Amtek announces Intel-based UMPC with 4.8" display Intel launched its Ultra Mobile PC 2007 platform in April and a number of UMPCs using the platform have since been announced. We've seen offerings from Samsung, Fujitsu and Asus. Amtek is adding its name to the list with the new U560. The U560 makes use of an 800MHz Intel A110 processor and comes equipped with 512MB of RAM and a 40GB 1.8" 4200RPM HDD. The display used is a 4.8" 1024x600 which slides up to reveal a backlit split-qwerty keyboard. One of the main complaints of Sony's VAIO UX series has been its small 4.5" 1024x600 display which causes many users to squint in order to read text. The U560's 4.8" screen isn't likely to be much better in this regard. Samsung's Q1 Ultra lineup also offers a 1024x600 resolution, but is available with a larger 7" display. Other features of the U560 include a 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11a/b/g, Synaptics-based pointer, CompactFlash slot, two USB 2.0 ports and an inte
The Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest of celebrities to go green. Recently, Bloom revealed to Britain’s Daily Express that he plans to build an eco-friendly haven outside of London.
“I was trying to buy somewhere in London but couldn’t afford it. It is not the actors making money, it is the boys in the City,” Bloom claimed.
However, being green hasn’t been all fun and games for Bloom: “But building a house has been so stressful, it has taken double the budget - but I did make changes.”
Orlando also talked about his recent visit to Antarctica where he studied the effects of global warming. Because, you know, sending an actor on a ridiculously expensive research trip is the best way to go.

Not with tickets like the Washington Nationals, but offering content for mobile phones. Fans attending Astros games at Minute Maid Park can now head over to a “Bluetooth Zone” and access audio/video clips, wallpapers, ticket offers and more.
No word on the security of the access points which could lead to open season for hackers but a nice step in technology if you are just too bored watching the game.
If anyone heads out to a Astros game let me know how it turns out!

It looks like Mary Janes are having a major fashion comeback. Not that they ever really left. I recently wrote about how the mary jane has grown up, and it seems that the Hollywood girls are working them like mad. Paris Hilton loves them, as does Jenna Jameson, Carmen Electra and Ciara.
So go ahead and revisit your childhood. Bring out your inner child with a grown up pair of Mary Janes!

Count CFO Alex Sink among the growing list of leaders supporting the call for teachers with four-year degrees to lead Florida's prekindergarten classes. Sink will join business, education and law enforcement officers at 2 p.m. Monday in the Governor's Large Conference Room to discuss the importance of bumping up the teacher certification requirements in the Universal Prekindergarten law.
The Florida Tax Watch issued a two-page paper today pushing the issue, too. "How can Florida meet the demand for highly qualified pre-kindergarten teachers?" it asks. "The routes to quality already exist." Among them: alternative certification and teacher preparation institutes. The group argues that the return on investment makes it more than worthwhile to pay the costs.
In case you missed it, there's a campaign afoot to bolster the state's national rating on the pre-k front, and it involves teacher quality. Six former governors and the widow of a seventh made the call for higher credentials for
Yes, I too am jumping on the “Ditch the blogroll and just share posts we loved” bandwagon. I see this as a good change, so I’m all for doing what the cool kids are doing this time around.
That said I’m always looking for new and interesting people to add to my own reading list, so if you are lurking and want me to swing by, just drop me a comment!
When hearing hyped up music news I often ask myself, what type of band could make modern music I would actually enjoy listening to. I think it’s pretty obvious from my posts that 90% of what I listen to was NOT released this decade, (and probably not even last decade), so when I first heard about hot new band Arctic Monkeys, I was skeptical. I’ve only been hearing about this band for months (if not years) now, but finally got around to listening to them and although I’m not sold completely yet, I think there is definitely enough there to make them worth checking out.
All the hype surrounding this band said that they sound influenced by bands I love, like the Clash, the Jam and the Smiths. I was a little hesitant as that is not the first time I’ve heard that said… and so I waited. Now, that I’ve heard them, I do think they make good music, but not as groundbreaking as all the hype claimed. That doesn’t mean they won’t be groundbreak
Even Iowa Has ADraft Fred Thompson BlogHaving been contacted by numerous Republican campaigns, I as many others have not been able get excited about the prospects of any current Republican candidates for president in 2008. Although I have really tried, I simply cannot force myself to support McCain or Romney.I had pretty much resigned myself to conceding the Democrats controlling Congress and the White House in 2008. That is until Fred Thompson started sending signals. The Draft Thompson movement already has traction, and I do not see it as a ruse as the Draft Condi movement was.I had seen another Draft Fred Thompson blog, but just noticed a new Iowa blog, Iowans For Fred Thompson. Check it out... Thompson Republican President Politics

Info World is reporting that Microsoft is jumping on another bandwagon. This time, video sharing. This isn’t new news, but the arrival of any public beta always hits the headlines.

The service, which Microsoft unveiled [...]
HT to Rus Thompson for pointing out this absurdity. Our next crime might be DWD, driving while drowsy.
Oh Boy, yet another brilliant piece of legislation introduced in Albany. Do they have a test for this like a snooze-A-lizer.. I can just see the cops now pulling some one over for this… asking how much sleep did you get? Do you have a witness that can testify to this.. OK Sir out of the vehicle we have a field snooze test to give you…
What if you refuse the snooze test, will there be a mandatory sentence such as 12 weeks in sleep therapy? Will the insurance companies be required to pay for it? How much of a surcharge on top of the fine will there be…
I can just picture a bunch of legislators sitting around their favorite after hours club in Albany, having a few drinks and suffering from sleep deprivation, when one of them says: “Let’s have a contest. Let’s see who can come up with the best law to protect people from themselves and increase
I’ve been meaning to talk about this issue for quite a while. One of the main hesitations I have in discussing the issues of non-violence and pacifism, is people’s immediate disgust with the idea that I don’t “Support Our Troops.” We actually used to have one of those yellow ribbons on the back of our car; along side a bumper sticker that said, “War is Not the Answer.” I’m very much a believer in the support and love of “our troops,” in the same way I’m in support of loving our enemies, children and soldiers. You see, Supporting Our Troops isn’t just a bumper sticker bandwagon, it’s something that requires a bit more of us.
Did you know that Veterans account for nearly 25% of the Homeless population in the United States? Where is the Support of our troops after they come home? I don’t believe in supporting our troops by giving them more bombs, bullets and tanks with which to kill more, but I beli
It seems lately that every money making blog I read has a post about how they've joined MyLot, I resisted joining myself for awhile as the returns didn't seem very high. I eventually succumbed and signed up, just to see what all the fuss was about.
What is MyLot?
MyLot is similar to a forum, you start or participate in discussions, unlike most forums though, the discussions can be about any subject. The most important difference between MyLot and forums is that MyLot pay you for contributing.
How much do you get paid?
How much you get paid depends on the quality of the contributions. Nobody except MyLot know exactly how the payments are worked out, but there seems to be some complex algorithm that rewards for quality. What this means is you get paid less or possibly even nothing for simple one word answers, and more for more thorough answers. Although even if the quality of your responses are high the payouts are still small, only a few cents, you have to do a lot of writing t

Autobild [print edition] reports that Ford of Europe is planning an upmarket four-door coupe. Ford's "CD" platform-- upon which the Mondeo is based-- is both highly flexible and expensive. Sometimes the future takes its time to arrive. The nirvana of free, or dirt cheap, telephone calls around the world from your mobile phone through the internet has been promised for years, but hasn't happened.
Goodbye Florida Marlins, your pitching staff is a joke and half of your hitters can barely hit above the "Mendoza Line". I am sick of Taylor Tankersley. I am fed up with Fredi Gonzalez. I am through with this weak pitching staff.
