Gaming site Game|Life reports that weapons in Battlefield: Bad Company will be up for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace. This comes straight from a screenshot produced from the recently released beta. The in-game “unlocks” menu lists a variety of weapons, some of which read “buy this weapon on Xbox Live Marketplace” when highlighted. The inclusion of microtransactions in EA games has become quite a worrying trend, having players buy the weapons instead of earning them through playing the game. Battlefield Heroes, an upcoming free-to-play multiplayer shooter, will also include microtransactions in a bid to support its free structure.
According to rumours leaked by a game tester for Battlefield: Bad Company, EA is planning on charging to unlock some of the weapons used in the game. 10 in all, although it is said that five of these weapons would come unlocked with Gold Edition of the game, gamers will still have to pay for the other five and those who buy regular version will have to pay for all ten of them. And given EA's record for supposed DLCs(because the contents were on the disc to begin with) in recent Need For Speed titles, this rumour is not far from reality. And, I personally think it is ridiculous for them to ask us gamers to pay $59.99 for a game and then turn around and try to charge us these fees to unlock something that should already come with the game to begin with. if it were the other Battlefield DICE

Innanzitutto la vena ironica che lo differenzia dai soliti sparatutto; ma la cosa va assolutamente menzionata è l’ altissimo livello di dettaglio dovuto al motore grafico Frostbite di Digital Illusions.
