Let me summarize this...

It recently struck me when talking to friends that not many people know that the Nintento Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube, and even includes connectivity for the Game Boy Advance. Nintendo Wii Backwards Compatibility is not all plain sailing though as this article explains.
When the Nintendo Wii was introduced, one of [...]
The unrest between the Lebanese state and the radical militia Hezbollah has escalated. The conflict began after the government attempted to ban Hezbollah's telecommunications network in southern Lebanon, which was the militia's main means of communication during the 2006 Lebanon War. It has also emerged that Hezbollah installed cameras near Beirut airport to 'monitor' anti-Syrian politicians. Given that Hezbollah is extensively funded and supplied by Syria, this monitoring has a sinister undertone of intentions to assassinate the enemies of Hezbollah's backer. The militia has taken control of the state media and west Beirut. The conflict between the government and militia has reminded some of the 1975-90 civil war as Hezbollah has once again attempted to throw off the democratic state. Any
I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, start out dead and get it out of the way. Then you wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink alcohol, you party, you're generally promiscuous and you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a baby, then, you spend your last 9 months floating peacefully with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, larger quarters everyday, and finally you finish off as an orgasm.

An appropriate benchmark is probably one of the most important aspects of long-term investing. Yet, most individual investors have never thought much about benchmarks.
A benchmark is important from a couple of perspectives: (1) It provides a basis to compare how you are doing against a passive alternative, and (2) [...]

Five years ago, on February 14, my Daddy (its a southern thing) died. It took me two weeks to shed a tear. I’ve thought of those days preceding his death and immediately following his death often over the past years, wondering what if.

That's how you make the big bucks. Expect a happy fun time link in the sidebar eventually.I was told by the dentist, today, that I have too much gum on my one and only wisdom tooth. Yes, I'm some kind of freakish abnormality. Now, I'm sure this is supposed to be alarming, and maybe it would be. For those that don't know me, I have four little girls whose ages are almost seven, five, two and a half, and one. I've obviously survived it twice, right?

Happy Wednesday to you! It's time once again to post another WFMW tip. Once again Shannon is doing a Backwards Day edition where you ask for advice, rather than give it.So, I need help figuring something out. How do you nip older sibling jealousy in the bud? Let me give you some background info.Snuggle Bug has been an only child for nearly 3 years. Then along came our first foster daughter, Baby Bug. At nearly 4 months old, she isn't much of a threat to him. In fact, Snuggle Bug adores her. Sounds good, right?Well, then along came our second foster daughter, Boo. At 12 months old, she is much more of a "threat" to Snuggle Bug. He is having a difficult time sharing his toys and sharing his mommy and daddy with her.We understand that Snuggle Bug has had a lot to adjust to and that he hasn'

No, actually I haven’t! Walking backwards or jogging backwards on the treadmill works muscles in an entirely different way than walking forwards. I've been working on this one for ages ... it's Alice and the Unicorn from Through the Looking Glass.
The text reads:
`Well, now that we HAVE seen each other,' said the Unicorn, `if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?'
`Yes, if you like,' said Alice.
Here's a bit of a detail shot:

By: Joy Gendusa The constant struggle to get people to want to work for you is an enigma most business owners wrestle with. I have isolated successful methods through growing my multi-million dollar company from the ground up. In my experience it all comes down to how you want to be treated. I was raised in a lovey-dovey family where my parents wanted me to feel great about myself. Maybe it is because I was raised Jewish and all Jewish mothers think their children are superior – who knows... Whatever the reason, I grew up hearing and believing I could do anything. That kind of confidence instilled in me led me to believe that I could instill that confidence in others. When I first started out I could not afford to hire expensive help and found the most successful type of personnel for my business were young, inexperienced adults in their late teens that had an abundance of willingness. And I do mean an abundance of it – in my viewpoint, there is no better commodity.A Little Bit Goes
Thanksgiving is coming up. And because I originally came from the Philippines and "Thanksgiving Day" was not a holiday we celebrated when I was young, I am do not have memories of it, nor do I have ideas how to best celebrate it.I love family traditions - we have lots of Christmas family traditions when I was growing up. My hubby is from Connecticut, and I thought he would have a lot of "Thanksgiving Day" tradition he could start in our family, but I couldn't get much from him. So, would you please help me ... if you have one that works for your family - would you share it with me? Thank you.Oh by the way, Works For Me Wednesday is "backwards" again this week. Go there for more questions that needs to be answered - maybe you can help. Or if you have a question yourself, why not start a post and link it there.

I am not usually prone to hypochondria, but I seem to have caught a dose of the malady from my flatmate who, when I enter our abode having popped outside for a quick cigarette, wraps his scarf around his mouth and shouts, through the woollen garment, "I'm catching cancer! I'm catching cancer!". He also claims to be able to smell the cigarettes of people smoking on the street when he is in his bedroom (which does not have a window facing the street, and which is 40 feet from the nearest window that does).Normally, I am unconcerned that I smell like I am dying, but yesterday I convinced myself that I had shortened my life by at least three days on the discovery that I was smoking a cigarette backwards. When I first lit the pleasure stick, I had stumbled, but thought nothing of it. Further down the road, I became acquainted with a neighbour's shrubbery. Having righted myself, I detected a strange taste in my mouth; my tongue told me I was eating an unfortunate, partially cooked hedgeho
I’m sure many of you have heard already that Sony announced a new, lower priced 40GB model of the PS3, probably so that people would stop whining that the console is “too expensive.” But now I, and many of you no doubt, have heard rumblings and complaints about the lack of PS2 support for the console. This, coupled with the fact that this version lacks the additional 2 USB ports and the card reader of its predecessor, has made quite a few people angry. Misguided, ill informed people, of course, but people nonetheless. And because they are people who at least show some interest in the PS3, and are not cows and infants and monkeys and grandmas and newly weds and turkeys like the average Nintendo fanboy, they deserve an explanation for this decision. And Sony, the noble, brave, and reliable people that they are, provided one for us:
To ensure accurate software emulation for the majority [of PS2 games] would be technically challenging, time consuming and costly. As we ha
Last week Works For Me Wednesdays did a reverse. Instead of us giving tips, we were to ask questions so others can give tips and advise. I asked help on "feeding my family", asking for simple recipes. I got a lots of responses, and I tell you - they all helped! Last week's edition of WFMW worked for me! This week I had been cooking and our family is eating healthy yummy breakfast, lunch and dinners. hurray! Look out below!!Let's take a trip to Anshun in Guizhou Province, China. Anshun is about a 2 hour bus trip from the Guzhou's capital, Guiyang. But you can't mention Guiyang without talking about Anshun. Why?Because the biggest waterfall in Asia and one of the biggest in the world is in this tiny, countryside town of 370,000 people (Yes, that is a tiny town - in China!). That waterfall is called Huangguoshu.Look at all the green! And it's not money!Of course, when Zoe and I arrived at Huangguoshu during the holiday, there were tons of people, but that didn't stop us from taking in the sight of this massive natural wonder. Who would have thought that Anshun, a countryside town that most people in the world, let alone China, don't know about has such a great wonder? With China hustling and bustling to make that money and develop into the world's greatest industrial and economic dragon, we tend to forget that China maintains and celebrates its natural beauty, because this is what made
I hope to spend the next few posts on how my vacation went down. Keep your eyes posted. I'll put up stuff soon on my Guiyang trip with my aweseome wife, Zoe! But for now, we're going to work backwards starting with Yue Festival stuff. Here's a video by me with Talib Kweli on performing in China. Sorry for the poor quality vid, but listen to what he says and tell me what you think. By the way, I was backstage for his performance and Talib was well recieved. I'm quite proud of this educated Brooklyn brotha. Very inspirational. Here's Redstar with Talib Kweli. Pic is kind of shaky, but yeah, that's us.Thanks for taking the pic, Siesta! The Yue Festival was a good time and I hope there will be another next year and for the future... heck, hope Redstar gets to perfrom there as well! More vacation stuff to come!Be on the look out with Redstar and Busdriver at 4live. Live music in China isn't dead.
On October 4, 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik and Science education changed in the United States. Money poured into schools to enhance the study of Science at every grade level. Materials for hands-on learning, textbooks, and lab equipment were all improved in order to promote a new generation of students who would flourish in every area of Science.Robert Yager in School Science and Mathematics wrote:Science and mathematics education have been linked to technological advances, the economy, and the well being of the United States citizenry since the Sputnik Shock of 1957. In the 20 years following the Soviet exploits in space, $2 billion were expended to advance K-12 science education in the US. It was a response designed to salve the nation’s wounded pride and the beginning of the dramatic infusion of funds and scientific talents to improve school science and mathematics.Science education has certainly improved and is probably the most consistent “hands-on” subject in our

Monday, December 3 (continued)Every time I see Maggie alone, I chide myself to go talk to her. What’s the worst that can happen? I swing over to her and my hand comes up. But Christ! I can’t speak. “Hey, Malkie,” she cries, “come here and sit down.” But I’m scurrying backwards, halfway down the hall.
She’s up, cupping her hands to her mouth. “What’s that you say? ‘Can’t now? Maybe later?’ ”

I love how drowsy, dull-witted, and spaced-out a daytime allergy medicine makes me feel.
Um, NOT.
That’s all I can manage at this point…allergy medicines are the heartless killers of the brain cells required to write thoughtful blog posts.
I am writing in response to the proposed hospital-based schools of nursing ("Training plan puts patients at risk: nurses", September 15, p2). I add two points to the debate. First, the programs raise an issue of equity. University of Canberra nursing students pay to study and learn by working two to three days per week in community health, residential aged care, mental health, as well as hospital services. The work is unpaid, with many students doing paid work to support themselves and their families. Part-time study is increasing, effectively delaying graduation and entry into the workforce. Students in the proposed 18-month enrolled nurse programs will be paid a weekly salary hardly a fair use of limited federal resources. Second, the Government's press release (September 14) suggests that administrators and doctors will have greater input into the educational program. This self-serving approach, where the same people who seek to control nursing work and nurses design the progra

Pullhair Rubeye is the first solo album released by Animal Collective member Avey Tare and his wife, Kría Brekkan (Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir, formerly of múm). The album was released on April 24, 2007 in CD, LP, and digital formats. It was recorded with guitars and piano on an eight track in their practice space in Brooklyn and later mixed down on a borrowed two track. A leaked promo appeared on the internet on February 26 featuring every track reversed as well as tracks 3, 6, and 7 played back in double speed. Along with these changes, Foetus No-Man, which had vocal arrangements as well as lyrical content on early live performances, appears to have become an instrumental. It was later confirmed by Avey Tare that this promo is an accurate representation of the retail version. For a reason yet unknown, four songs from Pullhair Rubeye have been released on the duo's myspace page in "forward" form. Meaning whatever effects they put on the tracks in the studio that ended up on the fi
First, there was the panic attack that I woke with on Friday morning. The weekend went fairly well, but last night another one came on. It was a little different in character, but basically the same thing. It kept me up until well past two in the morning. I got up today at 7:30 feeling okay but literally too tired to get out of bed. I turned my alarms off and thought since it was the beginning of the workweek I should start it off with enough rest. I woke up a couple of more times before finally getting out of bed a little before 10:30. That's obviously way too late.Woke with ocular migraine. It was mild and went away within ten minutes. The real problem, again, was nausea. It was the same way I went to bed. I took my Klonopin shortly after getting up and will soon see if that's enough to knock it out. I'm feeling a bit better now. Symptoms are a little less nausea than before, hot, nervous, and a bunch of weird tastes in my mouth.I wish I knew why I'm suddenly having
Today has been very, very slow so far and I'll be continuing this evening to hopefully make my target. I only had two bets this afternoon, the odds on two year old at Yarmouth which absolutely blitzed the field and Holiday Cocktail at Wolverhampton. In hindsight I probably made two errors. Firstly, these odds on two year olds are not doing me any favours, I'm losing more than I am winning and I'm more than likely going to side step them for a while. Secondly, I tried to be a bit too clever with Holiday Cocktail, I layed it for 1.5% pre off time then attempted to get the other 1.5% IR. However, it didn't even go close and I let 1.5% slip by. The result was a slight loss of 0.9% for the afternoon but I've got three lays to fire into this evening which will hopefully do their thing. I'll update later on the results....John.
I started tracking my investments on August 1, 2002. Since then, I have done my best to keep good records. Since I have added money to the pool according to no particular schedule, it has been difficult to determine accurate returns. That said, I have tried to do so anyway. In general, I have counted money I deposited into my investment accounts at any time during the year as having been there at the start of the year, thereby making my calculated return lower than it might have otherwise been.Since I started on August 1, my fiscal year begins on August 1 and ends on July 31. In other words, I started keeping track almost five years ago (more on that later). To satisfy curiosity, though, here are my returns for the fiscal year ending:2003: 9.74%2004: 8.01%2005: 19.31%2006: 13.13%2007: 23.92% (through June 30)Overall, not bad returns at all. I have been very satisfied. I really started thinking, though, about where I was five years ago. I wonder a few things:1 - Did I correctly predict

First, there was this:
the Senate takes up the repeal of the parental notification law. There will be a public hearing on May 29. The bill, which would repeal a 2003 law that required a parent to be notified before a minor daughter can have an abortion, easily passed the House, 226-130. Gov. John Lynch favors repeal
Isn’t having sex with a minor, consensual or not, rape? Yes. If you prefer to not call it rape, your daughter is guilty of bad judgement.(It’s still rape whether you like it or not).So your daughter can be raped and have an abortion. She can have a surgical procedure, and you don’t have the right to know.
Now, there’s this:
Should a 20-year-old man who has sex with a 13-year-old girl be on the public sex offender registry? Yes, under current state law. Yes, under federal law.
Maybe, under a bill the Senate is close to passing.
If HB 504, which won a 4-1 vote in committee, goes ahead this week, anyone under 21 could ask the court for removal from the

It didn't come up, but there was a hit for a home 2 houses down from it that is on the market. This particular listing offered a satellite view of the neighborhood and I saw our old house. At first I couldn't believe it was our old home. Where was the grass? Where were the tree's? But yes... the landscape timber around the fenceline, the shape of the house and the fact that it was located on the exact property lot that our old house used to sit made me accept the fact that it was, indeed, our old stomping grounds. The home we brought BabyGirl to as a newborn from the hospital. As I sat there and stared at the house I felt the memories rushing back to me from our days in that home. Those awful, horrible, stressful days. You see, there is a reason we left

I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, you know, start out dead, get it out of the way. You wake up in an old age home, feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You enjoy life, you party, and you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a baby, then, you spend your last 9 months floating peacefully with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, larger quarters everyday, and then......... you finish off as an orgasm!Author UnknownTechnorati Tags: life, work, party, kids, orgasm________________________________________________

I was musing recently with Kathlyn about how much trouble we human beings cause for ourselves for mistaking up and down for in and out. There really isn’t any such thing as up and down, although it’s easy to see why we get it wrong. When you jump “up,” you’re really aiming your head out [...]
Any easy effect that just about anyone can do is to take footage and reverse it in post. This can be used in one of two ways: to make something look like it's moving backwards (duh), or to take something shot backwards and make it look like it was supposed to be forwards. As a simple effects shot, this can yield some cool results. In my short film, Middle of Nowhere, I wanted a car's digital clock to look like it was ticking backwards. I simply shot the clock normally, then reversed the footage later. What I really liked was the colon between the numbers was blinking as if it was running forward, then GASP! it went back in time! This can also be a way to safely pull off shots that are inherently dangerous. Remember in Predator (1987), when the alien pins Arnold's neck to the log with the wrist-mounted knives? Close inspection will reveal that the knives started in the log, and were then pulled out, insuring Schwarzenegger wouldn't be injured.Sometimes this effect is played out as a g
Newsflash!Asher, as a rule, hates to be on his stomach. As a result, milestones like sitting up, rolling over, and crawling have been hard to come by, since he just doesn't want to practice. But recently he's begun to respect the value in being mobile and today I put him on his tummy and he started creeping for the first time! (I think this is the correct term for dragging yourself around without really using your legs) Except...try as he might, he could only go backwards. He was already out the room before he broke down in frustrated tears, finding himself so much further from his goal than he had started out. I, however, was cheering and clapping. There's no stopping him now. ------After writting the above, I put him down for a nap. He woke himself up 40 minutes later by rolling over on to his stomach in his sleep! Then later in the day he pulled himself up from sitting to standing. What a day!
Backwards Bush:today it is 667 days until G.W Bush is out of office in US.
When I was in Washington last week I bought a counter: backward Bush. With that counter I carry my keys while counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until G.W Bush is out of office.
I will report from this countdown from now on. In the bottom part of my posts every day.
And this countdown has - of couse - a wonderful homepage.

Sony have launched a website which catalogues backwards compatibility of the cost reduced European version of the PS3 and for the first time the true extent of incompatibility with some of the most popular Playstation 2 titles is apparent. On the whole most games should play perfectly or have only minor issues, though a significant number of games have what is described as “noticeable issues” including favorites such as Beyond Good & Evil, Burnout 2, Canis Canem Edit (aka Bully), Devil May Cry 2, FIFA 07, Final Fantasy 10, Final Fantasy X-2, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Need For Speed Carbon, Okami, Pro Evolution 6, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2&4 (Silent Hill 3 doesnt seem to work at all!), all Singstar games, Tiger Woods 2005 & WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007. Amongst these titles are some of the most popular titles on the platform, most of which would have worked perfectly had the european version been equipped with the “emotion engine” CPU as the
In a final kick in the crotch UK buyers, following the 4 month delay from it’s US / Japanese release, the fact that UK buyers will have to pay a load more for it and the lack of the more affordable 20GB version as an option, Sony have announced that the UK / European version of the PS3 will have drastically reducedbackwards compatibility with PS2 and PSX games. This is due to the european version being redesigned with less chips dedicated to backwards compatibility, their role being taken over by software, which stinks of cost reductions, which is particularly inappropriate as Europe and the UK will pay a significantly higher price than their American and Japanese counterparts, even when VAT is taken into account.
Sony seems determined to treat thier european customers as shabbily as possible, overcharging them for inferior products which are late.

In an attempt to emphasize the XBox in XBox360 Microsoft has gone ahead and updated the list of backwards compatible games. Well sort of. It turns out, for a brief moment, Microsoft had posted a list of old to XBox but new to 360 games and then - just as quickly - it disappeared.
At this point we can only think that the list was tentative and likely to change. Some good news, though, is that Psychonauts and Destroy All Humans! have made the list.
I’m really surprised that the list of BC games is growing so slowly but I’m also glad to see it happening. I’ve retired my XBox - it’s in a carrying case up on the third floor - but there are several titles that keep popping up in the bargain bin that I want to test out.
Keep an eye on the official list on XBox.com for updates or check out James Woodcock’s Blog for a list.

Forget about any hopes for progress. We're now reaching back over 15 years to an earlier failure, George H.W. Bush. The single-term, do-nothing president who was thrown out of office. The one who said there was a lot of economic opportunity in the country because of a help wanted sign he saw at a fast food restaurant. The one who threw up on Japanese leaders during a tragic trip there, dragging executives from America's auto companies, which were in as bad of shape as they are now. The one who was amazed at supermarket scanner technology, which was then already a decade old. The one who didn't push thru any meaningful domestic agenda, flip-flopped on taxes, never understood voter frustrations over the economy, didn't finish the job in Iraq, never addressed unfair trade practices around the world, and did nothing for HIV/AIDS. That George H.W. Bush.
After initially ignoring daddy and seeking advice from the bible-thumping neo-con crowd, W is running back to daddy for help.
This is a shocking video from Youtube.com made to show just how bad the PS3 is when playing PS2 and PS1 games on it. The whole reason I wasn't going to buy an XBox was so that all the money I have spent on PS games over the last few years won't be wasted. Seems as if I must not bother. Will Sony fix it? I am sure that if there are enough complaints, then they will, but how long will we have to wait? The price of the PS3 is still very high and I am wondering if I should rather buy Windows Vista, a game box or a really cool coffee machine.
hunky chest Originally uploaded by RikinIllinois. This guy is broad, chest and shoulders and smile. A dusting of hair between his pecs but a nice happy trail. Wouldn't think such a beefy guy would have a prominent Adonis' Belt but he does.Wish he'd pull those shorts down a wee bit more.
10"Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt." 11But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?" 12And He said, "Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain." Exodus 3:10-12 (NASB)What strikes me in reading this passage, which I know I've read at least a thousand times, is in God's response to Moses' complaint. Moses whines about his inadequacy to the task, trying to get out of this job Jehovah has set; God belays his complaint with a promise and a sign. His promise is that He will be with Moses, as his strength and support. The sign God gives is that Moses and all of Israel will worship Him on that mountain.Uhm, God, I don't mean to be critical here but . . . uhm . . . well . . . that's kinda back
