The poster for Vin Diesel’s new sci-fi movie, Babylon A.D has been released online. Not many people are into Vin Diesel but I have a small soft spot for him and besides, the movie poster looks cool. The film follows the story of a Veteran-turned-mercenary Thoorop (played by Diesel) who lands the high-risk job of escorting a woman from Russia to China. He’s unaware that she is to host an organism that a cult wants to harvest in order to produce a genetically modified Messiah. The film is based on the French novel by Maurice G. By far one of the greatest books ever written is Richard S. Clayson's "The Richest Man in Babylon".  While the book can be read over the course of one day by most people, it will give you the basic rules of creating wealth all in one place.Originally published in 1926 (!), it really is the precursor of all do-it-yourself financial planning books out there. He doesn’t answer the question you’ve asked - he answers some wacko interpretation of your question, and even then, it could be days later - and he walks away before your discussion is finished. That whole Vorlon attitude of “Oh, we’re so old and above your petty squabbles, you silly younger races!” only adds to his jerkishness. You know what Babylon 5 has been missing so far? Racism. And hate crimes involving the stabbing and branding of alien poets. Woohoo! Susan Ivanova has arrived on Babylon 5! I’ve always loved her character for several reasons. In “Midnight on the Firing Line” its because she’s absolutely in control of the station, does it well and feels no need to be nice about it. Ivanova is curt, direct and professional, but never bitchy or nice. That was always one of the problems I had with the Star Trek gals: they’re all so nice. Brace yourself. Watching the pilot movie “The Gathering” was. . . well, the only thing that got me through it was knowing where Babylon 5 would eventually go and knowing which characters didn’t make it past the pilot. There are a lot of genre shows that I love, but I totally geek out over Babylon 5 in a way that I didn’t know was possible. I first heard about Babylon 5 in an early issue of Science Fiction Age Magazine, around 1992 when the pilot was still in production. It was a short blurb, but it grabbed me and got me interested, which was hard for anything to do when I was 16. The article’s accompanying picture was of Michael O’Hare and Jerry Doyle in costume, holding really big guns, and looking eager to blow something away.
