Today was a very long day. I spent most of it in the emergency room with my cousin, Tori. She tried to kill herself a little after 3am this morning.
My lunch break is between 8:30 and 9am since my shift starts at 5am. I was eating lunch when my roommate, Dudney called. He asked if I had talked to Tori. I told him I hadn’t talked with her since last night. When I asked him why he wanted to know he told me that she was missing.
He said that when her mom got home from work at 7:30 the doors were open, all the lights were on, Tori’s stereo was playing, and her crutches and wheelchair were still there. Then he told me they found a suicide note. My heart dropped and I felt like I was going to be sick.
I knew she had been depressed and was dealing with a lot because we had been talking about it quite often lately. I had been trying to help her cope with everything that was going on. She went back to work at the bar a couple of months ago and she has been getting drunk almost every night

Santa Monica police confirmed that officers responded to an attempted suicide at Owen Wilson's house, according to the police log.The department's "Call for Service Report" posted online shows that the report came in at 12:08 p.m. Sunday from Wilson's 23rd Street address and that officers cleared the case five hours later.The call was logged as "Attempt Suicide" – the first official confirmation of the reason for the call. One question I ask my students is: If you could be richer, smarter, or better looking, which one would you be? Many say "better looking" though I think the real number is higher (especially amongst the girls as they constantly see the prettier girls get to do more stuff), but many students are embarrassed to say. So, what's with some of the most envied beauties attempting suicide or otherwise engaging in behavior which leads one to conclude they're not happy? We've got Halle, Britney, Anna Nicole, and Lohan. I'm sure you can name another 20. It's a subject worth exploring sometime.
All of these women are or were unhappy at one time despite having been constantly told how beautiful they were.
