We had a great weekend. Saturday we went to see Mom and Don in Salem. It was a really nice day. Watched some football, worked on their computer, had some great conversation, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Thanks guys! Sunday we went grocery shopping and while we were out we picked up a couple of things for Weston. One, the new collar he’s sporting in this photo, and also some new toys. GERMANY - A mad squirrel went on a rampage and attacked and injured three people before a 72-year-old granny smacked it into submission with her cane.The squirrel first entered a home in Passau, a small town in southern Germany and jumped up on an unsuspecting 70-year-old woman and sank it's teeth into her hand, a local police spokesperson said. The terrorized elderly woman ran into the street with the squirrel still attached to her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday.After that the squirrel apparently ran into a building site and attacked a construction worker who was bitten in the hand and arm. The worker managed to fight off the mad squirrel with a measuring pole. Police say the squirrel then entered "the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. Now it may be that people will wonder why it is I seem to attack the popular media a lot in this blog and the reason is simple.
It is because the popular media is the conduit through which the people recieve the majority of their information.
Notice the flow of that sentence. To look at it from the perspective of communication theory, the popular media is a perfect example of channel based communication.
In its simplest terms, channel based communication is where a message is passed from sender to receiver through a specific channel or medium.
With communication though, it is generally the case that there is more than one channel carrying information, which would generally mean that information is balanced and contrasted with other information, which tends to allow people to receive a balanced view of messages being received.
