The ECVT has two electric motors and four fixed gears. One of the motors aids power at low speeds and the other at highway speeds. The Hemi V8 also has Chrysler's Multi-Displacement System, which shuts down four cylinders under light load conditions to conserve fuel. Total output is 385 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. I was able to dig up some pictures from a Marshall Gulch hike that I took a little over a year ago with Erica. The hike was actually back before we had Cody, so it was just myself Erica, Turbo and Tranny. I have to say that it is my most memorable hike of all time and it is still the one that I use as a measuring stick, both for the company and the hike itself. I think it was the first time that I really realized that Tucson had hiking to offer that was not desert oriented. I posted the information and some of the hike pictures up on Tucson Complete at Aspen Loop From Marshall Gulch. This coming weekend Glenn, over at Roi Rat Journal, and I will be heading to the Butterfly Trail. It should be quite the hike and very scenic seeing as how the mountains are covered in snow at the moment!!! Daimler-Chrysler quietly introduced the two-mode hybrid variant of its Aspen SUV today. It will join the Durango Two-Mode Hybrid, the sister car of the Aspen, early next year when it goes on sale. Both the Durango and the Aspen Hybrid will be powered by a two-mode hybrid system coupled with the 5.7L HEMI V8.To add more fuel efficiency, the HEMI for both models will be equipped with variable cylinder deactivation, which turns off four of the eight cylinders when used for light load conditions.
