Archipenko (Getty)Mike de Kock finally broke his duck in the UK when Archipenko took the Group 2 Summer Mile under Kevin Shea at Ascot on Saturday afternoon. In doing so the iconic Mike de Kock became the first South African trainer to win a race in England, the traditional hub of racing. Mike de Kock Racing reports that Archipenko (11-1) took up the running soon after the small, quality field swu
Cuis Ghaire(Getty) Friday at Royal Ascot was Galileo Day when - by the close of play - the remarkable Coolmore stallion had both his ninth individual Group 1 winner and the new favourite for next year's 1,000 Guineas. Coolmore reports that the two fillies who achieved that feat were, like many of Galileo's other top performers, trained at Coolcullen in County Carlow by Jim Bolger. Lush Lashes (3f

Final day at Ascot and we will go for Sakhee's Secret Golden Jubilee Stakes to beat Takeover Target. We have had a dreadful run at Euro 2008 but will predict a draw in tonight's quarter final, while in
I cannot and will not let another year pass without mentioning a great British tradition: Royal Ascot. I missed Ladies' Day yesterday and do not plan on missing the big day tomorrow.Founded by Queen Anne in 1711, Royal Ascot is 5 days of great horse racing.
Dreams of going to Ascot have been in my mind since I can remember. Even as a wee girl the smell of the scones and the frivolity of wearing

Mr. Prospector (Stallions Premium) What was very striking about the results of the mile races is that all six placings were filled by horses from the Mr. Prospector sire line: the Australian version of Fusaichi Pegasus , Zamindar, and Mr. Greeley in the Queen Anne; and Kingmambo, Elusive Quality, and Observatory in the St. James's Palace. Three of the six are by sons of Gone West: Zamindar, Mr. G

Yeats (BBC)The main attention surrounds the hat-trick bid of SOLSKJAER’s brother YEATS (Ire) in the traditional showpiece, the G1 Gold Cup which was inaugurated in 1807. No horse since the Francois Boutin-trained Sagaro (GB) has achieved the feat and Susan Magnier and Diane Nagle’s seven-year-old will be bridging a 31-year gap, since that great stayer wrapped up the third of his succe

The Queen and members of the Royal Family will join the thousands of racing fans on each day of the event, as they do every year. Their arrival, in horse-drawn carriages before the first race of the day, amassed a large crowd.
Those privileged enough to be in the Royal Enclosure, which maintains a famously strict admittance policy, will have to keep their eye on their outfit this year. After

Yes, Royal Ascot, the dowager of the flat racing calendar kicks off tomorrow, and one has to ask the question, why?
Why does this joke of a five day event command so much airtime on a publicly owned television channel?
I say joke, because that’s all it is to me or any outsider to the obscenely wealthy [...]
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Leonardo da Vinci (1452 – 1519) Truer words have never been spoken….and Stührling Original has taken Mr. da Vinci’s words to heart with their new Ascot Series. The pureness of the Ascot is exceeded only by its grace; and at less than 6mm thin from front to back, the Ascot presents a genteel persona that is right at home at even the most high-browed formal events! Exuding a prestigious identity with its super-fine hour and minute hands along with its ever-so delicate stick markers, this little beauty not only looks the part but it offers a finely crafted intricate Swiss quartz movement providing precision and reliability.

It’s been a busy week for all of us, but especially King After!
He was out on Tuesday at Lingfield in an apprentice race for jockeys who had ridden fewer than 25 winners, so unfortunately we couldn’t use Stephane, but we found an able substitute in Nicol Polli who rode well to instructions to finish second. He maybe just overdid the missing the break bit and lost too much ground, but apart from that he did well.
Stephane was back on board on Thursday, and I think if he hadn’t got blocked in down the straight he would have been very close - at least it showed King After to still be in good fettle!
Hucking Harmony ran on the same day and maybe would have won if she’d gone round the bend rather than straight on! We dedcided to let her jump and run as we knew she was pretty sharp, especially out the stalls. And all looked to be going well until the bend! Nevertheless, she had a good experience and Stephane didn’t knock her about, yet she still ran on to finish
