Arcade Fire - Neon Bible (Mercury) Je fais partie de ceux qui n'ont jammais été complétement transit par Arcade Fire. J'adore mais l'admiration sans bornes que leur porte a peu près tout le monde m'a un peu ennuyé. Même si le premier album est une cathédrale magique et mystique, dont on ressort tout chose. Le deuxieme est forcemment moins bon. Mais il dévoile une autre facette du groupe, plus sombre, plus introspective et moins extatique. Voilà pourquoi les hymnes hédonistes tordus qui jonchés le premier album ne sont ici que des hymnes. Ce qui fait une difference. On écoutera donc moins celui là, mais point question ici de bouder son plaisir, ca reste l'un des meilleurs album de l'année par l'un des meilleurs groupe actuel. Je pense que les gens qui lisent ce blog conaissent le principe des Split Singles, certains sont géniaux, d'autre passables. Celui ci rentre plutôt dans la première catégorie. Composé de la reprise qu'Arcade Fire a joué plusieurs fois sur leur dernière tournée (Poupée de cire, poupée de son, de on sait qui) et de No Love Lost, de Lcd Soundsystem, qui reprend Joy Division. Last night LCD Soundsystem and the Arcade Fire rocked out the Hollywood Bowl and let me just say, it was amaaazing! I'd seen arcade fire once before at Coachella however it was nowhere near last nights experience. Why you may wonder? A.D.D. Coachella as you may know is stimuli overloaded and it gets the best of me. I obviously hear the bands while my girlfriends and I rock out however I often manage to neglect the actual visuals of the performance. The only time I really pay attention to the bands is in the VIP and artist area and the fact is, performers are much cooler when striking their guitars and making love to their violins. Well, here it is: the 57th Neon Bible review you’ve read in the past 2 months. From what I’ve read, opinions tend to span the spectrum from absolutely deplorable to amazing and indelible. They most certainly all mention the incredible rise the Montreal band has had since the release of their first album Funeral in 2005. How they have been become the “darlings” (why this word specifically is used so commonly, I have no idea) of the indie rock world is probably mentioned as well.
