CLARIFICATION AND APOLOGY - SORT OF
A WINDOW INTO RACISM IN AMERICA, 2008Jimmy ZI am glad that A Newt One is shaking things up. As I told my friend The Knight, I do not desire to be controversial for the sake of causing controversy. But the truth is by and of itself controversial, and many people are upset by the truth - that's for sure.I wrote a ten item list in response to the demands issued online by a group of black Americans. Their list infuriated me. I wrote in my piece exactly where one could go to retrieve their list and give my list context.Apparently, no one wanted to do that. Fair enough; I cannot force A Newt One's readers to do their follow up. Hell, for many years now, I could not force the leftwing democrats in the evil left wing chat room to do their follow up either. Some folks don't want context; it's

      An Apology
There is scarcely a day that goes by that we are not excoriated by some wild-eyed, nimrod moonbat for posting "hate speech". Our typical response is to consider the source, delete the comment and never give it another thought.Until today. On a daily basis, we write posts that are always true, never plagiarized, never sugar-coated, often hilarious but never hate speech. Hate speech is vicious, corrosive and designed for no other purpose but to tear down and cause pain. We leave the hate speech to the leftists. What we use is truth speech. In doing so, many people become very offended. We usually don't care.Until today.Today, I was accused of posting hate speech on my blog by a sane person, a person I truly respect. The accusation was based on two specific articles. I didn't write either one.

Rep. Davis Must Issue Public Apology
Calling Rob Sherman to apologize for her bigoted tirade was a step in the right direction, however Rep. Monique Davis (D-Chicago) still owes a public apology to the millions of American atheists to whom her public comments were also directed. I'd like to offer a brief explanation about why this is necessary and suggest a way out of this mess for Rep. Davis.A public apology is necessary because Rep. Davis' comments were made public on the floor of the Illinois Legislature and because they were relevant to all American atheists and not simply to Mr. Sherman. According to a recent press release issued by the American Humanist Association:"Such a purely private apology, even when publicly reported, misses the point," declared Lipman today. The three associations of sports journalists - Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association, Bangladesh Sports Writers Association and Bangladesh Sports Journalists and Writers Community - yesterday demanded Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president SA Sultan's apology for trying to disgrace the media last week.Sultan, in a letter to the National Sports Council (NSC) chairman and Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed, claimed that 'the media cannot be controlled without exchange'. He also alleged that 'politically motivated media had launched a propaganda blitz against the BFF' in the written statement.Speaking at a press conference at the NSC conference room yesterday afternoon, leading sports journalists condemned Sultan for his loose remarks about the media, which has always given vast coverage of football despite the game's decline under his rein."Sultan has a tendency of denying comments made by him but such a remark, which is on record, from the president of the footb

      An Apology
I really don’t have time to write right at this moment, but I’d like to apologize to those kind bloggers who have been leaving me comments and have gotten no reply from me as of yet. With the new job, my internet time will be limited. I promise to catch up with everybody ASAP, this weekend at the latest. I’d like to thank those who have visited my blog. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up the posting. In fact, I know I will. I just need to get some affairs in order, first :). Bookmark:

Controversial quote #5 is listed as “Griffey!” In fact, the fifth-most controversial Don West quote should read as follows: 5. “You snooze, you lose!” Don’s job was to give his watchers the best deals on the most unbelievable sports collectibles. But, that was his only obligation. If you chose not to act on a deal that was just incredible, he could not care less. And he told you that to your face. In Don’s world, sleep was for losers who weren’t dedicated to sports collectibles and he felt no sympathy for that attitude. Apology to Publishers and Authors
I am sorry that I have not been able to get a new book review up. I was hoping to get The Longevity Thesis finished over the weekend but I've come to the realization that I will not be getting any reading done until the middle/end of next week. I want to extend my apologies to anyone waiting on my reviews but please let me explain.Last weekend I went to a live production of the opera Madama Butterfly for my opera course at UC Santa Cruz. I had intended to get The Longevity Thesis done that weekend, but it proved futile as time became a factor on Sunday. This week happens to be the beginning of finals. This means I have four essays to write that are due next week on different dates. I'm planning to get most of them done over the weekend, but I doubt that will happen. However, I am going to catch up on an whole lot of reading over the break, which will extend from next week until the 3rd of January. This means I intend to not only read everything on my reading list, but I am also

      A call for an apology...
The Church remains spotless even when Her members sinThere is absolutely no doubt that the human history of the Church, like all of human history, has its dark pages. But if anyone cares to take an objective look at this history, one must quickly acknowledge that the doctrine of the Church has always implicitly condemned abuses introduced by Her members. In the words of Dr. Dietrich Von Hildebrand, "There were sinners in the Church yesterday and there are sinners in the Church today. But the Church Herself, in her divine teaching, emerges gloriously unspotted in a history stained by human weaknesses, errors, imperfections, and sins." In the words of the great Cardinal Journet:"All contradictions are eliminated as soon as we understand that the members of the Church do indeed sin, but they do so by their betraying the Church. The Church is thus not without sinners, but She is without sin. The Church as person is responsible for penance. She is not responsible for sins....The members of t

Manoj Kumar has not accepted the Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan apology yet
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan Friday said “sorry” to Manoj Kumar for what he perceived as his humiliation in a scene in the recently-released “Om Shanti Om”. But the legendary actor is unmoved, trade sources said. Manoj Kumar has not accepted the apology yet. “The two (Shah Rukh and Farah) will be required to do a lot more to convince him to forgive and forget,” the trade sources told IANS Friday night. The thespian had taken offence to a ’70s scene in the film which shows a young Manoj Kumar (played by a double) being beaten by police constables outside a theatre when he lands there for a premiere. The thespian had reportedly wanted to sue the filmmaker and Shah Rukh Khan for defamation and a deliberate attempt to humiliate him. (more…)

IN THE NEWS: The Worse Apology in History!
Anytime you have celebrities and pseudo-celebrities doing TV interviews to apologize for saying things that we all know they really meant, it can be a very embarrassing situation. I mean, you sit there and you watch this person groveling because they fear losing their career opportunities.Well, on cable’s Hannity and Colmes show, Duane “Dog” Chapman took his apology to an otherworldly level, when he said that he went to George Washington’s home in Mount Vernon and visited the site where Washington’s 300 slaves are buried. He says he is currently working on a deal to be buried at the site himself. I can only say…“What the f*ck?!!!”Dog says he wants his mistakes to be a lesson to other people. Apparently, someone in the future will know who Duane “Dog” Chapman is and will ask why this reality star is buried with Washington’s slaves. If that’s not the height of egomaniacal fantasy, I don’t know what is. Most people now don’t give a damn about Duane Chapman and

      An Apology to a Human
A dedicated apology I write for a person that represent humanity, in the kindness and devotion, in its goodness, its not an apology of mistakes done, rather an apology for what couldn't be done, a name I shall not mention, because the dedication is known for whom, and the one knows.I apologize because I couldn't be what you wanted, because i couldn't give what you asked, as it long died, for not forgetting as life taught me never to forget, for the distance I keep so as not to cause you pain later, you stood beside me when no one did, I never forget, a pain i cannot endure to cause you, you were spared, although i caused you lots, but pains of honesty and clarity, can be endured, rather than pains of dedication and no hope, that lasts for life.I hope someday you'll understand my actions, for I foresaw the future of endless agony if actions are not taken this way.I don't say I'm a saint for I'm surely not, I make mistakes, but have the courage to admit them, I can't be the cause

Annoyed and short on time, I simply escorted it back to the vehicle, where out of curiosity I decided to see what had refused to go to the place of no return. The offender had Testimonial written in big letters at the top and underneath was the name Hon. Ron Paul. "Great! This really needed to go to the trash!" However for some reason I decided to read it and boy I was shocked.I need to admit something before I go any farther. Up until this moment, I am ashamed to admit that I had pretty much written Ron Paul off as a total fruit cake in need of services from a good mental institution. While I am friends with some Ron Paul supporters, others have scared me with their almost cult-like devotion to the man whom I feel disgraced America when he once implied in a national debate that we were in some way responsible for the dem

      A “Made in China” Apology
An interesting story from the Washington Post (h/t China Challenges) about the Mattel toy story. The company made an apology for the recall, and the Chinese media took it as an apology to China. But is that how it was meant?: “Mattel says that Thomas A. Debrowski, its executive vice president for worldwide operations, was in Beijing to repeat what the company had already said in Europe and the United States, that it was sorry for the recall of millions of toys, and that it was doing all it could to prevent further problems. The Chinese press heard it differently. The state-run New China News Agency said Debrowski “apologized personally Friday to a senior Chinese official for the massive recall of Made-in-China toys due to design flaws committed by itself.” Other media outlets said Debrowski apologized for harming the reputation of Chinese firms.” PR can be a tricky business, and foreign firms have to be increasingly careful what they say when talking about China (eve

Jobs Offers Apology, $100 Credit to Existing iPhone Owners
When Steve Jobs announced, at the September 5th Apple media event, that Apple was cutting $200 off the price of the iPhone, many a cheer was heard across the US. However, almost as resounding were the jeers of early iPhone adopters who had essentially paid $200 for the privilege of owning an iPhone for two months or less. Though penalizing early adopters financially isn't a foreign concept to Apple, and is in fact a reality that many Mac faithfuls accept, the magnitude of this scenario exceeded anything seen before by Apple customers. As a result, countless emails and complaints were reportedly received by Apple by customers who had purchased the iPhone previous to the price reduction. In an open letter, published on the Apple website, Steve Jobs has offered an apology to the community. In the letter, he states I am sure that we are making the correct decision to lower the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399, and that now is the right time to do it. iPhone is a breakthrough pro

I am so sorry that I haven't posted for this weekend. You may wonder I have enjoyed a good weekend and so I didn't have time to publish any post. That's not the fact at all. As some of my readers may remember, I have graduated from my master degree, and need to find a permanent job as soon as possible. The culture in Hong Kong is unique, we need to hurry to find a job once you are graduated, or otherwise all the good jobs will be gone and be occupied by other capable persons. This is something different from other places like UK or US, where the graduates there normally choose to have a vacation first, and then come back and start to hunt a job.Hong Kong is Hong Kong. I have been interviewed several times in the last week, mainly in the planning field. Finally, I get offers from both the Planning Department from the Hong Kong Government and the private consultant firm. Here's come to another problem, which one should I choose?

In the light of the current ongoing war of words between some government officials and some of our local political bloggers, they are perhaps going to use Wee Meng Chee’s case to their advantage. two links and one apology
So I had all sorts of brilliant plans for what I was going to do this afternoon, including sorting, photographing, and sharing the fabric and goodies I acquired from that house last week. And maybe posting some pics from the shoot we did on Sunday. And showing you the awesome turban I picked up at the vintage store. Alas, I think I'm coming down with something: the headache, sore throat, and chills seem to indicate that. So maybe I'll convince le sister to pick up SATC season 5, and we'll watch that ALL EVENING. Lovely, eh?BTW: here is the link. It's an ezine, and it has some seriously gorgeous photography. Also, if you're into fashion and you don't read the coveted (that would describe me up until yesterday) you're missing out. I love her style and inspiration.

Vivek was a beginner in the film industry at the time and it seems his impulsiveness got him into a big mess.At the time Vivek called a public press conference and claimed that drunken Salman had hounded him with 41 abusive calls. Since then though a lot of water has passed under that bridge and the lady who was the bone of contention between the two has
