Earlier this year, I became aware that there were children in my son’s elementary school who were, at worst, homeless, and at best living in very uncertain situations. The economy in this state has seen better times, and even families with two working parents are having difficulty making ends meet. There were kids crying because they had no costume at Halloween, and others who clearly had no warm coats, gloves or boots when the weather turned cold. Sometimes this baby kicks me so hard that I feel like he's going to pop out of the top of my belly like that little creature in Alien. Ok, I know that's not a very original or interesting visual but that's what it feels like. I don't know if he's using his knee or his elbow or perhaps a sharp stick but it's really uncomfortable. It's not like I can do anything about it either. Sometimes I rub my belly or tap on it and say "Hey, knock it off in there you little booger!" but it does no good. He just kicks harder. I think that's a surrobaby's way of saying "You can't tell me what to do! You're not my mom!"So I grin and bear it. Or rather, I hunch over, grimace, say "Ohhhhhhhhowwwwww!" and bear it.

The disrupted sleep patterns are making the bunny a bit huffy with me. I got out of bed a bit after five this morning and carried on with a myspace profile which was causing me trouble - the singer in a band I know asked me a while back about whether I'd be interested in running their street teams for them, so I thought I ought to do something about getting the page set up as a starting point. I was working on it last night and while the layout was mainly there, for some reason the contact box just will not show up. It's there when I do a profile preview but not when you're looking at the actual profile page - very irritating. Anyway, since I wasn't getting back to sleep any time soon I got up and did some more work on it first thing. Still can't get the bloody contact box to work, but everything else is now finished. I just didn't think it was a good idea to let the rabbit out even though he was awake because I was hoping to be able to doze off to sleep again after a bit o

One of the industry buzzwords being thrown around at the moment is “mortgage securitisation”. This is, it would appear, being blamed for everything from the collapse of Northern Rock to the decline of the NHS. So, what is Mortgage Securitisation anyway? Time for another history lesson. Once upon a time, there were things called Building Societies. Building societies took in money from those who had it (called depositors) and loaned money to those who 1: needed it and 2: could convince the building society that they’d be able to pay it back (called borrowers.) They would pay interest (at a low rate) to depositors, and charge interest (at a higher rate) to borrowers. Today, in Southwest Florida, is one of those rare none sunshine days, and off-and-on rain.  But I really do not mind it, we need the rain, but more important, it will likely bring cooler weather shortly!  For me, in my business, that is a tremendous help in many ways.  Because of the transient nature of our population, it means the return of the 'snow'birds' from up north - so more business.  It also means cooler weather, and with the printers that I keep in the car, they work better in the cooler temperatures.  I also do not need to struggle to protect my document packages from sudden down pours of rain.  To those of you that have never been to Florida, it has a lot of sunshine, but it can also have a few hours a day of afternoon sudden pouring hard driving rain so strong, you can only see about 100-500 feet in front of your car.  It will clear up in a little bit, but trying to juggle my supplies, and loan package can be difficult AN

it’s new residual model. INPC over the last year has built up a huge residual income, one that Lazard can easily structure into profitability. The old management team churned and burned, but the new management team can look like heros. All that is needed is some financing. Chances of getting the financing are strong, based on the new residual model INPC now has. That residual model in times like this can be considered a major asset. No one wants to see INPC lose here. Not Goldman. Not the carriers. INPC is a needed middleman in a near monopoly. I am interested to see what happens here in the next month. I recently signed up for a fitness boot camp and because I enjoyed it so much (I lost something like 4 inches), I dragged my boyfriend into joining a second, five week session with me. Turns out he doesn’t love all the running, push ups, lunges, and puking sensations that go along with it. I can’t say I blame him, it’s not for everyone. Tonight was the last night of this camp and as we were driving away he let it be known that he cheated in the competition they made us do. You see, the class was split up into teams and instructed to run all over the city to find the names of particular stores, restaurants, etc. Well my team did just that, but he, instead, found a map and located the names that way. So yeah, he’s a cheater. A winning cheater. But I love him anyway.

I’d like to thank the CBC Radio 3 for bringing such a great show to Pop Montreal. The lineup was Lightning Dust, Oakley Hall, Sunset Rubdown, and Black Mountain. From what I heard, The Lightning Dust set was great, I missed it because I was still hungover from the Dr. Dog show. Oakley Hall didn’t hold my attention at all. During their entire set I was pondering why the CBC Radio 3 would set up a show that wasn’t 100% Canadian, isn’t that their whole shtick?!? I mean that with no disrespect, as I have a man crush on Grant Lawrence and I listen to his podcasts weekly. It was great seeing Spencer Krug hammer the keyboard again. The sound was great in Le National, even though the mp3’s don’t do the show justice. You’ll be happy to know that the entire show was taped and will be on the CBC Radio 3 website sometime this week, but remember this… Trendwhore beat CBC to the punch (hear that Grant!?). One of the many blessings my wife and I have received from my starting this blog is that today, she is again reading the Bible. You see, as some of you might have known from my previous posts from way back, my wife comes from a Roman Catholic background but stopped believing in the church from a good time back.
