Making your customers anticipate is a good marketing strategy
If you are starting a business, one of the most effective advertising techniques you can use is what is called “anticipation marketing?. This is the technique of getting customers’ attention without telling them what you are all about. You see it all the time in [...]
I'm biting my nails off right now. Lindsey decided it would be a good idea to remind me that my story is still in the Writers of the Future Contest, Second Quarter, and also decided to mention that the honorable mentions (or most of them) are up, which means the contest is coming to a close. Why is that a problem? Well, first off, I have no idea how they deal with the semi-finals and finals, si
Nothing brightens my day more than the music of Coldplay, and for that, I can’t wait for their new album due June 17 (which I’ll be sure to write about). In the meantime I’ll get my fix from these videos. Enjoy.
If you are going to be a competent graphic designer that produces good results time and time again, you need to learn different principles of graphic design. These principles go over a lot of the elements that we’ve been discussing up to this point and for that reason are a good place to go to [...]
The anticipation of travel can sometimes be as pleasurable as the journey itself. Okay, well not quite. But for some of us, it comes close. And you've got to admit it can be fun, getting excited about the thought of going away, selecting the destinations, planning an itinerary, and making your bookings. If you read my blog you know I'm an admirer of Alain de Botton's writing and have posted about

CURRENCY TRADING SUMMARY U.S. Dollar Trading (USD) strengthened against the major currencies overnight, joining the equity markets in shaking off last week’s soft U.S jobs data as news that America’s largest savings and loan bank, Washington Mutual, will be receiving a $5 billion capital injection from equity group TPG. Whilst acting like a shot of confidence in the market, U.S consumer credit rose by US$5.16 billion for the month of February. However, this was below the expected amount of US$5.5 billion so there may be indications the Federal Reserve’s drastic easing of monetary policy is beginning to flow through the economy. The NASDAQ lost 6 points (-0.3%) whilst the Dow Jones had a volatile day after being up 124 points at one stage, before closing 3 points up. Oil prices surged

On January 17, 2008, the New York State Division of Human Rights filed a lawsuit against both Jackson Hewitt and Liberty Tax Service over their practices of lending lower-income taxpayers money in anticipation of their tax refunds. The New York Times ran a story on it in the Friday January 18, 2008 edition which you [...]

Singles dating is a very exciting experience, if your purpose is to meet new people and learn new things. You can never be sure that the people you will meet will be what you are looking for but the only way to find new people whose interests are similar to yours is by meeting them in person. Singles dating is a great experience and you should try it, even out of sheer curiosity. Maybe the individuals who have the best options for dating and serious relationships are the free singles. When you are single and free, you have more freedom in choosing the people to date. What is more, you can choose from thousands of categorized singles, who have similar interests. Being single and free allows you to adapt easily or to end a relationship, if you choose so. Today being a free single is great though sometimes you can be disappointed because there are no many people who share your interests or your relationship does not go in the direction you want it to. Permanently dating new people is the

The 2008 Olympics which are to be held in China, have become more than just a point for pride for the Chinese. It has become a part of their national consciousness. The fact that about 3500 children have been named in the honor of this outstanding event makes clear the importance of Olympics to Chinese nation. Most of these 3500 children with the name “Aoyun” (Chinese name for Olympics), were born in 2000, when Beijing was one of the competitors for the honor of hosting 2008 summer games. These amazing data was published by Beijing Daily, resting upon the information provided by China’s national identity card database.Almost all children named “Olympics” are male, and only six of them reside in Beijing, while others are most probably from the rural areas. The creative Chinese parents went even further with giving their children names related to Olympics: more then 4000 children bare names of main Beijing Games mascots. These names are Bei Bei, Jing Jing, Huan Huan, Ying Ying,
This is indeed interesting news:
Two prosecutors in Texas, the nation’s leader in executions, said Wednesday they will wait for a Supreme Court decision on lethal injection procedures before asking judges to set execution dates for death row inmates.
Roe Wilson, who handles death penalty appeals for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in the Houston area, said she also plans to ask a judge to withdraw the Feb. 26 execution date for a man convicted of killing a woman and her 2-year-old son.
Bell County District Attorney Henry Garza said he asked a judge to cancel a Jan. 24 execution for the same reason. “It just seemed to me that the writing was very apparent,” Garza said. “Now we’ll let them rule and we can come back in and act accordingly.”
In Texas, dates for executions are set by trial judges, typically at the request of local prosecutors. Twenty-six of the nation’s 42 executions this year have taken place in Texas. No other
Remember when I reviewed The Dangerous Book for Boys? Well, I’m currently working on a review of The Daring Book For Girls and loving it!
You’ll have to wait until Nov. 23 for my review but in the meantime I recommend that you check out the vid and the book’s website.
Have a daughter? A niece? A girl you think is cool?
Buy it. Don’t wait for my review. It’s that good.
The prospect of finding him dead did not appeal to her.
She had seen death before.
She had watched her uncle take is last breath. She had checked his wrist and then his carotid for a pulse.
But, that didn’t meant that she was prepared to do the same with her grandfather…the man who had done the majority of her raising.
Would everyday be preparation for that inevitable moment?
Would she wake every morning with the thought that he might be dead?
How could anyone truly function with hat worry hanging over their head?
In some twisted way, she accepted that burden.
She understood that finding him dead or dying would be her atonement for all of the year of selfless giving that he had afforded her.
Whew. This weekend.Friday, Miami, then dinner at church. Saturday, rest a bit and go on a big grocery shop in the rain. Sunday, Church, class, Costco, pool party at a friend's, neighbors for fire pit party here, fit all Costco produce into fridge, have pow wow with T about our future income prospects. Blog.Tomorrow, homeschool, brainstorm making previous ideas saleable (the first step here is actually to clean my desk, and maybe unpack more boxes from NYC), take K to the airport for a tour and sign her up for her first flight lesson, buy first flight book, get Rosetta Stone German at the library and drop off books, give her the language portion of the PSAT, make fruit leather, soup, and vegetables, stop off at Seacrest for a meeting with the Odyssey of the Mind coordinator and Duct Tape Queen extraordinaire. Is all of that realistic? Not really, but we have to plan anyway.Oh, I may be my mother's second on the Republican Executive Committee. Heh. Things are going to get crazy very qui
It's almost here ... It's almost here.
Considering that I booked my hotel room almost a year ago, and registered back in April was it? I just can't wait to head west for Creative Escape. I know ... if you read my blog and are not a scrapbooker, you're probably well over my rantings, but it is a big event, with several of my friends, that I've been planning for close to a year now . So I'm excited (just a little bit).
Here's some goodie bags I made for the ladies in my group that I'll be hanging with.
Lots to do this weekend, and very glad I get an extra day home from work. I have to finish packing my scrap stuff, finish my coctail swap, and pack my clothes. I'll be keeping you updated as I progress.
The adventure started early. I grabbed my coffee, dropped something for work at a friend's house and was on my way. I was halfway to the dinosaur lots when I realized I'd forgotten the permit.
I quickly ran home, grabbed it and headed back towards the meeting place. I was a little late, but nobody was going anywhere without the permit.
The drive was long, but relatively unremarkable. A stop
Michelle, guest author at Trader Mike’s site, contributed a summary post of an earlier article (anticipation vs reaction) and also listed four more links to previous posts that are very helpful to newer and experienced traders.
She also discusses an interesting paradox in thinking:
“Beginner traders are often anxious to do the right thing. They want to be firm and disciplined. However, an experienced trader will be able to combined flexibility with a firm hand in order to enhance her/his edge”
Brett Steenbarger recently exemplified this exact sentiment in a post of trades he took on April 11th. After ‘being flexible’ and switching his perception and trade, Dr. Steenbarger concludes:
“Years ago, I wouldn’t have made that second trade. I would have stuck with my initial long and then watched a small profit turn into a loss before covering. I would have had a good idea, but not the ability to flexibly modify or overturn that idea.”

A boy decided to have a dinner with his girlfriend parents. Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time. Well, the boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some condoms. The pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy
In an attempt to consume mass quantities of information within short periods of time, toggling tools and shortcuts always aim to please. Trying to take thinking out of the process, a new tool anticipates attraction. Bringing the heat to community-generated Hot Or Not, the application rates an input of a woman's face from 1 (She has a REALLY nice personality) to 10 (She's also a psych-major!). The software generates the number based on a database of over 200 women's faces. Two Aussie scientists headed up the "research", no doubt consisting of sticky substances and glossy glam shots. Unsurprisingly, the application is set up to only level the ladies.tags technorati : attractive australian beautiful ugly
Human Rights Commissioner Kumiki Gibson is investigating some big name tax preparation companies and banks in an effort to find out if they are engaging in illegal discrimination against Blacks and Latinos. At issue are Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs), money advanced to taxpayers based on an anticipated tax refund. These loans get a big push in minority neighborhoods. Consumers are charged anywhere from 85% to 500% in interest. A recent study by a Manhattan think-tank revealed that the loans drained about $324 million from the poorest neighborhoods from 2002 through 2005.It has been argued that there is no need for anyone to have an RAL because the IRS can wire funds to taxpayers within 2 weeks of getting a tax return. So, based on the interest rates, etc. it is completely unnecessary to see these types of loans being heavily pushed to low-income consumers.RALs have never been investigated as a civil rights issue, until now. The Human Rights Commission chose to investigate these loans,

Cheesy post title aside, it's fair to say that I'm excited. The anticipation of attending tomorrow night's (Friday 3rd) Sufjan Stevens gig at the Barbican here in London is almost too much to endure. The reviews from Dublin only serve to heighten it.
And it's not the gee-whizz, "he's bringing a full band and wings and giant Santas" that's getting me worked up. It's the army of sweeping songs that he is going to perform for me that's causing this ebullience. He will have to try his hardest to knock Tapes 'n Tapes off the top spot of gigs I've attended this year.
Containing ridiculously long track titles, his albums to date have been numerous and long. There's an argument to be made that the best bits should really be put together in fewer records, but the concept of making albums as opposed to collections of singles is part and parcel of his songwriting philosophy.
Hell, he's even releasing festive 42 songs in
In anticipation of the slew of rangy adjectives that would be used to describe their band Bedroom Walls decided to lend a hand by categorising their own music into the heretofore unknown genre of romanticore. Whether the term is adequate to define their smouldering output is open to question but who needs definitions when there's a weak at the knees experience to be had in the bands sophomore
Don't these kids look so angelic as they sit in anticipation to open gifts on Christmas Eve ? I know , I know , why the day before ? Hint : mom and dad don't want to be woken up before dawn with kids demanding to open presents. Long ago we decided Christmas Eve was better. This way the gifts are opened and in the morning they can get up and play quietly. Sneaky , aren't we ?

"I'm never going to be able to sleep"
The words were muttered quietly. Beth didn't dare shriek in utter frustration. In the next room, accessible through a connecting door that she had closed but not locked, he was supposedly sleeping.
Even Beth wasn't foolish enough to wake him up.
Anxiety - angst - had passed. Only a slight
I know, I know... you all are getting really sick and tired of hearing me talk about football, but the good news is that it won't be much longer!! Considering we are definately not favorites in tonights game this might be our last of the season :(I'm still holding out hope though!I'm just enjoying the anticipation of it all though. No matter how long they play, or how much they win (3 superbowls in the last 4 years!) I never get sick of them ;) BUT... if we can't win then of course I'll be rooting for Indy. It is about time that Peyton Manning got rid of his curse and gets his ass to the superbowl - don't get me wrong, I won't be rooting for him in tonights game, just if we lose - which we won't ;)I have so many blogs to catch up on since I've been home - so don't fret, I'll be catching up tonight (after the game)!I wish I had more witty fun things to talk about but I'm at a complete loss today. I'm not even close to my 2 hour time limit on my computer time for the da
