Fifty-four years ago yesterday, the infamous Senator Joseph McCarthy hearings began in the Unied States Senate in which the Wisconsin Republican tried using a public hearing in order to continue his virulent anti-communist crusade. Today, modern conservatives like Ann Coulter repeatedly attempt to prove that “Fighting Joe” McCarthy’s crusade was on the right track in [...]
I hate to say this, But this crap right here, is why Conservatism is in it's death throws and why America wants nothing to do, at all, with the G.O.P. Surprising everyone, Barack Obama announced today that he and political pundit Ann Coulter were forming a professional wrestling tag team. The strains of Jimi Hendrix's version of "Wild Thing" blared through Madison Square Garden's sound system as strobe lights and flashbulbs from paparazzi illuminated the arena. Barack Obama and Ann Coulter emerged holding their hands aloft like winners. An ecstatic crowd of wildly cheering wrestling fans urged them on. Together, they strode to the squared circle. Obama politely lifted the middle rope to allow Ms. Coulter to enter the ring.A microphone was lowered into Obama's hand. He gazed lovingly at the crowd and shouted,"OUR TIME HAS COME!"The crowd responded with deafening applause."We challenge all comers. I will batter them with bombast. Ann wi
(Washington D.C.) Thursday night during a speech at Georgetown University, conservative queen Ann Coulter took a break from calling John Edwards a fag to endorse consumer advocate Ralph Nader for president of the United States. "I feel that Ralph is the best candidate to stop Hillary or Obama from giving health care to people who don't deserve it," said Coulter. "Also, by playing the part he was born to play, Ralph will ensure that the liberals can't use government funds to clone themselves."
RUBY RIDGE, IDAHO…12/14/07 6:42am EST…Broadcasting from her compound in Idaho, best selling author Ann Coulter reached out with a personal request to her shortwave audience. Stated Colter, "Now that my beans and frank are finally gone, what do you, my adoring, gushing fans, think I should do next: More breast implants or an Adam's apple reduction?" Within moments, a man calling himself "
Ann Coulter has once again used witty satire to make an incredibly valid point. Why do Jews continue to support the Democratic party? Israel would just be called Palestine today if the Democrats had been in charge the last six years.
The Democrats are largely against our support for Israel and love to make evil references to the “Jewish lobby” that the Federal government is allegedly beholden to.
I don’t think it’s Jews in general that continue to support the Democrats, but specifically American Jews that do. If you want to be even more specific, it’s the Hollywood Jews that always vote Democrat.
I can assure you that the politics of Rob Reiner, David Geffen, and others would be quite different if they were in danger of being killed in a suicide bombing on a daily basis. American Jews that haven’t lived under the constant threat of terrorism at the hands of Muslim killers can easily vote for a Democrat, but an Israeli Jew would look at things a littl
Colmes ask Coulter to apologize for her statment about Judaism. Ann Coulter said that she wears criticism from Jewish groups over the remark as a badge of honor. Ann comment was, the Anti-Defamation League condemns Dennis Prager. I wear it as a badge of honor. It's like citing the National Organization of Women to tell me how all women feel. The point is: This is the same old fight we see all the time with the irreligious trying to stir up trouble with the religious. What is this woman talking about and is it just that she's still trying to sell her new book? The reminder of her statment was as follow; "Yes, godless liberals are upset that other people believe in God. This is the exact same thing we saw with George Bush speaking at Bob Jones University. And suddenly, The New York Times was offended on behalf of Catholics, because of some untoward remarks the original Bob Jones had made about the Catholic Church, not as bad as what the New York Times had said about the Catholic Church,
Ann Coulter’s most recent book, “If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans” will undoubtedly upset her most loyal fans. The reason why her avid fans will be disappointed is because there is simply nothing new in this book that her fans have not read before. Amazingly, it appears that this time she intended to target people who have never read her material.
In fact, her latest work is...

I generally avoid making too much out of anything Ann Coulter says because so much of it seems to be an act. She purposely says things which are shocking to keep her act alive and, while I’m not actually predicting this, I really wouldn’t be too surprised to see her some day write a memoir confessing that she doesn’t believe most of the stuff she says. Some times it is impossible to ignore Coulter as she goes too far, even by the extreme standards she has already set. This occurred when she discussed how Jews need “perfecting.” Editor and Publisher and Media Matters have posted a transcript of her appearance on Donny Deutsch’s show:
DEUTSCH: Let me ask you a question. We’re going to get off strengths and weakness for a second. If you had your way, and all of your — forget that any of them –

It's a funny thing. Recent atheist tracts by Dawkins, Harris, as well a bunch of anti-religious right-books suggest that the world would be better if people weren't religious. They also lead one to believe that religious people are kind of kooky. So, atheists can wish that people were atheists, and atheists can criticize the religious; but, when religious people criticize other religious people or insinuate that theirs is the correct world view or that the world would be a better place if everybody thought as they did, they're some kind of haters.

Yes indeed, the horsey-faced Christian boozehound , in the black leather micro mini, with the heart operated by a cell phone battery, has spoken again. But putting snarkiness aside, and I do sincerely hope she dies in bed beneath the weight of the Oxycontin Dough Boy, Miss Coulter does have to be given credit for having the keen observational skills of an inebriated pole cat when noting that:“President George W. I'll be honest and admit that I had never heard of this nutbag before until a few days ago. I don't tend to listen to Republican or conservative radio shows, TV spots or books mainly because of people like her. But when someone makes a stab at anyone and uses the term "faggot" as a punchline, they move into my vision and I'm prepared to take her down if I ever get face to face with the witch. So far she has called Bill Clinton gay, defended Mark Foley and stated recently that the widows of 9/11 are media whores. Here is just a glimpse of the madness:These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis... These self-obsessed women seemed genuinely unaware that 9/11 was an attack on our nation and acted as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them... I'm pissed. I never thought that I would be writing in defense of Ann Coulter. Actually, I'm not so much defending Ann Coulter as I am bitching about only half of a story being told. Coulter's words have been taken out of context and twisted and that pisses me off. When that happens to ANYONE it pisses me off. I haven't read any of Miss Coulter's books and before today, I had never actually
Ann Coulter is certainly one of the most controversial figures in the political domain today. Few people are as concurrently loved and vilified. In a strange way, she is like a thin Rosie O’Donnell with intelligence and a factual basis for her arguments. Nevertheless, I sometimes wonder if she helps or hurts the Conservative movement. First, I must mention that I have read many of Ann Coulter’s books and enjoy listening to her satire. She makes brilliant observations, and her chapter about Willie Horton in “Godless” was very enlightening. But, for every profound statement she makes, she follows it up with two or three statements that make me cringe more than someone scratching a chalkboard. For example, when Coulter argued that liberals often hide behind victims in order to gain immunity from political criticism, I absolutely agreed with her. She was referring to the fact that the left buttresses people like Cindy Sheehan, the Jersey Girls, and other victims of trag
I find it incredible that one of the nation's top morning shows, Good Morning America, gives the despicable and vile 'pundit' Ann Coulter a platform in which to spew her hate and bile. During the breakfast hour, viewers were treated to this 'woman' almost gleefully telling the audience that her wish was that John Edwards would die in a terrorist attack. What political discourse! When this country has nothing better to offer than Ann Coulter and her insane rants, the state of our nation cannot be that good. Where are the ABC reporters on the latest Cheney scandal? Maybe a little coverage about the many wars that this country is presently involved in? What about the faltering economy, the sad state of health care...I could go on and on. Instead, the national media focuses on this millionairess, this hate spewing woman who has no relevance in the national discourse. As far as I know, she holds no elected office and serves in no advisory capacity in the government. So why waste our t

Climatologist Dr. Timothy Ball is featured in the new documentary debunking global warming, titled “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” For this heresy, Ball has received hate mail with such messages as, “If you continue to speak out, you won’t live to see further global warming.”
I’m against political writers whining about their hate mail because it makes them sound like Paul Krugman. But that’s political writers arguing about ideology.
Global warming is supposed to be “science.” It’s hard to imagine Niels Bohr responding to Albert Einstein’s letter questioning quantum mechanics with a statement like: “If you continue to speak out, you won’t live to see further quantum mechanics.”
Come to think of it, one can’t imagine the pope writing a letter to Jerry Falwell saying, “If you continue to s
Uh-oh. Someone let Ann Coulter near a computer long enough for her to reguritate a new book. From the title alone, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans you can pretty much guess what it will be about. Yep, more of the same: Democrats hate America, true Republicans are the warm, fuzzy example of how to lead prefectly virtuous lives while calling the opposition every bigoted name their god-fearing minds can conjure up. Classy stuff.Seriously, why would people keep buying her books? She repeats the same unfounded nonsense over and over. Of course, I guess she did branch out into evolution in her last book, but the ignorance she displayed there might actually be the answer to the repetitivness of her books. She doesn't know how to do anything except come up with creative ways to call people she doesn't agree with derogatory names. It's actually kind of sad. Ann Coulter's only real skill in life is to be a name-caller. What a trite and meaningless existence.Unfo
Ok, maybe it's just me (although I know a lot of people would agree) that Ann Coulter is totally a repressed lesbian just waiting to throw herself out of the closet. Think about it, she has built her reputation on the notion that she is this completely angry, virtually fascist, utterly conservative, foul-mouthed, man-hating Republican. And what has this gotten her so far (besides a lot of hatemail)? A boatload of attention from both sides of the political spectrum. Despite a strong following of conservative superfans, everyone will agree she is losing her place in the spotlight. There's this theory that Republicans have the biggest secrets (how do you hide an elephant in the room?) On the contrary, Liberals have nothing to hide and therefore can be morally and sexually free. You have these uptight, ultra conservatives who believe everyone should live by their standard of moral code (which translates into Bible quoting as a means of justification). It's these people who harbo
Ann Coulter is writing a new book...and what is the spoiled rich brat from Connecticut whose idea of debating is to call people names calling her new book;"If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans."Sounds like something a girl said to me in the third grade. Welcome Ann to age 8.I'm sure it will sell millions to all of those who are not interested in learning anything, just interested in hearing or seeing someone agree with their own idiotic views...you know, Republicans.(Two can play at this game, Ann)
I guess I'm not sure what to think about Ann Coulter's recent indulgence in hate speech. Well, I guess that is not entirely true. I know what I think about her calling John Edwards a homophobic slur. The part I'm not sure about is how the rest of us should respond in this and similar cases. I have addressed this topic before and will almost certainly continue to do so in the future.Anyone who was surprised by Coulter's statement has not been following her very closely. Her hatred of gays is well known, and she has made similar statements before. Thus, I think it is safe to say that any organization which invites Coulter to speak is explicitly condoning this sort of bigotry.Case in point, after her comments at the Conservative Political Action Conference, she was an invited speaker at the Center for Reclaiming America, an organization affiliated with Christian extremist D. James Kennedy and his Coral Ridge Ministries. Coulter was there for the Center's "Reclaiming America for Chris
When I started reading an AP article titled “Has Ann Coulter hit her tipping point?” I didn’t expect it to open with this:
Ann Coulter has been a reliable name for years among people who plan television news shows - an attractive, articulate blonde conservative who’s made a living lobbing verbal bombs.
Reliable? Attractive? Articulate? Is David Bauder of the Associated Press talking about the same Ann Coulter we’ve come to know on this blog?
Maybe some people think she’s articulate, or clean even, but since when is anything that comes out of her mouth considered reliable? I mean, Al Franken has become a best-selling author exposing this woman’s lies.
I’m not sure how many of you have seen the recent remarks from political talking head Ann Coulter, that have been playing all over the news channels. I know a lot of our T. Pylus readers spend most of their time on either the Bass Channel or QVC…
For those of you who haven’t seen it, Ann Coulter, a die-hard Republican referred to Presidential candidate John Edwards, as a “faggot”. By the way, John Edwards is a married father of three who has openly stated his belief in Jesus.
I’m not sure what was more heart-breaking… the fact that Ann Coulter made these comments, or that a room full of people applauded and laughed. By the way, this is the same woman, who referred to Muslims as “ragheads” a year or two ago.
Actually, when I think about it, the reason I felt like I needed to sit down and write something about this, is that Ann Coulter openly proclaims herself as a Christian. From that I can only surmise one of two things. Eithe
Not long ago Tim Hardaway made a mistake with a comment he made. I talked about it here. So, it's a little surprising when Ann Coulter made a comment about Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards. And what's worse is that she fully intended to make the comment she made. You can read all about it here. Around the same time, I happened to find an article that I just think is excellent. The article is located here and brings up a lot of good reasons why gay marriage is wrong. No matter which side of the argument you are on, it's well worth the read. The reasons the author gives are hard, in my opinion, to argue against. He lays it out well, and I would encourage anyone to read it.
It looks like Ann Coulter is trying to backtrack a little bit on her "faggot" comment. Her explanation that "faggot" actually meant "wuss" reminds me of John Kerry trying to explain his remark calling the troops dumb was actually meant as a joke about President Bush. I think that Ann is paying the price for her words, in full. At least shes not (that I have seen anyway) blaming it all on the "left wing smear machine" ala Amanda Marcotte. It's interesting that just yesterday I got an invitation to a gay friend of mines wedding to his partner of many years. We have been friends a relatively short time, maybe a year or so. We both worked as staffers for a while at a political discussion forum called Neutral Underground. He is a very decent guy and his partner, although I haven't met him myself, is also a really nice guy. We have numerous mutual friends. I haven't had a chance to get my friends input on the whole Coulter affair but I think it w

On Sunday John Edwards, Democratic presidential candidate, responded to the comments by Ann Coulter which referred to Edwards as a “faggot.” In response, Edwards said, “I think its important that we not reward hateful, selfish, childish behavior with attention,” and that he also believes it “is important for all of us to speak out against language of this kind; it is the place where hatred gets its foothold, and we can’t stand silently by and allow this kind of language to be used.”
This controversy occurred on Friday at the 2007 Conservative Political Action Conference when Ann Coulter gave her speech which included the hateful comments towards John Edwards. During the speech Coulter said, “I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot’.” Her comments caused instant controversy and made some of
As you might have heard, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter showed her insidiousness once again at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington D.C. At the end of her speech she made the following comment:“I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”After a short pause, the audience then erupted in applause. Here's a video of the incident:Now, I'm all for Coulter being able to say whatever she wants. It's her right. However, this sort of name-calling is exactly what's wrong with Coulter and politics today. First off, Edwards is not gay, so it has no basis in reality. Second and more importantly, the term is incredibly offensive to homosexuals and serves nothing more than to alienate them, especially when it's said publically at a Republican function. It's the sort of
Pretty much as expected three of the GOP candidates for the Presidency have distanced themselves from Ann Coulter and her gay remarks about John Edwards. I would hope that it is because they really do believe that gay bashing is wrong as I do but I think that their political survival instincts grabbed the helm to steer clear of her. As I have said a number of times before I am a conservative that is pro gay rights. Not to be mistaken for special gay rights, just the right to be treated the same as anyone else or as crappy as anyone else might be treated. In this case it is to be compared to an ambulance chasing phony like john Edwards. But political correctness kicks in even with some of the better GOP politicians at times such as this. The reason I don't castigate Coulter for saying such a "dumb" thing is I don't think she was being dumb at all. She got exactly the reaction she desired most from the left. Democrats are always going to hate Ann Coulter, thats a given. So I
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter used a derogatory anti-gay slur to describe Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards this week at the Conservative Political Action Conference.
The remark got mixed reactions from conservatives in the room with her, drawing some cheers and some sounds of surprise; I guess some of the conservatives couldn’t figure out why she was talking rather than cooking dinner.
Among those Republicans particularly upset by the remark were those who are close friends of former Republican Representantive Mark Foley and of Pastor Ted Haggard. You know, because it brings up bad memories of the time before Haggard was certified 100% heterosexual. When it was down around 90-95%. I don’t know, what percentage does doing meth with your male prostitute account for? I was never great with numbers.
Coulter went on to say, “I’m not anti-gay. We’re against gay marriage. I don’t want gays to be discriminated against,” which led to fu
The freedom is speech in this country is an alienable right. For years, that particular privilege in the United States has allowed us to speak out against injustice, protest, & gives us the ability of personal expression. It has been used for good and the betterment of society, but also for bad, and sometimes people say stupid things. Today, we add Miss Ann Coulter, political pundit, to the Idiot File. She’s on the right of the political spectrum, and does like not liberals, Democrats and those who don’t agree with her – fine and well. But what she did this weekend was nothing short of disgusting and it makes me wonder if she believes half the garbage coming from her mouth, if she says something just to get a response, or she is just crazy. I think it’s a combination of the three. From CNN: Prominent politicians from both parties and a gay-rights group on Saturday condemned right-wing commentator Ann Coulter for her reference Friday to Democratic presidential candidat
Right Wing News article linkAnn Coulter's Juvenile Comment At CPACFrom Ann Coulter today at CPAC,"I'd say something about John Edwards, but if you use the word 'f*ggot', you have to go to rehab."Note how carefully that sentence is crafted. She cleverly alluded to how ridiculous it was for Isaiah Washington to go to rehab because he used an offensive word and, if you'll notice, she doesn't explicitly call John Edwards a f*ggot. What does that mean?It means that in all likelihood, before Coulter ever went to CPAC, she came up with that line and planned to deliberately spring it this week-end. Why? Because she knew it was a high profile event attended by the presidential candidates and Dick Cheney, which guaranteed that her offensive remark would garner massive publicity for her -- which it did."Democratic Party boss Howard Dean demanded that Republican presidential candidates denounce conservative columnist Ann Coulter..."For someone like Ann Coulter, having How
I don't even want to give this so-called human being the benefit of the doubt by dedicating a whole post on her, but anyone who just randomly calls a Presidential candidate a name with no point of reference for calling him that should not be taken seriously. If John Edwards was gay, it would be bad enough that she called him a "faggot," but at least she would have some frame of reference to use the world. She would've attacked a truth, albeit in a vulgar way, but the former Senator is not a homosexual, so why use the world. It was a cheap shot at somebody who is not even making headlines. It was something a 14 year-old spoiled rich brat would say...so as I would say to a 14 year-old spoiled rich princess from New Canaan, Connecticut who calls shoots her mouth off...shut the hell up! What happens to idiots like Ann Cloulter and Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity now? Will they get as much press, now that the Republicans are no the rulers of everything?
Will the nations’ extreme right-wing unintelligentsia now shut the hell up, or will they become more vocal.
If the election was a referendum on the President and his policies that led to Iraq and other national challenges, will the nation no longer stand for hate-mongering morons and their propaganda?
The heart of the free press is the ability of anyone to say anything without censor or reprisal. As a result, it is only through public taste and opinion that it can be regulated.
This is the main reason why agitators work so hard to get folks riled up over things. They know, just as the Romans did, that the mob controls the senate and the media - in the end.
