A Tudor-style dining place with waitresses dolled in French maids outfits, stepping into Angus Steakhouse, located at a corner of Ngee Ann City 4th level, is akin to entering into a time-wrapped.
One will find piped-in Muzak piano to give the place a rustic, quaint yet comforting character.
However, one might want to avoid seating near the open kitchen, as it might get too greasy and smoky from
At last we can tell the world we’re proud to know him. It’s the worst kept secret in the world that Sheikh Hamdan’s racing manager Angus Gold is one of Summerhill’s great pals, and one of the principal drivers of our relationship with the Sheikh’s Shadwell operation. Angus Gold is also revered as one of the world’s great revellers and being his friend and ha

It’s official. All at braindead mansions have unanimously voted Aberdeen Angus the best beef in the world.
Beef derived from this noble breed of cattle is, in our humble opinions, of far higher quality than beef derived from other breeds. Our extensive beef research has been painstakingly carried out over a number of years. We’ve been [...]
As I mentioned in a post previously, we returned from vacation and on Monday I needed to do some major shopping to fill our empty larders. While at Costco I spied a new product on the end cap in the meat and cheese aisle. John Soules Foods, Angus Beef Fajita meat.Normally not a purchaser of 'prepared' foods I passed by with barely a glance, but I caught a whiff of the fajita aroma and it stopped me in my tracks. That smelled really, really good. I glanced at the price; $9.99 for 24 oz. or 1.5 lbs. Already cooked and seasoned, it just needed to be warmed up either by skillet, oven or microwave.I put it back and started to walk away muttering what I always say to myself; "I can make that at home...." when I began to do the math in my head. With the price of beef being what it is whe

Illustrations of space and sci-fi art, fantasy art, comics art, paperback cover art from the artist Angus McKie.Click images view full size: Angus McKie is an artist who has worked as a colorist in the comics industry. He is best known as an English science fiction illustrator whose work appeared on the covers of numerous science fiction paperback novels in the mid 1970s and 1980s, as well as in Stewart Cowley's Terran Trade Authority series of illustrated books. His illustrations often present highly detailed spacecraft against vividly colored backgrounds and high-tech constructions. Like Peter Elson, Tony Roberts, Chris Foss and some other artists of the period, he influenced an entire generation of science fiction illustrators and concept artists. This lasting influence is probably visible at its best, about twenty years later, in the visual look developed for the Homeworld videogame. Source: Wikipedia.Official site: McKie Illustrations.
Angus & Cheryl is a cool little toon making the rounds in the media that is for all countries and requires no dubbing with universal appeal for all. The theme is about boys vs girls, very simple and global for all to understand. See more episodes>>
It all started long before the chicken or the egg, the half-full or half-empty glass, black or white: it’s a question of chromosomes. These interdependent opposites cannot exist without each other. They cannot be together… nor can they be apart. He is Angus: she is Cheryl. The last round in the battle of the sexes. sandbox world, tony medeiros
One of the highlights of my weekend in Angus was my first visit to Barry Mill near Carnoustie. The custodian Peter Ellis is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic as he shows you the milling process. Barry Mill is one of the few remaining operational watermills in Scotland. I would recommend a visit here if you are interested in industrial heritage and I think most kids would enjoy the experience too.
There is a lovely walk to the mill pond and the weir with picnic benches dotted along the way.
Barry Mill is one of then many things to do and see in Angus.
I was in the county of Angus, north of Dundee, yesterday working on my forthcoming guide to Angus. It was bright day with a few showers but the colours are amazing at the moment. My first stop was at the Reekie Linn Waterfall. It’s been pretty dry for a the last couple of weeks so there wasn’t a torrent of water.

The town of Kirriemuir is know as the Gateway to the Glens. Kirriemuir is the birthplace of JM Barrie, the author of Peter Pan. Barrie gifted the Camera Obscura to the town. It’s amazing to see a 360 degree panorama of the surrounding countryside reflected in the concave white painted viewing table, the image looks like a surreal picture postcard.

I was at the grocery store with my grocery list in hand, and ask the butcher where the hamburger was.He said, "Your in luck we have Black Angus hamburger, just in and on sale!".Of course I bought it. After all it was recommended by the butcher. Just between you and me, I don't have a clue what is so great about black Angus.Well a little wikipedia search filled in the blanks for me. Check out the Black Angus article here.Basically, the article says that Angus is a superior breed, and produces better meat.I must say, the spaghetti I made with it was very tasty! mmmmm..........
Yesterday was a bit of an unusual work day for me. I started the day at home, flew down to Irvine for an afternoon meeting, and then returned to the Bay Area on an evening flight. Unfortunately, the hour-long segments were not long enough for me to sample the airborne cuisine offered by American Airlines and compare it with the fare from United and Lufthansa. However, as I was waiting for my return flight, I took the opportunity to try out an Angus Third Pounder, a new sandwich being test-marketed in Southern California by McDonald's. The burger, a premium offering rolled-out to compete with other high-end fast-food sandwiches like the "Six Dollar Burger" marketed by Carl's Jr., comes in three variations: the Angus Deluxe, the Angus Mushroom & Swiss, and the Angus Bacon & Cheese. I opted for the bacon version. It was okay - par for the course for a fast food burger. Honestly, it wasn't all that different from the other burgers that I've had at Mickey D's, though the burger pat
Near the railroad, between Saint-Joseph and Rachel streets, is located the Angus Park. Sector of industrial military production during the Second World War, the Angus Park was used for the construction of trains by the Canadian Pacific. Today, the Park has become a mainly residential sector, still under huge development. Recently, the shops used for production were transformed into a big supermarket (what a surprise). The Park still preserves the vestiges and the typical red brick from the "old shops" which were set up there before. The ground is known for still being contaminated.
I am taking some of my own advice and heading to Scotland for the Historic Scotland free weekend. I will be staying at the Northern Hotel in Brechin. I have chosen this hotel as it gets good reviews and is close to Edzell Castle, one of the sites I want to visit and photograph. I have started writing a guide to Angus, the county north of Dundee.
I need to visit the area to take photos for the guide and I thought I could combine this with visitng some Historic Scotland sites. I know this area pretty well as grandparents lived here and I spent many childhood holidays in Angus.

The programme for the annual Angus Walking Festival has been announced. Many of the walks are stenuous but there are couple of easy walks at the weekend. There are also evening events such as a BBQ with traditional music. I know this area pretty well as my grandparents had a holiday hut in Glen Prosen, where I had many happy holidays. Unfortuntely the hut burned down one day when we were out walking. As we descended the hill we could see some smoke in the distance and by the time we got back there was nothing left of the hut.
