The producers picked the Aerosmith song “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” for American Idol Top 3 finalist David Cook.

David Archuleta picked “With You” by Chris Brown on the second round (contestants choice) of American Idol Top 3 performance night.

Round OneFirst up was David Cook and he started with “Hungry Like The Wolf“, and i don't feel any hunger, i cried like a wolf though. however it was a good performance, as usual.Then was the only female finalist left, Syesha Mercado looked fabulous! she spiced things up with yet another upbeat song, “Proud Mary" by diva Tina Turner. . The tears flowed on "American Idol" Wednesday night as the show trimmed the competition to 24 semifinalists. They were mostly happy tears for the 12 guys and 12 gals who made the cut on the final night of Hollywood week. The winners included teen singing prodigy David Archuleta, Janis Joplin soundalike/respiratory nurse Amanda Overmyer and Pinay hopeful Ramiele Malubay from Florida! Brooke

And the most anticipated shock elimination finally happened. The best singer in this entire season is no longer in the running, to the dismay of Simon Cowell (the judge who wanted her so bad to be in the finale…read:”I want my girl, Melinda to be in the finals”–Simon). Melinda is no doubt, the best singer this season. No genre is too hard for her, she sings any song with ease, confidence, and professionalism. No wonder she was dubbed by Randy Jackson as the “Resident Pro”, she truly is. But this season is about who the voting public wants to stay, and these voting public’s majority are the teeners, who are greatly rooting for “teen pop sensations”. Nonetheless, Melinda Doolittle will surely go a long way, even beyond American Idol. She doesn’t need this competition at all. She’s too good for this AI stint.. Meanwhile, it’s Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis who’s gonna be duelling it out next week at the finale.

Jordin Sparks first sang "Wishing On A Star”, a song chosen by Simon for her, but he ironically didn't like how she performed it. I thought it was okay. Next song was "She Works Hard for the Money”, another okay rendition. Third song was "I Who Have Nothing” which I think was another blah moment. She performed it well, but again, it was an old song. I don't know why she keeps singing that song. Blake Lewis sang "Roxanne”, "This Love” and "When I Get You Alone”. All great singing from Blake, all with his own flava. I wish he'll be in the finals. Melinda Doolittle "I Believe in You and Me”…nice. Her second song was "Nutbush City Limits”..Brilliant! Her last song was "I'm a Woman”, which she sang a lot better the first time. With the last song, she forgot a good number of words, and her moves were so calculated. Randy Jackson predicted that it will be Jordin and Melinda dueling in the finals. Bee Gees songs should only be sung by the Bee Gees. Jordin was the only one that was any good. Blake was terrible!

I really enjoyed last night. I mean, BON JOVI??? How could you NOT like Bon Jovi songs? I thought as a whole they all did great but I decided to break it down a little. Phil. I’m sorry all you Phil Haters but the man was awesome last night. You have to admit it. I’m so happy for him. Jordin did a pretty good job but it certainly wasn’t her best. She was struggling a bit with the song. And her hair was wild. Lakisha blew me away last night. Awesome performance and the whole bit with Simon kissing those glossed up lips was hilarious. Blake. Wow. Blake was just..just…just…HOT. I absolutely LOVE it! Go Blake! Melinda, you’re good and all but you bore me. Sorry! Chris. Ok y’all, it’s time for Chris to go. The clips they showed of Ryan and Simon in Africa were very heartfelt. At the risk of being 'gimmicky', I truly believe that this show is using its influence for something good."It's different than whatever you're used to" - tour guide to Ryan Seacrest"It's just unbelievable. It's just wrong." - Simon, in response to the living conditions of a malaria patient. Malaria is the #1 killer in all of Africa.At first, I thought inspirational evening would be cheesy... but it turned out some powerful performances.Chris R."Change the World"Chris started a little rough vocally, like his voice wasn't completely warmed up. But, I thought he did extremely well taking a very recognizable and well-liked song, and turned it into his own without completely going overboard. I enjoyed his improv and nuances.Melinda"The

Cue Chris' song "I'm goin home..." and click to bobble Sanjaya.As much as I believe Sanjaya should be out of the competition, it was still sad to see him leave the show.While standing in the bottom three, Sanjaya beamed his signature huge smile. I thought he'd take it all in stride if his name was called to go home. But, then again, Sanjaya's been riding such a huge media wave and has never been in the bottom three. It must have been a shocker to him. I mean, I was a bit shocked considering he hasn't been in the bottom three ever.As he was embracing LaKisha, I thought, "Wow, he's really crying over this." He did bounce back for his song though and poke fun at the media stir caused by his hair. I'm sure he'll be fine. Not to mention, his stud-meter rating probably skyrocketed with all the girls back home.Leaving the show also means leaving the AI buddies you've been living with for the past month. Phil- “Where the Blacktop Ends” This was, by far, his best performance. The judges were right. Country is his thang, baby. He nailed it. Jordin- “Broken Wing” Awesome beyond belief. This little girl’s got it goin’ on. Sanjaya- “Something to Talk About” No comment. LaKisha- “Jesus, Take the Wheel” As much as I love LaKisha I just didn’t care for her performance. She was off key through most of the song and with her “big ole voice” she could have really nailed this it. Chris R.- “Mayberry” Terrible. Just terrible. I adore Chris but this was just not good at all. Melinda- “Trouble is a Woman” Absolutely fantastic. She nailed it. She looked awesome too. I like her new hair extensions. Holy Maccaroni Banana Split COW! The amazing Chris R and super talented Stephanie in the Bottom 2!!! TOTALLY Speechless!Its either this show is losing its spark among Americans or its turning out to be a popularity contest in terms of gaining support and not so much on who can actually SING!Well lets talk about the performance first. The 3 that stand out for me this week was as always Melinda and then Jordin and Chris Robinson. This week featured video I picked is not only based on performance but also I think the contestant who have improved the most... and that is none other than Ms. Jordan Sparks. Last night was pretty good and I have a few things to say! Haley- I thought it was pretty good. However, I’m not quite sure it was good enough to keep her out of the bottom 3. She’s such a cute girl, though. Chris R.- Did you see him making eyes at the camera??? OMG. LMAO. I shouldn’t laugh because Ace did that last year and it melted me. I actually liked his song. Good job, Chris. Stephanie- Not much to say except it was a very boring performance. Blake- That was some kinda sexy. Damn. “Whose your daddy?” You are, Blake, you are! I’m just kidding. That was a hot performance. To me Blake has the whole package and with or without Idol he’ll make it. I think I became a fan tonight. Lakisha- Nice performance but a little blah to me. British Invasion WeekHaley ScarnatoOk, her performances are growing on me. This week I didn't mind her. However, she sounded out of breath and unable to support some of her notes on the chorus while she was moving (gyrating?) around the stage and floor. (I still don't like her choice in outfits - looked like Gap linen shorts and a gold lame halter that was double-stick-taped to her back.)Chris RichardsonI like Chris' versatility. He showed a more vulnerable side to his performing. I don't typically like slower songs, but I appreciated seeing "the softer side" of Chris. I agreed with the judges that he showed a lot control and was less pitchy with this style of arrangement. I hope he tries one performance without his nasal tone. OK so the girls were pretty good last night. Lakesha and Melinda clearly are in a league of their own. Sabrina was good but not as good as she was last week. Same thing for Stephanie and Jordin. Gina is not doing as well as I wanted her too. All the other girls sucked horribly. I have to admit that Melinda’s dedication to her “Gayles” as she put it kind of put me off a little bit. Simon kept talking about how humble she is but I just do not see it at all. I think its fake. I’ll take Lakesha over her anyday.

Well the boys finally showed us why they were picked to be on American Idol. Thanks goodness because after last week I was not excited about the show at all. Here’s a quick rundown of my thoughts and opinions in no particular order. Phil- I thought Phil did a great job. I wish he hadn’t gone first though. I forgot all about him by the end of the show. But hey, somebody’s gotta go first. Chris Sligh- OK first I just have to say this. I was shocked that his wife is such a hottie. There I said it. Call me shallow, call me whatever you want but I was absolutely SHOCKED. With that being said, I LOVED his performance. Chris Richardson- OK his dedication to his cute little country Grandma won major points with me. I wasn’t too impressed with his song. His movements are weird to me but he will make top 12. I hope Grammy gets to come to Hollywood to see him perform! Sundance- Thank God Sundace is back. Great performance. Blake- I’m becoming a Blake
