By now the whole Edwards campaign fiasco over Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan is pretty much over with. The two womyn bloggers are back to their home blogs and spewing their acidic bile at the world once again. My blog has had a large number of hits from people searching for information on Marcotte & McEwan. The press has had a field day with their heavy handed opining and finger pointing. Those on the religious right are shout in self righteous fervor and those on the loony left are once again being given that which they most love: the chance to play the victim. Since leaving the Edwards campaign Amanda Marcotte has been especially vituprous towards the supposed “reich wing conspiracy” to get her. That she has once again proven herself to be a foul mouthed child is no surprise but what is a surprise, at least to me, is that so many people were caught off guard not knowing what she was really like. This is a good piece from Powerline and Iowahawk. While the resume listed below has been "enhanced" by Iowahawk it's not too far from the truth. It's very telling that every other word we have heard post melt down from Marcotte has how it's all a conspiracy of the "christofascists" and the "right wing noise machine". It is a generally unspoken but well known fact that liberals tend to moderate and control their blogs & forums much more so than conservatives. I have been a moderator and administrator on conservative and mixed conservative and liberal discussion forums and have seen the micro management liberals indulge in first hand. As an example in this post I have a link to the original announcement made at Pandagon by Marcotte and when I posted it here it showed a successful "trackback". A trackback indicates that an article or story was linked to from another blog. It's a method of letting readers and bloggers know when an article or story has been linked to and by whom. Its fairly obvious that a lefty blog like Pandagon wouldn't want to have a visible trackback on display from a conservative site such as this so they probably deleted the trackback or just left it in the moderation qeue. But then anyone with any experience with lefty sites would not find this surprising in the least.

So Amanda Marcotte, the foul mouthed moonbat blogger from Pandagon, has resigned from the Edwards campaign. One has to wonder about the on again off again state of her employment. But really, this is a best of both worlds. The campaign gets to show they are not finger in the wind wimps by showing their sunwavering support for Marcotte and Marcotte gets to show some grace by resigning. I would assume, being the cynic that I am, that this was all arranged prior to the earlier announcements of sticking by their bloggers. I wonder if Marcotte can get her old job back, whatever it was, from prior to moving out of state for the Edwards campaign. John Edwards finally weighed in on the matter of Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan and said he is keeping them on staff. He said that while he won’t tolerate the type of language that Marcotte has used on uncounted rants at Pandagon he doesn’t believe she meant and disrespect to anyone’s beliefs. I have to wonder if he actually read any of her posts but that's beside the point. Sort of. I for one am actually glad that he made the decision he did to keep them for a couple of reasons. They are both absolute foaming at the mouth moonbats and I have not the slightest doubt that they will come apart at the seams sooner or later and it will be much more spectacular than Howard Deans implosion was. The general populace needs to see what loons a large part of the Democrat party is and these two are the perfect examples. This is an excellent piece from Right Wing Nuthouse on how the Edwards capaign has made a major screw up by hiring Amanda Marcotte as their "Blogmaster". I've read some of her screeds and its amazing the Edwards campaign got within 10 miles of her. I would suspect a minor member of the campaign team suggested her for the job and the senior members didn't know any better. They would likely have pointed to Pandagon as proof of her success. This was a really crappy vetting process and is an excellent example of how liberals just don't get it. How could any thinking person read her rants and think it would be a positive for any campaign? There's a term for what they did: Stepping on their collective dicks. She will now be dropped like a hot rock. The bad part is that this will give the rest of the blogosphere a black eye.
