This is a complete modernization of the Chipmunks in the 21st century. There really isn't much character development of David Seville, the creator of Alvin and The Chipmunks. In the movie, he's portrayed as a failed folk singer. In actual life, he was both an actor and a songwriter of funny songs. I wouldn’t think it’s easy for a 28 year old young man to get over a road accident when his career had just begun and was happily flying with a top class airline. Well I’m here to tell you, on behalf of America, to cram it. Cram it right back in your brainhole and keep it crammed there so nothing else drips out. Here are my thoughts, which I will enumerate because your tiny anti-”Alvin” pea brains may not otherwise be able to hang.

So you think “Alvin and the Chipmunks” can’t sustain, as a live-action/CGI romp, the level of excitement and drama necessary to titillate audiences for a full ninety-ish minutes? How about “The Chipmunk Adventure,” the 1987 smash hit? How about CG-effing-I, as seen in films like &l
Jason Lee (you know, Earl!) is starring as David Seville in the live-action / animated Alvin and the Chipmunks, set to hit theatres in December of this year. Of course, it’s right in time for Xmas and I’m sure there will be a whole crapload of Alvin themed toys and whatever else to vacuum in the dollars.
We see this one making a lot of money, regardless of how shitty it is. And since it’s a live action remake of an 80s cartoon that doesn’t involve Dolph Lundgren or GMC vehicles that can knock over skyscrapers, it’s probably going to be shitty. Oh well.
