It's amazing that you can now take notes with a digital pen on paper - this is technology! But no matter how advanced technology can be, we still use a lot of ink pens in the office and home. I suppose this is why you still get alot of pen souvenirs from trade shows and promotional stands. …war das nen cooler Abend gestern. Er begann gegen 18:30 Uhr mit dem besten (und teuersten) Steak meines Lebens. Nach dem wirklich leckeren Essen und mehr oder weniger interessanten Gesprächen haben wir dann taktisch ins Pub verlegt. Dort gab es dann Fußball (ich glaub es war FA-Cup), Smalltalk und Guinness. Eine wirklich tolle Kombination. Nachdem unser Pub um 0:00 Uhr schloss, wir aber noch unheimlich durstig waren haben wir (wieder taktisch) in eine Bar verlegt. Die hatte noch 2h länger den Zapfhahn geöffnet. Aber eben auch “nur” 2h. Also verlegten wir (diesmal weniger taktisch) in den angrenzenden Nachtclub. Der schloss dann zum Glück (!!!) 3:30 Uhr und ich konnte Cheffe dazu überreden nun vielleicht doch mit dem Taxi nach Hause zu fahren. Also…war wirklich nen super Abend und ein würdiger Abschied! läuft… Oli PS.: nur noch 4mal Schlafen und Papa is wieder zu Hause!

I've always wanted to try using spirographs in my layouts. I've decided to try it out in my latest layout titled "Future" in my family gallery.First of all, I've used a simple spirograph set to create some spirographs on the pattern paper randomly. This will helped me to alter it into a spirographs pattern paper.Secondly, to tone down the bold bright colours, I've used some distress ink to inked all the edges and partially into the pattern paper too, leaving some spots of colours here and there.With this two steps, I'm able to alter the simple bold bright coloured pattern paper into a pattern paper with interesting spirographs on it which are backed by spots of colours all over. This is a very fun technique and I've enjoyed doing it. Hope you all would also give it a try!

I have two tunic patterns that I want to sew up but after seeing the reviews here on PR I realized the shoulders are dropped. (Even though they don't appear to be on the pattern envelope.) I have a broad back and shoulders so any top with dropped shoulders makes them appear even wider. What is the correct was to alter an existing pattern to raise the shoulder seam to the natural shoulder? So this weekend I made Simplicity 3686, which are TOTALLY cute....but ran into a small problem...They cannot contain all of my womanly goodness. (ie. they are too small). I made the biggest size they offered and could hardly get them over my hips ^^;;; SO! How would I go about making them bigger? I have fallen for an H & M black knit dess (new this season) It's only $35 dollars (I think) and I can easily buy it...there's just one problem. I don't really wear dresses and what I want is for this dress to be a sweater. So, do you think I can cut off the bottom and hem it into a sweater? I don't want to ruin it. It seems simple. I would just try it on, mark where I want the hem and cut it off and hem it. The material is an incredibly soft cotton or cotton blend knit I believe. The bottom edge has been hemmed so it's not like it was cut on a nice edge or anything. It is ribbed knit across the bodice and upper arms but changes to flat knit under the breast to the hem and at the elbow, which flairs out and then back in at the wrist. I do not have a photo but here is a hand drawn illustration of the general look of the dress. The lower edge is the current lenghth, the upper edge is where I want it to be...at the hip. This skirt is part of a vintage suit. It appears to have been altered already, although a bit strangely. The skirt consists of four panels with a zipper to the left side. Measuring each panel at the top, where it joins the waistband: FRONT: 6" with 2 darts (this panel adjacent to zipper) 5-1/2" with 2 darts BACK: 7" with 3 darts (this panel adjacent to zipper) 6-1/4" with 3 darts I was thinking of eliminating a couple of darts and/or letting out three of the seams (they are 1/2-3/4" for each panel) to enlarge the waist by an inch. But which ones where? Possible problem: The fabric is Celanese acetate. Would the old seams show or could they be dry cleaned and steamed out?
