Yes indeedy! Eva’s brother and his girlfriend have arrived for a few days and so we decided to take a road trip down south and have a weekend of hiking. I’ve packed the horn (the Alpine variety of course) and all other essentials and we’ll be off around six this evening. We’ve planned to stay in a mountain hut close to Kandersteg and see what routes take our fancy. The weather forecast looks favourable and it’s good to be getting some time in the mountains before the weather turns for the winter. We’re a bit disappointed this year with how little time we’ve spent in the Alps. We’ve been walking a few times in Jura close to Basel, but the two to three hours to get to the Alps have put day trips out of reach. So if you’re going to go it has to be for a weekend and they seem to be always in short supply! So we’ve made more promises to get more trips in next year and this weekend is a good excuse to scout out some new areas for us

Alpine PMD-B200 Blackbird II with 10GB of memory: "Alpine quietly made a new GPS navigation system available at Crutchfield called PMD-B200 Blackbird II, without even announcing it on their own website first. The new BlackBird II has a 4″ display with 480 x 272 pixels resolution, touch screen controls, and maps that cover the United States including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Canada. PMD-B200 also has an extensive POI database that contains everything from a gas station to a small museum. Alpine Blackbird II also doubles as a media player handling file formats such as MP3 and WMA which can be brought on board using an SD card. What’s different about PMD-B200 is that it has a 10GB hard disk drive but on the website there’s no mention of how much space is available for your media files. Maybe none? I have a alpine 7897 deck and it was working great for 4 months and now when i turn on my corvette it opens up and powers on and displays the word interrupted and i cant do anything just look at it...can some one help.....
