Those darling Girls Aloud have just been the guest hosts of Channel 4's The Friday Night Project, and vare funny they were too. Being good sports they dressed up and fooled around, like this nativity scene above singing A Gay in a Manger with Alan Carr (the poove in the manger) and Justin Lee Collins. And until the clips appear on YouTube, who knew Nicola was so ballsy and good at the goofy acting malarky. Sarah Hard-on (as Alan kept calling her) had a few too many Chardonnays, but she's a happy drunk, so that's OK. Cheryl was sweet as cheryl pie. Kimberley's voice is getting lower and lower. And I still can't understand a word Nadine says. P.S. they did a fab choreographed version of Can't Speak French. The new single methinks.

I'm becoming slightly obsessed with GA. After years of being slightly interested, along comes the single Call the Shots and I'm all ears. And then the album Tangled Up totally captivates me. Bona!Last night's contestants on The X Factor were given sage advice from the girls (mainly consisting of "Just go out and have fun"). Cheryl can talk for England and has an opinion on EVERYTHING. But she's really sweet with it, just watch her with Leon: "And I voted for ya!". Bless. Nadine's accent is still impenetrable and Nicola never gets a look in. Maybe her advice was peppered with too many 'fooks'. Who knows. Here's all the bits edited together. And here's the Girls' Own performance on the results show. Obviously, all the acts have to sing live on this show so there are a few wobbly bits, but over all, marvellous!
Tangled Up, the new Girls Aloud album a lot of people seem to be wetting themselves over (and rightly so) pops up everywhere on Nov 19th. But here's a sneak preview. It's the Wham-influenced Can't Speak French, (say it prefixed with Girls Aloud and it's a cute little joke that probably had the lasses giggling). Xenomania have done a fine job with this new album. Well the Girls have managed to rack up 17 entries into the top ten since they formed in 2002 and have now set a record for the most consecutive top entries in the UK charts by a female group.
While that is a bit of a convoluted title (the most consecutive top entries from a female group with more than 4 members but less that 6 on a Tuesday with a following wind) it is a bit shocking.

I am reading a foreign language book - aloud.
I remember the last time reading aloud - over a longer period of time - was in school, when we read set books in class.
Why am I doing this now (again) ?
Perhaps to get more of my senses activated ? Could also be because of the topic of the book - it is about ancient times. And as you know: stories sound better, when they are told.
I noticed that this slows me down (when comparing to “normal” silent reading). Could be because:
- now I read REALLY the complete text instead having read some parts (quickly)
- sometimes also the pronounciation/accentuation seems not correct to me and I stop and think how it would be correct
- perhaps I see more with my mind’s eye ?
The book has >500 pages - I wish all my neighbors fun listening

They have covered one of the biggest gay anthems ever, Tiffany's I Think Were Alone Now. They are not banking any it is constantley being taken from there bank and they have been warned to slow down as once the money has gone that is it and there career is not doing that great. Last night the prestigious Mercury Music prize was, in a shock move, awarded to a band who have actually sold a copy of their album.Hot favourites Arctic Monkeys won the £20,000 prize for their record breaking debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'.Another shock was that the band were actually there to accept the award, a stark contrast to their refusal to appear at the Brits and the hoax they pulled with their pre-recorded acceptance video.In true Monkeys style however, the boys were less than co-operative in the post ceremony press conference.... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...On the other side of town another big music prize was being awarded - the infamous Popjustice £20 Music Prize.Although no official announcement has been made yet, it is rumoured to have been awarded to Girls Aloud for their four songs in one effort 'Biology'.Keep you eyes and that on the Popjustice site for an official announcement later today once their hangovers have eased.the
