Here’s our take on the resignation of Alberto Gonzales: Ok, so he’s resigning. They’re going to replace him with someone awful. It’s a sad reality that the problems we face aren’t based on personalities in government, but rather, on the systemic abuse of power by politicians. Gonzales is gone. Nothing is going to change. Why? Because the new A.G. will be the same…or worse. Just like he ended up worse than Ashcroft. What we need is not just a simple change of faces in D.C., but instead, a change of policy; a return to the principles of the Constitution, and a return to the principles of limited government as espoused by the 10th Amendment.

It was a foregone conclusion that the embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales would be leaving his post it was just a matter of when. He had lost support from almost everybody in the administration except President Bush himself. As I have said before, Alberto Gonzales was in way over his head as Attorney General. They tried holding hearings into this even though they knew he was innocent. This was just an attempt to see if they could catch him in a lie and take him down on a perjury charge. It worked in the Libby case, it didn’t work here. Today they tried to hold a vote of no confidence on Alberto Gonzalez . This was just a silly, meaningless, waste of time and energy. This was an attempt to embarrass Gonzalez into resigning. They were not able to come up with any wrongdoing in which to take him down so they tried this little game. Don’t you think their time could be better spent?

I guess Alberto is in a fabulous mood today. There just aren't enough votes for the "no confidence" resolution to pass the Senate. Al, you really should wipe that shit eating grin off your face. The fact that there was even the possiblilty that the Senate could bring this up means that they think you suck. Now Arlen Specter said he would vote for the resolution. When the top Republican is willing to vote on the "you suck" resolution against one of his own, you know you suck really bad. The only thing that is saving you now is that Baby Boy Bush likes you so much. And that isn't saying much since he has proven to be a bad judge of who is qualified to do a job (Harriet Miers, anyone?).
