Last week, I resigned as a member of the weekly illustration blog, sugarfrostedgoodness.com. I had been a contributor and member since May 2007. The duration of my membership was not without its controversy (and I am all about the controversy!) In recent months, however, I have not been pleased with the direction in which the [...]

"How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people -- first of all for those upon whose smiles and well-being our own happiness is wholly dependent, and then for the many, unknown to us, to whose destinies we ar

Having now read Albert Einstein's 'Special and General Relativity', and 'Ideas and Opinions' many times, I thought it would be nice to put up a web page that presented his religious ideas in as simple and ordered way as possible.Albert Einstein was a beautiful man, wise and

Childish superstition: Einstein's letter makes view of religion relatively clear. A little known letter written by Albert Einstein indicated that the theoretical physicist was no supporter of religious beliefs, which he regarded as "childish superstitions". Einstein wrote the letter on 3 January 1954 to the philosopher Eric Gutkind who had sent him a copy of his book Choose Life: The Biblical Call

The great scientist's views on religion have long been debated, with many seizing upon phrases such as "He [God] does not throw dice" as evidence that he believed in a creator. But the newly-unveiled letter, a response to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, has cast doubt on the theory that Einstein had any belief in God at all towards to the end of his life. In the letter, dated January 3 1954, he wrote

Albert Einstein (1879-1955) - The Nobel Prize in Physics 1921. The German-American physicist Albert Einstein contributed more than any other scientist to the 20th-century vision of physical reality. In the wake of World War I, Einstein's theories--especially his theory of relativity--seemed to many people to point to a pure quality of human thought, one far removed from the war and its aftermath.

"Creativity is more powerful than knowledge" Albert EinsteinUnquestionably one of the greatest physicists and thinkers the world has ever known, I have always been fascinated by what Einstein has written and said outside the world of physics. It initially seemed unusual to me that a man as steeped in knowledge as he was would have deemed the value of pure creativity to be so high. After thinking about it some more, however, it became clear to me that those that truly bring a new level of understanding to any field generally do so by thinking 'outside the box', an endeavor which often requires the rejection of commonly accepted knowledge and the application of creative thinking.
Desp
Editor's Note:- Not quite sure whether its true or not but it sure is funny.March is the month in which Albert Einstein's was born. He was born March 14, 1879.Few remember that the great scientist married his cousin, Elsa Lowenthal, after his first marriage dissolved in 1919.Einstein stated that he was attracted to Elsa because she was well endowed. He postulated that if you are attracted to women with large breasts, the attraction is stronger if there is a DNA connection. This came to be known as Einstein's Theory of Relative Titty.

Every so often, I run across interesting quotes that relate to photography or nature in some way and I thought it might be interesting to share them from time to time. The first quote in this very intermittent series comes from Albert Einstein. We all know a great deal about him, but here is a quote that reveals something of his philosophy that I had not previously realized."A human being is part of the whole, called by us the universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty"Albert EinsteinThere is a tremendous amount to think about in that statement. I particularly like
A quote by Albert Einstein on overpopulation ..."I am convinced that some political and social activities and practices of the Catholic organizations are detrimental and even dangerous for the community as a whole, here and everywhere. I mention here only the fight against birth control at a time when overpopulation in various countries has become a serious threat to the health of people and a grave obstacle to any attempt to organize peace on this planet." [Albert Einstein -- letter, 1954]"I think that sums it up nicely. The main cause of overpopulation can be found by examining the Industrial Revolution.More information about the causes and repercussions of unstemmed overpopulation may be found in Guido Moosbrugger's book "And Yet ... They Fly". Available in FIGU's online bookstore. Subscribe in a feed reader
