      US Airways Sucks Donkey Balls
~Snooper~So, let me see if I have this right...I book a flight two weeks in advance in preparation of the massive Gathering in DC for Operation Eagles Muster, including "trip protection" only to find out that the flight is canceled. An announcement is made that "we will get you on the next available flight to your destination."This naturally, relegates said passengers as "stand by passengers".Then, we find out that the professionals at US Airways have an SOP to over-book flights in anticipation that some will not show up and/or miss their flights for one reason or another, causing passengers un-asked-for agitation when told, "Ladies and Gentlemen. This flight is over-booked so we are asking for volunteers to surrender their assigned seating in exchange for a free round-trip ticket anywhere

Angels and Airways Help Keep 'OC-Style' Pop Rock Alive
They are not necessarily 'indie' (whatever that is), because they are signed with Universal, but Angels and Airwaves are starting to get plenty of blog buzz. The Adventure - Angels and AirwavesClearly, they are talented and make some catchy songs, but A&A may be a bit too polished by the record exces for their own good. For example, this A&A video clip and the song could be straight outta OC.Still, I have to admit I sometimes like the "OC style" - the corporate polished pop rock from heavily promoted artists and groups 'owned' by one of the Big Four. While "OC style" branded pop rock is cool sometimes, my heart and soul are always with the indie bands, signed and unsigned, that keep amazing me each time I spin a new virtually unknown track or play catch-up and groove on songs that h

“Flying Imams” Lawsuit Upheld Against US Airways
A federal judge has ruled that a lawsuit filed by a group of imams against US Airways and a Minneapolis airport can proceed. U.S. District Judge Ann Montgomery said in a 41-page opinion late yesterday that the imams, who say they were discriminated against when they were removed from a flight last year, have a plausible claim that their constitutional rights may have been violated. The imams “have adequately stated a claim” that airport police may have “seized plaintiffs in violation of their Fourth Amendment right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures,” Judge Montgomery ruled. Those Imams have a lot of nerve to sue the airlines. I wonder what the Prophet Muhammad would say about frivolous lawsuits and greed. Those are things you expect from an “infidel,” but not a group of distinguished Imams, especially “flying” Imams. The fact that something like six different passengers complained to the aircrew about the behavior of the

JetBlue has 522 people following them on Twitter, with some of them probably getting updates by cell phone. Southwest Air also has a Twitter feed, but they have it blocked unless you request to follow them. Why make it more difficult for people to follow your Twitter updates?

      Surfer Mutiny at British Airways
Viator’s founder with his contraband surfboard A wave of protest. That’s what British Airways (BA) provoked this week when it announced — with no warning — that starting November 6 it no longer will transport “unsuitable” items on its fleet of aircraft. The list includes canoes, hang gliders, pole-vaulting poles, javelins (!) and, yes, surfboards. Surfboards??? Dude, what is BA thinking? While the global community of javelin throwers is tiny, surfers number in the thousands. And they are not happy. A spokesperson for the British Surfing Association (BSA) said she was “extremely shocked” by the decision, especially as some boards weigh much less than many items that were not included in the ban. “We’d find it extremely hard to believe that the average short board would be more difficult to handle when compared to a double bass and a full bag of golf clubs.” And there’s the rub. BA’s new policy applies

Thai Airways Royal First Class, London to Bangkok
The Royal First Lounge at Bangkok is very impressive - better even than Qatar Airways Premium Terminal at Doha in my opinion. There are nice private rooms to relax in (photo shown), sleeping areas, shower suites and a full service menu. The lounge staff were extremely attentive and were constantly offering to bring me food and drink. They also made me an appointment to visit the Royal Orchid Spa where I had a nice complimentary neck and shoulder massage. When the time came for me to board my connecting flight, I was personally escorted all the way to the aircraft.
